Useless AI assistant, and only a push to buy the newest thing camera.

Stop pushing the free AI trial!
Please stop pushing out the free AI trial. First I am not interested as it is unreliable and really not necessary in my opinion. Also it’s causing a 3 minute delay in getting notifications. Otherwise I’ve been happy overall with my doorbell and cameras. When you stop trying to push the AI on me I’ll update this review to 5 star. Thanks!

Fake notification
It keeps saying a person is sitting on a couch and motion is detected. When I see past clips only ten seconds long and there is no person sitting and there is no motion detected. If a person sitting on a couch can’t the camera detect when a person getting in home before sitting?? There is huge rain coat I put on couch maybe that coat hood looks a person to the camera, A person and an object don’t recognize??

I turned off notification for a while Because I don’t want to get random notification but then motion Captured clips won’t be saved ☹️. There is not even one clip for a whole week. You get what you paid.

Blink doesn’t work anymore.
I used it for years to record animals in back yard. Now I get message that I need to update. But, it doesn’t update because my iPad is too old. Why doesn’t it work as always did?
Very mediocre
I have had two broken blink cameras, either from falling or just stopped working. I bought them two years ago and have consistently had to change the batteries monthly. I cannot exaggerate that enough. The cameras don’t catch everything they aren’t the best. They should definitely be doing better, especially when we pay what we pay.

App worked fine in the past, gets all the auto updates but I try and open it now and it says it needs an update, I open App Store to update it and it already is updated with an ‘Open’ button.. Click the open button and it takes me back to the original message that says I have to update it to use it.

Spy camera you put up
Blink camera systems owned now by Amazon shares your picture information even though you may explicitly have said do not. Get these cameras out of your house as soon as you can and buy a real local System. All of your images are stored on Amazon servers, and our subject to the securities on those servers. And although Amazon may swear up and down, they don’t do anything - I wouldn’t trust a billionaire with my data.

The blink scam
They blackmail you into having to buy a subscription or nothing will be recorded. They offer a module that they claim will record on a usb memory drive but it won’t and when you call customer service they just jerk you off forever blaming you and fixing nothing.

Ever since we have purchased the 4 cameras and module they haven’t ever really worked correctly, for instance you can rarely ever see a live view even when at home , it will just spin and spin and spin, they go offline a lot which results in deleting and reconnecting like they are brand new, takes time for no reason.
Replace the front doorbell batteries and the indicator on the app still shows red and tells me to roll e batteries

Audio doesn’t work
For the most part my Blink system is reliable with video. Note: for the most part. The audio on the cameras never seems to work when I need it. I’ve updated the app at every offered update. I’ve removed the devices from the app and added them back. I’ve restarted the cameras. It seems when I delete the app and add it back, the audio will work for one or two interactions and then stop. I feel like this is an important part of using the Blink app. Idk, maybe just me. UPDATE: Reached out to support. They told me to go home and reset the cameras. I mean….if I was home I wouldn’t need the cameras..? Support is unhelpful and over the several years I’ve had these cameras they’ve been pretty rude each time I had to interact.
Poor quality product
Our exterior cameras are off-line because of a ‘sync’ issue 90% of the time. The interior cameras take forever to open, and IF they do, the quality is awful.
Low quality and buggy app
Had these cameras for a while and they are finicky at best I found. Losing connection often. The app is buggy cameras show a spinning wheel most often and don’t load any view of where they’re monitoring. I totally regret buying these.
Worst ever!!
Every evening my wired spotlight camera goes off line and starts blinking red, I’ve reset it and powered it down still everyday it goes offline these products are junk and support is beyond a joke. You can’t even update the firmware by touching an update option cause it doesn’t exist, I highly recommend using a different company.
Poor app
I have several older iPads. Blink will not work on them due to updates. Fix this or I am going elsewhere an sell the camera I have, cancel the cloud.
Slow/ laggy
Way to much lag when I try to view a camera. It’s also very slow to pull it up. When I get a notification of a person on my door. Either they are already gone or they can’t hear what I’m saying when I try to talk thru the camera.

