Terrible on Mobile IOS
Do not recommend this app for Mobile IOS users.
I purchased and downloaded AnkiMobile in my iPhone and iPad but the experience has been nothing but terrible. Interface is not user friendly and very glitchy. New cards don’t refresh daily so I have to wait days to see new cards and the “custom study” option is inoperative altogether. Therefore, I can’t study new cards nor old ones.
I emphasize, stay way from this app. And I would like a refund.

Overcharged
Claims to be 25 dollars but decided to charge my account 50. This is incredibly scummy if intentional. Otherwise great app… I hope this is just a mistake on apples part.
Almost great, update the app icon to be adaptive and give it more love for the rating it deserves
App icon sticks out like a sore thumb on my home screen, give it the new iOS love it deserves with an adaptable app icon
It’s supposed to be free
Why are you charging for this now? It’s supposed to be free, it was always free and was intended to be free
Real disappointed

Doesn’t Work
Cannot retrieve any information
Syncing is terrible
The app refuses to sync, telling me something - but not what - is too large. Doesn’t matter what I delete.
For $25 I would expect this very basic functionality to work, and it doesn’t. Disappointing.

Charged just for downloading
This app charged me just for downloading it from app store. WTH! I understand in app purchases but this is next level loot.
Broken
Cards keep showing up too soon despite long intervals.
Scammers
This app is used to trick you to think you are paying for education, but they are really using it to steal your money
Cannot import or share
For a $20 app the fact that it will populate on the share list when you download flash card lists is unacceptable. In fact it is impossible to import downloaded cards on iPhone and I have wasted an hour trying. Use a different app.
Not worth it. Horrible interface.
I’ve spent more time trying to learn how to navigate this app than I have actually studying the material I’m supposed to be learning. I don’t understand how the user interface could be so poorly designed. It’s extremely frustrating. Complete waste of time, complete waste of money. I truly don’t understand how this app is so popular.
This app is ruining my motivation to study
I have spent hundreds of hours making cards on this app. Earlier today, it wiped out a whole lectures worth of slides. Tonight I get on to use it and it has wiped out hundreds of my cards. Almost all of my decks are now empty. I am absolutely devestated. I have exams tomorrow and all of my study material is gone even tho I spent 25 dollars on this app.
Awful complicated nonsense
Just allow people to go back to a previous deck with a previous format. Why is this a huge problem? Your “support” forums are useless nonsense too with users answering to absolutely no one with no real answers. No help, no simple solution to simple questions and a ton of options I will never use.
Terrible
Would not sync with anki web. Confusing clunky, wish I could get a refund
DONT DO IT
this is the worst app i have ever used. don’t pay for it. There are unlimited crown sourced pages on how to use this program and i still can’t find and intro on how to start. I don’t get the obsession with documenting this beast. Back to flash cards. I feel cheated and i want my money back
No instructions
I’m still struggling to get Anki on my Apple devices even though I’ve paid $18 for the flash cards and $25 for this apple app. Provide easy directions!!!!!!
Images don’t show
I can’t use the app since the images from anking deck don’t show …. Already tried syncing and still errors …. Don’t make my mistake
wow
way to hard to figure out
im trying to make flashcards not hack into the pentagon

Expensive
Too expensive for what it is
This app is awful
I bought this app and found it was not user friendly. It’s difficult to upload your own files for study. Would not recommend.
The most frustrating app experience ever!
I have spent over 40 minutes trying to figure out how to do a basic task-importing a CSV or TXT file-and NOTHING works. This is easily the most unintuitive app I have ever used.
The app references an "iTunes link," which is completely outdated and irrelevant for a mobile app in 2026. For an app that is extremely expensive compared to others in the category, the UI feels 15 years old and the workflow is a nightmare. There is no direct "import" button for cloud files; instead, you’re stuck in a loop of "invalid zip" errors and "EOCD" messages just trying to load a simple spreadsheet.
I bought this expecting a premium experience, but instead, I got a headache. Extremely frustrating. I want my money back.

Inefficient use of time
There are other apps for spaced repetition that don’t involve spending many hours to learn how to use the app
Not able to share
It claims to be able to be shared but no Apple says that it won’t honor it
Not user friendly
Can’t figure out how to import or find resources easily on how to do it. I’m sure that there’s a way to do it or this app would have zero stars, but the fact that they just drop you in and expect you to fend for yourself without even a tutorial or basic navigation of the app and it’s useful features tells me this app doesn’t deserve more than a 3 stars regardless.
Worthless waste of money
Worthless waste of money
Falsa app
Adquirí esta app pague y no me deja descargar nada de un iPhone deberían mejorar eso ya que es 25 dólares que se les regala y si somos mas personas las estafadas imagínense cuanto dinero regalamos.
App was not user friendly
I was looking for an app that is interactive and user friendly
waste
This software is too difficult to use, there is no voice yet, and there are a lot of useless options.
Unusable, worse than paper
This app is terrible. Both the desktop and phone apps are buggy. Shared decks are poor quality. User Interface is arcane and littered with bizarre terms. You'll have to talk to ChatGPT constantly just to try to use this thing. And in the end, you'll be better off using paper. What a waste.
Terrible UX
The setup is exhausting and not easy to use
Not worth it
I have used Anki on a computer, not bad.
But, on iPhone?
This ‘app’ is
Awkward;
The UI is terrible;
I cannot review cards I need to review-my deck is 2,000 words.
Why must I use a computer to build a new deck?
Why must I review 1,999 words to get back to the word I am learning as new?
I also use Algo App after importing from an Anki Deck, that app needs help, BUT their user experience has been user tested.
Anki has been a waste of time on iPhone.

