Aspect ratio doesn’t work on iPad mini
I played the ordinals on PC many years ago and the enhanced editions are great except for the aspect ratio not going full screen on iPad mini.
Game does not appear to function any more
I was unable to get through the tutorial due to various bugs. The most common was that a spell information screen would refuse to go away, thus blocking further interaction with the game until I force-quit the app. There were other issues as well, such as touch targets not registering repeatedly, and their “app support” link leading to an abandoned website.
I sought out their support forum but received no reply.

Unplayable on a phone
I’ve got a 15ProMax and the game is absolutely unplayable. Everything is too small to see, maybe it would be OK on an iPad.
Not appropriate for a phone
Brilliant game, really not appropriate for a phone. Tiny text, tiny buttons and no option to change that. There’s quite a few reviews stating the opposite and they steered me wrong. Perhaps the iPad experience is better but I could tell within seconds that this is not a game to be played on the phone.

I tried it on my phone and ipad. Far too difficult to tap the tiny little buttons. Barely got through the tutorial. Looks like i need to wait for the payment to process before requesting a refund.

Way waaaay too much to learn. Interface is a nightmare. Why did I have to pay $10 for this, before realizing how awful this would be?
Piece of Crap
I’m using an Ipad Pro. It could be my mistake and is not compatible, because I was unable to start the game at all. All I got was marching music, graphics, character generation, and the rest was unclickable windows.
A complete mystery

I use to be able to open custom portraits on this game but after a patch it is now impossible. Why would you remove this feature?

Waste - NOT THE PC GAME YOU LOVED AT ALL
Truly terrible rendition of a great game. Tiny, Tiny Tiny characters and that is on an IPAD Pro. Just not playable. Not worth the money at all. Once you see the free games with great play and graphics like Evil Lands or Anima ARPG you realized you got fleeced. This is not anything like the PC versions.

I wanted this to be great, or even just good. It’s not. The iPad controls make this impossibly frustrating to play.
Key Character Personalities Destroyed
Great game. Some significant changes were made to several characters to cater to a very small minority that might play this game, and the personalities were stripped from a couple characters, fairly important ones. This is how you ruin a game. Luckily it’s still playable but I’m really disappointed about Jaheira and Safana. It’s just not the same game. Would get 5 stars from me but guess I will just go back to PC. Not cool. With all the other crap that is happening in this world like humans being sold and bought and 10 million people dying from smoking related causes and governments working with cartels to traffic drugs somehow this is offensive and unacceptable? These changes are so out of touch and need to be an option called |_| POLITICALLY CORRECT

Love the Game BUG issues
The game freezes about as you load it. The dialogue box doesn’t open and close properly. So game is impossible without that feature.
Constantly crashes...AVOID
Can’t play more than a few moments before the game freezes and has to be force-closed. I bought this game to play on my iPad Air, but it’s unplayable. Off-loaded apps, cleared RAM, reset, restarted...NOTHING changes the issue, so it’s obviously a game-specific problem. Talk about a waste of $$ and time.
Great game for the pc
Great game for the pc. Unfortunately horrible game for the phone. Being a direct port and not made for the phone the games text is way to small to read. And much of the game is unplayable because you can’t see what you need to see because it’s all to small.

The “Done” button of item/spell descriptions gets hidden behind the bottom menu and is not press-able. Every time this happens (about 1/3 times I look at an item or spell) I have to restart the game from a save.

Have current version of iPadOS (13.6) and of game. No fix.
Horrible glitch.
Will request a refund and avoid games like this in the future.

Terrible Gameplay!
My husband and I played Baldur’s Gate on our original X-Box, and loved the game. When I saw it was available on the iPad, I had to give it a try. The gameplay is absolutely terrible on the iPad. I got stuck in the tutorial, with little guidance on what to do. Moving around isn’t easy, nor is using a spell or attacking someone. The touch screen just doesn’t work well. If you don’t touch in exactly the right place, you can’t do anything. And the graphics make it very hard to know what spells you have available, as they are not described without a hard press and hold, and the images are hard to see. (I have a 9.7” screen, too.)
Disappointing
I loved this game during my youth and was looking forward to playing it again. The screen size is so small it’s almost impossible to play. It took me at least 15 minutes to just make a character. Once the game loaded I was already done with moving forward. Good by hard earned money :(
Horrible UI
This is the most horrendous tutorial for any app I’ve ever encountered. I can’t get past the flipping tutorial to review anything about the game. The tutorial does not give enough information to accomplish the given tasks without constantly googling for help. The game constantly spams you with messages while trying to figure it out. I have never been so frustrated with any game or app ever. Did anyone test this crap? I should not have to have experience with the game on pc before using it on iPad. I should not have to google for help to get past a flipping tutorial!

I really want to play this game but its so buggy that I cant pass tutorial. I keep getting stuck and starting over. I wish I can get refund for my money.
Boring
The game is a port from Windows, and very old. Very pixelated. Very boring. If you have “romantic” or nostalgic feelings for this one, maybe you’ll like it. But if you’re looking for something honestly engaging, look elsewhere.
Not worth 9.99
Very difficult to play on iPhone I don’t recommend getting. First 30 minutes into game, glitches out and whole team was attacking each other. Total waste of 9.99....

Terrible fighting mechanics
Thought this game was going to be amazing, then I get into my first battle with a basic level 1 wolf. My character did 15 slashes and missed every single strike, and if it wasn’t for imoen, I would have died. Second wolf same story. I chose a fighter class and can’t fight apparently. If the fights are going to be this boring and take this long to kill even a basic level 1 enemy, the rest of the game seems like it’s going to be a slow slog. I’m sorry I don’t think it should take 110 strikes to defeat an enemy. Who has the time and patience for that?
Runs well but I can’t see
Everything is so small I can’t see anything. It is unplayable even when I turned the font size all the way up. It’s a shame but I will be returning this game.

Hi. There is no fullscreen support on iPad pro 11 2021.
Not great on a phone
You can’t zoom in so it’s hard to read any of the information when choosing a character. Hopefully it’s easier when playing if I can squint enough to get that far.

Screen has shrunk - help devs!
On my iPad Pro, the Beamdog and D&D screen are full size, but the Tutorial/Baldur’s Gate start screen are MINUTE. I’ve clicked through to begin a game, the map and play screen are full screen, but all the icons are small as well.

Restore Data
So I do enjoy this game and have played it on and off, I have purchased ALL dlc to all the games and when I re downloaded the first game it’s letting me I have to purchase the content again. But on the App Store it says purchased? Is there a way to actually get the dlc back without buying it again?
Nearly impossible to play on iPhone SE
UI is scaled incredibly poorly for mobile, with no options for larger buttons/zoom in the menu.
Good game, but has problems
I have only played the first part of this game, but it seems to be a good port of the PC classic. I have noticed in the last 2 days that the game has been crashing when I play the black pits. Is there a solution for this issue?
