Just not right…
Ok so I spent $82.93 for the OBDLINK CX that bummer recommended for use with BimmerCode, BimmerLink which for the things simple like registering battery you need both which to bad isn’t in one app but ok. BUTT then to only be able to connect and read ANYTHING is crazy I mean you can’t even tap and read more information about a code you are SEE ONLY can’t delete codes NOTHING AGSIN SEE ONLY. And BimmerCode is AGAIN NOTHING but SEE ONLY but here is just a huge cool list of codes that your car has available and which ones are in red guessing are the ones given trouble codes..but now their is absolutely NO discount for buying their recommended obd reader no discount for buying both apps licenses and no discounts when buying all three together. So use caution do what you have to. But at the end of the day you can have $170-$175.00 into the obd read and the two apps.. sure would link that bummer would offer SOME SORT OF A discount for buying both apps full licensing especially if buying both apps full license and the reader..

I purchased this app to register a new battery installation and it did not work.
Overcharged for app!
The app is priced at 39.99 but when I downloaded it I was charged 61.97 what is up with that? Can I get a refund or do I need to dispute the charge?
Issues
They take forever to bring in a update. There are duplicated names and a lot of bugs so far.
Not working
I’ll give it one star until it works. 2005 BMW 325I and will not connect. My OBD IS connected to Bluetooth but that’s about it. The app won’t work.
2023 BMW 740i
Beware, this app deceives you into believing that most of its advertised features are compatible with the G70 platform. In reality, very few features are compatible, and the developers are aware of this but refuse to revise the compatibility. This is a blatant example of false advertising.
Request Refund
I would really like my money back and not have this app. I needed to register a battery to an X6 last night so I regretfully signed up just to discover that I can’t use the app without having an OBD adapter. Since I didn’t have one I couldn’t use this app and have no need for it.
OBDLink CX doesn’t work anymore
Please update your app to continue working with the OBDLink adapters. You charged so much money and then just dropped the support without warning? I hope the app just needs an update, otherwise gotta request a refund.
No longer works for mini Cooper
I’ve purchased this app back in August 2025, for specific purpose of deactivating the active sound design on my mini Cooper. However, I did not know that mini Cooper updated it software this year that now makes BimmerCode useless for coding. Buyer beware. I paid $50 for nothing..
Doesn’t work for G01 X3
Tried with the OBDLink MX+ and the OBDlink CX and neither work connecting to a G01 X3 (2023). Waste of money and time, says it’s supported but isn’t
Do Not Purchase
I purchased this app after buying the required connection cables so I could add CarPlay to our BMW X3. Only AFTER purchasing and downloading and paying another $9.99 for CarPlay in app feature, does it state you need CarPlay already available on your vehicle. The app also is tricky to get connected to the vehicle. This app and the videos online that demo it are very deceiving. I’ve requested a refund from Apple. Waste of $50. Even if Apple refunds that money, I am out $40 which I paid for the cables. . Do Not Purchase.

$39.99 scam
Bought the app thinking I could use it to code but it doesn’t do anything different than any other standard scanner app… Tried getting the full version of BimmerCode since this is the only app that I can buy from the App Store but it’s not the BimmerCode full version.
Only useable one one device.
Purchased on my iPhone for diagnostics on wife’s car (don’t want to hold onto her phone all afternoon getting it greasy and what not). Now wife can’t use app on her phone to monitor issue while driving (specifically engine temp and oil level in this situation). Upgraded to android tablet to use with OBD reader on other vehicles but would have to purchase this app AGAIN to use on it on tablet.

Purchased app to hopefully get faster reading for diagnosing my vehicle. 2005 5 series. It says in the description that my car is compatible basically just readjng the batterh and clearing codes not a single point of actual data then i go to switch over to my other vehicle and it will not let me connect even manually connecting my phone to the dongle before opening the app i would assume it is some sort of way to keep you using it on your friends vehicles. I have 7 cars so if thats the case it is really a terrible design because i know i am definitely not the only person with more than one BMW.

be careful downloading this app. They charge me $40 for nothing. I didn’t even use the app yet. All I did was download it and a few days later I got billed $40 for no reason I didn’t pay for any service or any sub subscription with them and they still charged me for no reason at all.

