Not much protection
I was told by the ATT agent this app would prevent spam and fraud calls.
Except, I’m getting about 6-10 each day. The app is unreliable. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. And you never know when it’s going to break.
If I were you I’d save the money and go with a plan that doesn’t charge you for Active Armor “protection”, because the intended app doesn’t do its job. You’re just paying AT&T more money for sub-par support.
Except, I’m getting about 6-10 each day. The app is unreliable. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. And you never know when it’s going to break.
If I were you I’d save the money and go with a plan that doesn’t charge you for Active Armor “protection”, because the intended app doesn’t do its job. You’re just paying AT&T more money for sub-par support.

Not free as AT&T customer
It use to be as part of the service when you were a customer, now they want to charge $7 for the full service. New cell phone company here I come!
Spam blocked but hogs 1/3 of the bettery
My spam calls have been substantially reduced with active armor. But now my phone loses power a lot more quickly than it used to. Active armor is the top consumer - 35% and more of the battery!! What is it doing with that power!!

I downloaded active armor because AT&T told me that it’ll block and stop the excessive spam calls. It doesn’t even do that.

Useless
After I downloaded the app, I had even more spam calls come through. Ridiculous! Before the app, the unwanted calls were at least labeled with spam or fraud, etc. now they just call no warning.
Junk doesnt work
lol i get it, syncrony bank must fund att because even tho u block their single number that calls, the number still rings to my phone, I’ve consistently clicked block and it shows blocked but the app refuses to block the number. I don’t want to talk to anyone let alone a bill collector who calls on the nose every time the day i miss a payment. I’m starting to think att was a bad choice for the last 10 years for service
Loss of features
Active armor has discontinued blocking spam and junk text messages and pushed it off to iOS, yet I am still paying the same amount for less.

CPU hog, hot phone, low battery
Uses way too much CPU. Why is it constantly running? It’s should only need CPU when deciding to let in a phone call or a text message. Yet my battery is out by 4PM and the phone says it’s because of this. I don’t even have it on the screen!

Can’t set it up
I am using an iPhone 16. I’ve tried to do set up several times. I mostly get error code 20-42-504 but once got 14-20-22. I tried power cycling my phone, deleting and reinstalling app, etc. It doesn’t work
No call or text filtering
From iOS 27 the app disabled the only useful feature it had.
They trained on our data and then switched the script
Basically, for months, they gave us the basic services for free. I imagine that they were training on our data and trying to see what they could take and what they could find now that they have all that information they switched it to seven dollars a month on top of the fact that they already charge you for the Internet and everything else. To their benefit that they protect our wife wireless routers. It’s pretty evident AT&T is back to their old antics so I’m gonna be searching for a new service soon
Unable to setup ActiveArmor
I bought my iPhone17 on Feb 26, 2026 and I have been unable to setup ActiveArmor. I am getting the error message “Something went wrong. Error 13-20-403”
I reached out to AT&T tech support and they couldn’t fix the issue. I reached out to Apple and since it is a third party app for them, AT&T needs to fix the issue. AT&T said they are aware of the issue and working on it. iPhone17 came out in September 2025, why there are still bugs with the ActiveArmor app?

Battery Usage
App uses 15 to 30% of my battery daily. There are much more efficient security apps to choose from.

This pile of wasted data, for a Fact jeopardized my life! I have a 788 credit score that now I need to closely monitor due to This very app from All Trash & Trouble causing my D.L. #, S.S. #, Health Insurance ID, Address, Phone #’s and only God Knows what else. Do NOT Enter Your Personal Info for so-called Monitoring, they’ll just Sell it off in mere Minutes!!!
Reduced service
Thank you for trying to force me to buy a new phone by taking away service from those of us that cannot afford a $1000 phone . 👎🏼! Great job and thanks for nothing

My iPhone does all the things this claims to do. Reverse phone number look up would of been the only thing it didn’t BUT that is a complete lie. False advertising at its finest.
Reverse lookup only tells you location of area code and if spam risk. Again iPhone does that for me already 🤷🏻♀️.

App is Garbage…
AT&T doubled the Price of the App and unfortunately it no longer works as it should… The Developer can’t seem or doesn’t want to fix it… App won’t retain Information related to E-Mail addresses, Phone Numbers or Finance Information that is Dark Web monitored. Every time there’s an Update to the App all of your monitored information has to be re-input plus you can’t seem to Login on multiple devices with the same Username or Password, as you need a different Login and Password for each Device. The App is now Garbage and doesn’t function as it should or as it used to. Don’t waste your Money.
ActiveArmor won't work on iOS 15.6
I believe AT&T should provide more options for users with older iPhones. I am paying for ActiveArmor/VPN, but it doesn't work on my iOS 15.6. Apple is equally responsible for this issue. I'm disappointed.