No connection
The app updated and all my clip history is gone and I can’t use live view, I keep getting error 406. I completely closed the app, no fix, restarted my device no fix, uninstalled and reinstalled, well, now I can’t even login to my account I’m not even taken to the login screen I’m immediately met with a black screen that says 406 not acceptable!!!! Please fix ASAP!!!

Terrible product
Camera frequently needs to be reconnected, almost every two weeks. The app is useless and just sends you to a website version. I have to hop between several web broswers to use because it wont let you type into the login line most the time.
Fix the ad screen !
Why is the ad for your subscription AI continuing to pop up and I have to go through all the prompts to even view my cameras! Your app sucks - FIX THIS ISSUE!!!!

Motion zones
The motion zones don’t work. You can block areas that you don’t want it to record motion but it will do it anyways constantly recording everything and killing your battery. They need to fix this but they won’t because they want to keep selling batteries on amazon.
Blink review
The app never works, if I can get it to open it’ll freeze within seconds. We’ve dealt with it for months with no fix, time to switch unfortunately.

why would i want to buy a camera for my family safety and then pay a monthly fee to even see events that happened throughout the day. oh no someone broke in and stole your stuff should’ve just paid the subscription now you have nothing for the police. i could actually buy a amazon camera for 15 bucks and won’t have to pay for a subscription. the camera sometimes doesn’t even work when viewing from you phone, it well stop after 10 seconds asking if you want to continue as if i lost interest and it mostly just freezes or loads for a long time. imagine im talking to someone on my phone and i gotta ask them to repeat the last 20 seconds of what they said because the camera freezes every 10 seconds.
App is terrible
Good luck getting to view your camera. If you have a multiple camera set up it’s almost impossible to check them all. They will sit there and buffer forever and some of them you won’t be able to check the live view for hours. Blink Customer Support does literally nothing for you. They made me reset all my sync modules take down all my cameras change all the batteries and they really put me through it. Until we came to no resolution and they left me hanging.
Always buffering and terrible battery!
About 40% of the time I try to look at the camera it sits and buffers and I can’t even see it. The battery is supposedly to last up to 2 years….haven’t even had them for a week and the battery needs replaced.
Scam, you buy their devices and they become bricks if you don’t subscribe

It’s time for a real security system
I purchased these cameras after dealing with a home invasion. These cameras have not helped me have a peace of mind or a sense of peace since I purchased them unfortunately, our outdoor cameras are so sensitive to everything whether it be too cold outside or too hot. The battery life last about a month unfortunately for us we have our cameras mounted to our house and we’re having to call someone out each month to get up on a ladder and change the batteries out. It's very frustrating speaking to customer service and they’re only solution is to get out and get the cameras to re-scan the QR codes.
Horrible never works
It constantly tells me that the camera is not available. I would RECOMMEND going with a different brand. I see why so many people sell them on FB. Please don’t waste your money on theses cameras. I have the newest cameras as well. Just got a few months back. Wish I took all four back before it was toooo late
Crashing always
Can’t sign & support isn’t helpful at all. Multiple request and lots a time & they keep asking the same questions.
Not worth it
I am going to be swapping out all of my cameras for something that actually works. All day long they will pick up squirrels and wasps but somehow miss people. I will try to do a live view from a camera and it never loads even though my internet and WiFi are great. Very sad I paid for a 3 year subscription and am quitting before one year is up and this company doesn’t stand by their service so I can’t get any of that money back

Can’t access doorbell sound
I’m disappointed with the update change it was easy to ring my doorbell from my phone and now i can’t unless I’m mounting a new one which is dumb af there should be a easier button to access this to test the sound . If I wanna ring my own doorbell I SHOULD BE ABLE TO PUSH THE BUTTON . But no I have to physically get up from my car to ring my own door bell . Fix this .
New cameras junk my old blink system ten Times more reliable
Ever since Blink stopped supporting and selling the old cameras and pretty much forced us all into this new new ones that are only good until 2030. I switched 15 cameras at my house and I’ve had nothing but problems for the last 120 days with these things, never turn it on and turn it off and when you do turn them off, they still go off and still catch movement. They won’t refresh. It’s been nothing but a complete hassle and I have a brand new Wi-Fi system and modem thinking about switching into a different brand of camera and put wasting my money on Blink. It’s all part of the Amazon racket.