Difficult to use
This is one of the most difficult, and non-intuitive apps I have ever used. You have to install the laptop app for the phone app to work. I have installed two decks. One of them is supposed to have hundreds of words but it only downloaded nine of them to my phone even though I extended the sync time to over 10 minutes long. I have spent a couple of hours trying to install and use premade decks and all I’ve concluded is I have wasted $25.
Very Barebone for $25
You have to do a lot of cross site data entry to get this thing going. Very very barebone process. That still uses its free platform to create the flashcards.
Fraudulent charge
I did not use or approve a purchase on Anki mobile app but I got charged for $24.99?? I didn’t even enter my credit card information or see any options for purchase, all I did was download the app which was FREE. Then a few days later, the Anki app charges me WITHOUT any prior approval??
Not user friendly.
Not a user friendly, very difficult to use, and a waste of money. Don’t buy it.
Not intuitive
If I could actually get this app to start working on my iPhone I might give it a better ranking. But switching between the app and my laptop and safari on my iPhone just to try and figure out how to use the app, is frustrating to say the least.
DO NOT BUY
absolutely horrible. not worth the $25. i wish i could get a refund for
this stupid app. i expected it to be so nice but apparently you can review your flashcards after you learn them. there’s too many settings and too many options. they over complicated the app. i’m extremely disappointed considering i had to spend $25 just to find out it’s POINTLESS

Useless if you have images
Not a single image loads on this and so my close cards and many others are useless. It’s a ridiculous expensive app for it to not even work. I’ve requested a refund.
Confusing and time consuming
It takes about 20 YouTube videos to figure out how to do anything on this app. I regret spending money on it. It’s technology from 20 years ago. This app should be banned by apple. HORRIBLE!
Update fail
I have always loved Anki, but then I updated the app on my iPhone and I lost over 4,000 images in my cards. I’ve tried so many ways to correct this, and haven’t been able to fix it.. THUMBS WAY DOWN.
Fix the browser
You should be able to read all the text in the sort field in the browser. It's hilariously useless to just look at a few characters at the start and end. The ankidroid folks figured this out ages ago.
I would give 0
According to the book, you have to download the app or go to do something else to get the flashcards. I paid $25 for this. I can’t even use it. I regret this purchase.
COUNT YOUR DAYS
WHAT THE ACTUAL FAWK IS WRONG WITH WINDOWS AND IPAD SYNCHING. HECK I CAN’T EVEN DOWNLOAD THE THING. I’m so mad cuz all the support is centered on macs even on youtube. This was such a waste of money. Not even beginner friendly.
Hate
This app limits daily study and the option only works half of the time that fixes it so some of my decks I can study all the time others I have to manually reset to study multiple times a day
Outdated and Dysfunctional
Not worth the $25. Multiple issues with slowness, account sign-ins, and overall just outdated, there are better options now in 2025, I wish I could get my money back.
Disappointed - Paid Version Doesn’t Work as Expected on iOS
I purchased Anki for both my iPad and iPhone expecting the same reliable experience I have on my MacBook. Unfortunately, the cards I created on my MacBook are not compatible with the iOS version. Syncing and compatibility are supposed to be seamless, but instead I cannot properly use the decks I’ve already invested time in building.
For the price of this app, I expected much better functionality and cross-device integration. On macOS, Anki works fine, but on iPhone and iPad it has been frustrating and feels like wasted money. If you are considering buying this for mobile devices, be aware that you may not get the same experience as on desktop.
I hope the developers address these issues quickly-Anki has so much potential, but the iOS version falls short.

No. Don’t.
Expensive and doesn’t work. I wanted to upload my pre-existing flashcard lists but there’s no way to do this, in any format. Bye bye $25.
Wish I could give it zero
This is the most difficult, unintuitive, useless app I have ever used. The fact it’s $25 is a complete and total ripoff. I will be requesting a refund for this garbage.
Do Not Buy - just use online version
It’s incredible that they charge $25 for this. It’s truly the worst app I’ve ever used.
You cannot download anything directly to your app - you have to download the desktop app via command prompt, which gets caught up in any work computer’s firewall. Once you switch to your personal computer and download the awful desktop app, that’s when you can download shared decks. That’s when you can go into your app and sync it with what you downloaded on your desktop. There’s a 1% value add to having the app via just opening it on your phone’s browser.
