borderline unusable app. You’d be better off starting an AMC+ Membership through a secondary app like Prime Video or Youtube

Poor advertising
I download the app and signed up because they previewed certain movies that were supposedly on the app. It turns out they were not.

I only downloaded this app and bought the subscription because of one show having audio description, and the audio description section that it advertised to have. Upon downloading it and opening the show that it claimed to have audio description, for none of the titles were working for audio description. even though audio description was showing as available it definitely was not then I thought it was just like a glitch in the app so I waited a day and go into the app and all audio description options were completely removed from all titles. It was complete false advertisement, and a complete disappointment to the blind community blind people like to listen to shows too and having an advertisement for audio description and it not even working. A big letdown. I have since deleted the app and unsubscribed from the subscription and will not be purchasing. If you are a person in the blind community. I do not recommend. I even reached out to email and got nowhere. They acted like they needed proof that there was advertisement for audio description. Like it was literally everywhere Google ,the website, the app. and I guess when they realized people were complaining about it they completely took it off. All the shows that that had the option for audio description. multiple people from the blind community we’re talking about this major letdown.

It is now Monday and for the 4th consecutive week I cannot watch Interview with the Vampire’s newest episode that premiered on Sunday, yesterday. I can’t watch ANY of the immortal universe vampire shows actually. Previous seasons and episodes unavailable as well. You have completely failed at delivering the one show I looked forward to on your service and instead have caused technical headaches. Silly me for thinking you’d actually put some effort into making sure the ONE SHOW that you’ve got left that anyone cares about that is propping up this failed channel goes smoothly for paying subscribers. I give up. Just shut it down at this point.

So many ads in ad free plan

Right now I think AMC is the only streaming service that consistently interrupts content with ads/promos, on the paid ad free plan.

Terrible service
Episodes don’t come out on time, laggy, slow, etc. I am sick of paying for a service and waiting for an episode to come out and then it takes forever to even see it. Please fix these issues

Several commercials during a single movie with premium subscription. Feels like fraud!
App freezes
The app freezes in the middle of the show and you have to actually restart the app for it to continue playing. It happens every time I watch a show.
Commercials are AWFUL
I know some people like horror, but I do not and to have those commercials for those horror shows shoved in my face before I can watch what I want is going to make me cancel the app. I looked for a way to leave a comment for customer service there is no way to do that so here I am leaving a bad review instead.

Ridiculous
I don’t review things but AMC+ has frustrated me to the point of wanting to do so. First of all, trying to stream in the web player did not work at all, and yes I troubleshot in every way. So I download the app. The app is nearly unusable and buggy. I find it ridiculous that I’m paying for such a subpar service. I’m canceling my subscription the minute the show I’m streaming ends its new season.
Next episode
Give an option to go to next episode or access all episodes when watching a show.
Hard to cancel
They purposefully make it difficult for you to cancel your subscription.

It freezes and crashes I tried to cast to my TV and I can’t even get through the whole episode without it skipping and disconnecting! I’m just gonna add a subscription through my Amazon Prime :)

This is probably the worst app ever created. It will not allow me to log into my tv or my other phone.

Crashes all the time. It’s impossible to enjoy any show with the number of times you have to stop, rewind, forward, close, or restart.

App is a complete joke. Crashes every 5 minutes and has maybe 3 or 4 decent shows. The movies are 98% B movies at best. Again there are maybe a dozen movies worth watching. Unfortunately I have seen them multiple times. There is a reason they offered a year for 30 bucks. Even at that price the value is a stretch. Not to mention the commercials on the “ad free” plan. Might as well save the money and just watch Pluto for free. Why pay for commercials when free t.v. has a much superior selection? Overall the app is a complete waste of time and money.

Hey AMC! Are you not reading these reviews?? This is what you get when you let your 5 year old kid design an app for you. It glitches constantly at the worst times and then it starts the show over. Also, you can’t easily go back to an episode index. Don’t waste your time or money with this garbage. Decent content, horrible app!!
Disappointed
The app is okay, but the ads are so annoying. For some reason I can’t upgrade my subscription to have no ads unless I cancel my subscription, suffer an entire month with ads, and then resubscribe with the premium subscription. That’s if I can tolerate the next month with these obnoxious ads. I would’ve been willing to pay the difference but I guess AMC doesn’t want my money

The video quality is sometimes lower than just watching AMC through my cable provider. Also, how can you not have profiles? With multiple people in my house it makes it impossible for us all to watch anything separately. Every other app has it.
Update 6/11/2026: Still no profiles. Not sure why they can’t seem to add in this basic feature so because of that I don’t let anyone else in my home use the app.

