I had this game for over a year, loved it when it first came out. All the different life events that could occur was random, funny, sad, enjoyable just like real life. Recently the game has taken small strides for improving the game instead they have added a lot of new features that want your money, and even changed old free features into a money scheme. Cutting your hair? 4.99. Worst way to kill an app? Get greedy. Attempted again after about a year. Still more money added features. It doesn’t let you actually pursue your goals. It puts money walls in the way. Also after purchasing their career packs which stated all future careers were included? Turns out that wasn’t true. Because now ultimate fighter has been added and it’s a new fee as well.
Gradual Decline, Cash Grab
This game has drastically gone down hill as the years have gone on. I remember purchasing God Mode when the game first came out, you’d never have to pay for updates. When the new owners took over they reversed that. Despite me having that purchase they didn’t honor it. Then they continued to roll out new updates, additions to the game, but each one costs $5-$8. I’ve purchased a couple, one being the “job pack.” This has only existed since the new company was in place. They claimed you would have access to new career options they made in game as they rolled them out. After a couple, they stopped making them altogether. It was a waste of money and incredibly disappointing. Instead they chose to make new “packs” you can purchase but their theme has always been to make one or two so packs are genuinely useless. Or they make updates that require payment to utilize that are $7 each and have no specific category so they can continue to squeeze every penny out of their customer base. It’s just a bad game now ran by a bad company.
Everything is gone
Had bit life on my last 2 phones, purchased bitizen and god mode and now all of that is gone. Don’t give this company any of your money!

I hate to have to do this because this is one of my favorite mobile games, but the paywalls are way too excessive. Even the good reviews are complaining about it but the devs never respond once. I paid for multiple different passes like bitizen and boss mode, and now they’re completely useless. How can you be so heartless?
Robbing my money
They release jobs as expansion packs so people who bought the job packs do not receive it. Boxing should count as a job, a professional athlete but it instead is its own expansion pack. This company is a scam

I played it for the first time in forever. And when I played it I was a child from Germany, every thing was at its Max until I got sick and a option called “Pray” came up, it asked me to watch a adds, ONE OF MANY ADDS. And I refused it, so what the “BitLife Devs” (basically a religion in the game I guess). They pretty much gave me stage 5 lung cancer and killed my 87 year old life, mind you I watched thousands of adds to get to what I had, I had 4B€. Not as fun as I remember. If there was a 0 star option I would choose it. Not as fun as i remember it being.
Pay To Play
The majority of the game is blocked by a paywall. The price of said paywall is $15. That’s way too much for a simple mobile game. When I first played this game a few years ago, it only cost I think 3 or 4 dollars for everything. And don’t expect to keep everything if you delete the game and redownload it. It’s a complete sham as they try to make you fork out money. Don’t waste your time on this game that was once good now turned greedy and a sell out.

So all of the ads show false gameplay, all of the special careers cost about 10 dollars and even if you pay for no ads it will give you ads in the gameplay saying “I have been thinking what my life could be as a dog, maybe I should play doglife!”

Too many notifs
Whatever event they’re doing right now notifies me about once an hour. Sometimes two or three times. It is annoying as all get out. It has never done this before. I will change my review when either the event or the notifications stop.

I love this game, I want more though, it has so much potential being wasted.
BitLife is super fun, I love it, just a couple thoughts, I wish when you’d get married, that you’d have your spouses family to interact with as well. Like sister/brother in laws, or mother/father in laws. Also, aunts and uncles, I feel like that would be really cool. For instance, when your character has siblings you get to interact with your nieces and nephews, I just wish you had aunts and uncles as well. (plus grand parents potentially)
Another thing, let’s say your parents religiousness is super high, I wish the higher the religiousness, the more likely they won’t accept you for being gay or trans or something. Maybe sometimes there’s a pop up saying your parents don’t support you, and depending on how high the religiousness the stricter parents are. Maybe when it’s maxed out they kick you out and you have to pay for everything yourself, like doctors(if you’re playing in us) and just general living expenses. Just a thought though, would make it a lot more interesting. (sort of like the abandon option when you have kids) also, when you figure out youre gay(or trans) it has another option like “i’m gay, but don’t come out” like choosing not to.
Furthermore, focusing on children and fertility, when you have children from a previous relationship, and marry someone new, and they also have kids from a previous relationship, your new spouses kids show up on your current characters list, but yours don’t show up on theirs, it’s very frustrating. That could be manageable, BUT, when you’re a lesbian and marry a woman as a woman, and choose artificial insemination, the child you birth is written as your wife’s STEP child, therefore, that child doesn’t show up on your wife’s list of children. It’s pretty annoying.
Final note, PLEASE, if you don’t do anything else, do this paragraph. For your list of children, it’ll show the names and ages, until you reach more than 4 kids, then it just shows the number of kids you have, as someone who likes to birth a lot of kids in my game and check how old they are all the time, this is SUPER annoying, i wish the cut off was AT LEAST 10 children. With that in mind, the cut off of 4 goes on to everyone, i REALLY wish my children in the game could have more than 4 children without pressuring. For your characters kids, they can only have 4 kids naturally, i really really hate that damn cut off.

Please please, i freaking beg you to let it be more likely for a spouse to use IVF when you’ve been trying for a kid to no avail, my spouses NEVER let me use IVF and i love a fertility issue story, gosh plz bro. It’s genuinely so frustrating.

Money grab
I've been here since the beginning bought the no-ads option and the starter pack to support the game. Took a break for about a year, came back, and there are now 30+ packs for what feels like everything. It's a letdown. This game has real potential, but the monetization has gotten out of hand.
