Good idea but needs work
This would be a very useful tool, but like the other review states, it fails to differentiate between hardcover and paperback, or generally which edition any particular book is when image scanning. It also appears only to search Amazon listings for prices (for US users at least), and it sometimes gets the book wrong completely. It only gives you a few free scan credits before you need to pay for a plan, so you can only do minimal testing of its ability. And the results were not worth paying for a subscription. But I do hope they improve functionality.
Can’t differentiate PB and HC
This app can’t differentiate between paperbacks and hardcover books. If you have more time, just using an LLM describing your books and providing pictures will give you a better result. I didn’t bother looking at how much it cost to get additional scans, but I can’t imagine it would be worth it with how it is working and it’s current state.
It needs to be able to differentiate between hardbacks and paperbacks for it to be a truly useful product.
