This app literally lies to make you think you’re getting a good deal and makes you sign up for a bunch of junk for the coupons only to say things like the coupon doesn’t apply to whatever is in the bag, without even explaining it! Or it’ll say that the coupon is applied when it did literally nothing to the overall price, literally a bunch of junk, they’re definitely doing it on purpose.

I wanted to download your App today. Well that’s not going to happen. 1st you made me setup a password word to download your App. That wasn’t enough, I still couldn’t download the app unless I gave you my credit card information.

Belk keeps canceling orders.
Unreliable, deceptive, false advertising. Over a span of months they have canceled multiple orders without explanation. The item I have been attempting to purchase is still advertised as in stock, on sale, in my size. Every time I purchase it, I receive an order confirmation, only to receive another email DAYS later saying they had to cancel and refund my order. The item remains advertised as in stock on their website. I have reached out to customer service about this issue and received a canned non-answer apology twice. For a large company how are their technical issues and customer service so bad? If the item is not in stock in a certain size, do not clearly label the item as IN stock in that size. Don’t send a confirmation email for an item you don’t have. Don’t let glitches sit for MONTHS once they’re brought to your attention. You have heavy competition out there, prioritize the user experience, or users will move on.

This app is a joke just to get people in the stores. Everything I browse on the app and get drawn in by the price doesn’t matter. When you get to the store and pick out the same dang item it rings up higher than the app. It’s a misleading joke. I bought a blazer today that was supposed to be 75$ but naturally when I check out they tell me it’s actually 87.50$. I’ll shop elsewhere for now on.

AI is no replacement for actual customer service
Before the most recent update, this application would have warranted a 3/5 review. Stodgy technical difficulties, some outdated UI and UX elements, but it was passable. The half baked, and shoddily integrated AI assist system was mostly easy to ignore. Now? That selfsame pile of drivel-code AI is -front and center- on the UI, taking up the middle of the Navigation bar. For an arm of the retail industry that’s supposed to put guest comfort and confidence first, putting the service in the “hands” of an algorithm is frankly demeaning. AI has no place in customer service settings, it only serves to attempt to replace the human element in a profoundly cheap fashion.
App Always Crashes
I rarely buy anything bc the app on iPad and iPhone crashes constantly. I make sure I have all the correct updates and versions. It never fails. I’ll looking now and it’s crashed 3 times in 10 min. I power cycle my devices and it doesn’t help. I hate using the website bc I can’t even get into my account. I love the store but what a pain.

You can look at clothes but you can not check out or add things to cart. It’s a struggle to do anything on this app. I’m over here tying to buy things and it’s so difficult and just impossible :(
The app is a pain
I have been shopping on my iPad through the app for years. Now the Belk app won’t let me on anymore. It says that I need to update it. But when I try to update it says my iPad won’t support it. So aggravating.

App Will Not Open
Each time I try to open the app, it freezes up and has an error message. Then, “retry.” I can’t even get into it to use it. I’ve deleted it and re-uploaded it several times to only get the same message. It is so frustrating. It was not like this initially. The problem began around September 2024. Help!
Can’t order
The app won’t let me review my bag . It keeps kicking me out of the app when I hit bag button . I have used this app many times in the past . Now for Christmas can’t order through the app .

Can’t add items to cart since update
Love some of the features on the new update - specifically save for later in cart menu! But ever since updating the app, every time I try to add an item to my cart I get a message that says “hook execution error.” This makes it impossible to shop on the app, which effectively renders it useless. Hope this gets fixed. I will happily upgrade my review to five stars if so.

Once you get your filters set up and are paging through 20 pages of possibilities, but need to deal with life when you hit page 12, so you step away from your iPad and return to your search in 30 minutes, or the next day, or five minutes…be ready to start all over again because the app restarts and goes back to the Home page.
Only shopping app I use that does this.

Why do I waste my time?
There are definite reasons why I prefer the app over my web browser, but overall I despise getting all of my filters set exactly the way I want them, sorting the results exactly the way I want them only to start looking and get distracted by anything. When I leave the app and return to it-whether it’s five minutes or five hours, I want to be able to pick up where I left off, but nope it takes me right back to the homepage. And my filters and my search have to start from the beginning, it is absolutely annoying!
Frustrating app
I am never able to pay my bill with the app. App never recognizes my password and user ID combo!!! Works great when I want to purchase something. I am frequently having to request a new password because of this app’s lack of memory. I’m beyond frustrated.
Glitchy
I hate when I want to purchase at belk simply because the app is so glitchy and not seamless at all. I feel like there is so much more potential.
Does not sync with website
I don’t understand how such a basic thing is still not available. The app does not sync with the website. If I add items to my cart in the app, they don’t show up in my cart on the website even though I am logged into the same account. I can’t even access my favorite items from the app to the website. So ridiculous!
Broken app
How is the app so broken that Apple Pay doesn’t work for payments? Literally can’t process an order without saving my CC to belk which I won’t do. No wonder belk is in the same boat JCP was a few years ago.