Worst streaming app I have ever used
I love this $8 free trial. (joke)
I’ll start with what’s good: there’s some great stuff on this app, if you can somehow find it.
AMC+ takes every quality feature that every other streaming services have and throws it away. The pages are a complete mess, nothing is organized and the only way to find anything interesting is by knowing exactly what you want to watch. Don’t try to use the spacebar or the pause button on the keyboard to pause what you’re watching, you have to manually click the screen. If you wanted full screen, you’re going to have to deal with the huge black borders, and even with all of that space the subtitles still go right over top of the video.
I’m also extremely confused how AMC has every single Walking Dead related miniseries and documentary but lacks the actual original show. Another reason why Netflix is the better choice.
Also do not be tricked by the downloaded content tab, you can’t actually download content if you’re using this app on Mac.
Also if you use this TV version of this app, they’ve somehow implemented the worst possible UI for a keyboard you could imagine. All one row, if you wanted to delete a character you must scroll all the way from A-Z.
WIll this review be helpful for people? Maybe. Will it actually be used for progress in making this app usable? Probably not, seeing there are 2+ year old reviews that say the exact same thing as me.

Wow. Dropped The Ball.
This app is pan seared baboon butt meat! the new season of IWAV just came out and its unwatchable because the app keeps crashing!! I cant even reset my password because the window it opens up in Safari keeps showing “Error 500”. Im so disappointed and I hope these issues are resolved. I just got the app and will not be renewing.

Not sure if it’s because i signed up through roku but it wont let me reset my password at all which i shouldn’t have to do considering the password is saved on my phone

I was very excited to watch the new IWTV season and signed up for AMC+ through my phone browser. First, they didn’t have an app on Xbox, which is my main entertainment center. I thought fine, I’ll just use my laptop. But no, every time I attempted to watch a show I got a never ending loading screen. Then I switched to the app- exact same issue. Finally I decided it wasn’t worth the trouble and attempted to cancel my subscription. AGAIN an error code appeared, with no sign of resolution ahead. I’m convinced this “service” is an elaborate scam at this point, which is a real shame to all the work put into some great shows produced by AMC. Sorry Lestat, I guess I’ll have to wait to see you again on cable. Do better AMC+
App interrupts user experience to beg for review
Overall poorly designed and slow with random freezes
Ugly UI. Constant Crashing.
I only have this so I can watch TVL. The app’s UI is genuinely ugly. Hire a designer and a coder. The app’s hideous UI also makes the app confusing to look at. Also, along with my first experience actually watching something on here; I was faced with the app crashing twice and constant buffering/loading.
Foreign language movies/shows
Seems like every movie I click on is in foreign non-English audio. The “en” button doesn’t change the audio to English. I would love to watch a movie without having to read the subtitles. All of the foreign language movies that doesn’t have English voiceover needs to be marked so I won’t waste my time. I’m glad I got 90 days free because I do not intend on renewing this subscription.

I can deal with subtitles going out of sync, not knowing which episode you stopped on, ads, etc.
This has all of those issues, goes to a commercial break and then just randomly decides you’re 3 episodes back and bam you go through 18 commercials again just to figure out where were. Fun stuff.

I’m getting this app just so I can watch the vampire lestat with subtitles be glad I never understand what lestat is saying or my first choice will always be piracy, I’m seeing a lot of horrible reviews and no shade I need that fixed before June 7th I’m paying for a subscription the least I should get is a working app, if y’all not capable I hope y’all also not stingy once I dispute that charge

Worse streaming app ever
If I could give this 0/⭐️ I would. This app crashes more than a crash dummy. You always have to force quit or reset your modem. If it wasn’t for the Walking Dead Universe I would not pay for this app att all! Definitely will not renew next year. It’s just not worth the headache. I had hoped they’d get better after the second year but I see there have been absolutely NO improvements!