Destroying my battery
Takes up 10% of my entire battery from 30min of background activity. Not sure how that’s even possible lol check your battery health in settings to see if it’s happening to you too

This app never opens on iOS. I’ve updated it, updated my phone, reinstalled it, rebooted my phone. Never opens.

Good from far, however, far from good.
In the beginning this app seemed like it was everything I wanted in mobile protection. For starters it’s not free for me and I’m with AT&T’s FirstNet program. It does come free for those outside of FirstNet if you’re only with AT&T. That’s a bummer but I can get over that. What I can’t get over is the fact that it significantly reduces my internet speed by like 50% and I got an iPhone 17pro. It doesn’t allow me to access my healthcare benefits with the military and as a result, I’m currently locked out of my account and need to call TRICARE to have them unlock my account. All this because it wouldn’t fully load the page. Yet my iPad that’s also connected with FirstNet and WITHOUT ActiveArmor loads just fine. The message I got was “To Many Failed Attempts”. I don’t know how when I unlocked it with my FACE!!!! But the app will warn the hell out of you when you disconnect and reconnect to some good WiFi only to slow down the speeds again by like 50%. So it’s a lose lose. Your best bet is delete the app and enjoy that 5G+ without ActiveArmor throttling/reducing your internet speeds and locking you out of much needed access to YOUR accounts.

Constantly getting spam calls about tax resolution services. Worked great at first, but after 30 days it turned into trash.

Battery Drain
This app has been draining my phone battery. Taking 60%+ usage and my phone needs recharging after only a few hours.
Used to be great!
This app has been great for the last two years and after the last update the VPN keeps turning off in less than a minute after I toggle it on. So now the “safe browsing” function no longer works and does not scan any URL’s. The app also deleted all of my information that was input for security monitoring. Pain in the bum to re-enter all that info again. Unfortunately If I can’t get it to work again I just might switch to another company.
Adds nothing
The app uses your phone’s already built in spam filtering. Meaning it adds no value or additional features but will happily take your credit card.

The app is a terrible at resource management. My phone battery was getting drained down to under 10% daily. Looked at battery usage and found it was this app sucking up 60-70% of battery in a day. Makes you wonder what nefarious activity they have going on in the background. Delete app, don’t use!

As I am downloading this app, I am having a input my credit card number. AT&T stating that it is free! Please explain why I cannot use this app when it is free according to my cell service?

No whitelisting
I am an AT&T customer and a small business owner. I have raised multiple instances to try to whitelist my business website, there is no process. My website is not malicious although AT&T’s active armor flags it as malicious. I even visited an AT&T shop and tested my website with the store tools for web safety. Everything was ok. Terrible unilateral judgement.
The Price Increase is Outrageous
AT&T is just forcing the price increase for the credit monitoring down our throats. I don’t want this service and I certainly don’t want this service from AT&T for $36 a year. I already have this service from another provider that I’m very happy with. They should make this optional. Just AT&T once again gouging their customers for more money.

Doesn’t work and destroys battery
My battery is draining super fast lately. I noticed in settings that this app alone has drained 17% of my phone battery today. I open the app to see what could be the issue. I see that it has not analyzed any calls in the past 8 months despite the service being included in my cell plan. I continue to get daily spam calls. So what is the app doing and why is it burning so much battery?
ActiveArmor cannot un block numbers
Spent over hour with chat and tech support. Critical number from contacts list shows blocked in ActiveArmor only. Cannot unblock. Only solution is uninstall ActiveArmor.
Killing my battery
On iOS 26.4 this app is just burning through my battery. So far today it alone has used 14%. This is an app that is never opened and just works in the background and yet it’s using more battery than anything else on my iPhone. How?
Don’t even work
I’ve downloaded, deleted and re-downloaded four times. When I open the app, it tells me that I need cellular data to continue and I need to change this in my settings. My cellular data is on, I’m also connected to Wi-Fi and it still won’t go past the first screen very aggravating.

Recently updated my phone to the 17 pro max and now I can’t use the app anymore give this error” not eligible your device must be enabled with AT&T HD Voice to use this service “ I’ve contacted support multiple times, I’ve had them a ticket has been put in as well still no update one the issue. Something Broke
This app used to work great and now it’s just nothing but problems. I have the advanced option included with my plan and when I try to use the app it keeps reverting me to the “free” one, even though the advanced is free for me and then wants be to “upgrade” by setting up a subscription through Apple. It’ll randomly say I need to be off WiFi for it to work, won’t let me connect it to my actual AT&T account at all, just completely broken from when it was at least pretty good before.