CarPlay feature does not work
Save the $10 and don’t get the CarPlay feature. Just paid for it on a 2020 X5 and it does not work. The message on the Idrive screen keeps telling me to open the iPhone app and select sensors for the dashboard even though I already have. Oh and you can’t get your money back so that’s nice for the app developer I guess?
Won’t connect
Even with every known workaround attempted,still refuses to connect. I even purchased the enet cable promoted by these guys.
Unacceptable $9.99 option
The main app is generally ok probably I’d give it like 3-4 stars, although limited and sometimes it cannot clear some errors or infos. But, I want to complain about this $9.99 carplay option: I cannot believe they have released such a crappy $9.99 option. This would not be acceptable even for free. It’s basically just a small list which takes forever to connect initially, then does not update properly but rather like every 10-20 seconds. When you switch from the app to say home screen or music or something else it disconnects and you have to go through the whole process again... all this while you’re driving... not to mention the information on the list is so small you can barely notice the parameters while driving... and it costs $9.99… in 2024… I’m genuinely impressed how they have failed us so bad and I wonder who was the persom that finally gave it the green light to deploy this thing :|

2018 MINI Clubman battery reset failure
I purchased BimmerLink and a OBDLinkCX. It was supposed to be able to perform a battery reset. However, when I tried this BimmerLink simply returned a Failure message.
App said it was free
They charged me and didn’t even tell me it was $35. It said free it didn’t even give me option to purchase or I would’ve backed out please fix this’
Can’t still use the app and no customer support either
I decided to purchase the after watching couple YouTube videos ( paid ads) to see what really it can do. I went to bimmer’s website to find compatible adaptor obdlink CX; was one of the recommended adaptor so I purchased it on Amazon then I received the adaptor today then try to connect it to app. While trying to figure out how to set up the adapter in the app, this recommended adaptor on the bimmer’s website was not even supported. Such a disappointment!! I can’t still even use the app and bought an recommended adaptor that can be used with the app. If I want to use the app, I need to buy another adaptor. I did absolutely not like this. I have emailed the support team but I have not heard back from them either!!

I tried activating service mode for nearly 3 minutes and it wouldn’t do it. Just errors from the app. But when you hit deactivate it surely did that lol, weird. It says deactivated successfully. It was not in service mode and you don’t hear the motor running. I did the basic troubleshooting disconnect the OBD from car. Deleting the app etc.
start playin with it again and same thing it would not activate device mode only errors errors errors until I hear the motor start winding after multiple attempts. It still did not pull that piston back. We had to resort to manual work disconnecting the EPB actuator & plug then fight to wind the part in. Took us sometime. The job is done mechanically with my park brake not working and for 2 days since buying the sub the app is no help activating nor deactivating. I disconnect battery for 15, tried button steps nothing works. Reset impossible on dash for rear.

Had high hopes, but disappointed.
I bought this to do brake service on front and back brakes of my 2020 bmw 22i gran coupe xDrive (f44). I tried to reset service counter that said I still had 800 miles. Failed. Can’t reset from this app. Tried to set rear brakes in service mode, I heard them retract but app said it failed that too. I changed the rears and elected to take out of service mode and that surprisingly was successful. Tried to reset service counter for the rears and it also failed. So now I have to take it to my mechanic on my upcoming oil change to have him reset those. I’m disappointed! This experience was horrible. It doesn’t even show a battery registered to my car… what gives?!
Temp heads up!! OBDlink CX no longer works
As of the last release the OBDlink CX no longer works. It’s worked for years!
The decide still works with the OBDlink app, so appears to be Bimmer specific.

Would give it 3 stars but.....
It does the simple job, if it worked on both my pc and apple devices I’d use it more than ista and protool. Honestly better off getting bimmmer geeks pro tool on a dedicated android device.
Not impressed
Just bought this app, and paid the 50$ for the expert bimmercode app so I could reprogram my battery. App is telling me the charge is 28% and will not register correctly. Battery is brand new bought last night and tested at 98%. Unless bimmerlink addresses whatever issues they have I would not recommend this app nor recommend spending the money on it.
CarPlay App disconnects and bugs out the selector
Purchased the app solely for CarPlay compatibility and when it works it’s satisfactory. When it doesn’t work, you have to quit CarPlay, reconnect the iPhone app and relaunch the CarPlay app which is very dissatisfying. Also, I’ve noticed on multiple occasions that while using the CarPlay app, the selector window that I use in conjunction with the dial mouse in the middle console will disappear forcing me to use the touch screen or restart the car or my phone. Also, the app never remembers what Bluetooth adapter you connected to last and makes you reconnect every time you get in the car which is annoying.
