Fix the notification bug
I have had Blink cameras for years.
They have worked great for my needs and I have always given good recommendations when people are looking. I have also purchased more every Prime day, until this year.
Recently I have been hit with the notification bug that so many people have experienced as well.
What good is a camera system that doesn’t notify at the time of the event, but waits 2-12 hours and delivers 30+ notifications all at once?
I recently received so many notifications in a row during a meeting that I had to remove my watch so I could focus.
This isn’t a new bug that has popped up overnight, people have documented this for months and even last year. Blink also isn’t a small independent company, it’s owned by Amazon..

Buggy software
Not sure why I keep paying for the service. It’s almost a year now, and my Apple Watch still gets stale alert floods. The shortcuts also constantly fail randomly.

Abuses push notifications to send spam
This app abuses push notifications to send spam, and provides no way to disable them. As a security app, this proves that Blink cannot be trusted with your data. Notifications about security issues are critical and should not be mixed with spam.
Not worth it ..
They take your money then give you a service that barely works. What’s the point in paying a monthly fee if it’s never working?? They never offer help! They force the bot that can’t help at all. I will no longer be a customer and I’m reporting to the BBB .. I want my money back

Intrusive notifications
The inability to turn off marketing notifications is a slap in the face to the users. We bought your product, and pay monthly for the service. Can you not take that and be happy? What will be enough? Greedy corpos are ruining everything good about technology
Notifications are absolutely BROKEN on Apple Watch
For a little over a month, notifications have been broken on this app, dumping literal dozens of notifications onto my Apple Watch all at once, some of which are from days before. I love the service, but this causes my watch to be unusable for long periods of time as notification after notification comes in. Please fix this!!!

Blink notifications on my iPhone arrive instantly, but notifications on my Apple Watch Series 11 are frequently delayed by minutes, hours, or even until the next day.
What’s strange is that the notifications aren’t lost. If I disable and re-enable Blink notifications for the Watch, all of the delayed notifications suddenly appear at once. This suggests they’re getting stuck somewhere in the notification process.
I’m using an iPhone 17 Pro and Apple Watch Series 11, both fully updated. This has been an ongoing issue and is very frustrating for a security app where timely alerts are important.
Please investigate and provide an update on when a fix will be available.

I’ve been using blink for years! They suddenly updated the app and now even with the local storage it defaults to cloud storage which is the subscription!!! What’s the point of the local storage if it’s forcing your to pay for the subscription to view anything!! This is ridiculous please fix this!!!!!

Blink used to be good. Not anymore. We have had the block system for several years. They have made several changes and none of them have been great. You used to be able to have access to local storage from your phone. But since they couldn’t monetize that they took it away. They also forced their AI mode on us to get us to upgrade. On top of that I’ve had an error when trying to view my clips for the last week. So right now it is practically useless.

Subscription
This company now requires you to pay a subscription just to see still motion clips of the motion the camera catches. It is useless when it comes to actually providing a feeling of security. Unless you happen to be watching at the moment of a burglary, or you have opted in for the subscription, the app won’t show you what the camera caught.

You can’t reset your password at the website and you get a message saying you have to reset it through the app oh but wait that doesn’t work either because you keep getting a failed to create password message leaving you without service.
Terrible Everything
The outdoor camera eats up the expensive batteries within 2 weeks. It does not pick up activity. It's useless. Can't even use it!!
I contacted customer service and they're just as useless! Won't even contact me back.
They asked for access to it, I immediately granted the access and use been weeks, and they won't respond to anything!

It’s not my phone. It’s the app. It’s too slow to open. You miss so much. You really gotta get better at this.
Later repeated notifications
Had this system for 4 years, but recently started constantly receiving late notification on Apple Watch from hours or days earlier, one after another after another, hundreds of them. Absolutely enraging. Ready to drop Blink system forever.

The live view for one of my important cameras consistently loses connection and sometimes doesn’t load at all when I go to the live view, it stays on the loading screen, really frustrating that I pay for this when other camera systems give live view for free
No way to see which WiFi network the device is on
The brilliant designers of this app decided not to give users a way to view which WiFi network the device is on. That means that if you value security and keep all your IoT devices on a separate network, you won’t be able to know for sure that your Blink is on that network unless you go through the hassle of using a third-party tool. It also means that if you ever have network problems, the app won’t give you any insight into why. This is an incredible oversight for a security camera app - I ask the developers; if you value minimalism over functionality so much, why not just get rid of ALL the features, and have NO app at all? That would be really minimalist!
Live view randomly stop working
Every couple of weeks that app crashes and my live u randomly stop working and after 2 weeks it starts working again it’s Annoying imma cancel and throw my camera away and get ring camera at this point I turned my WiFi on and off constantly every 30 mins and nun changes I need my live view to see everything if this continues after today I will cancel my subscription and call my legal team you guys have 24 hrs I been a customer with u guys for 3 years plus and never had this problem ever !!!!!

Can’t move cameras to different systems
I don’t know why this app still doesn’t have a feature to move cameras from one system to another. Right now we have to delete the cameras from the app, and go through the process of re-adding them through a different system, which is annoying.

Over the last 2-3 weeks the app is almost completely unusable. I’ve been having so many problems with it. I’ll get a notification and go to the app and no video is there! Thinking about getting rid of my 3 bling systems and switching to something more reliable.

This stupid app posted and now my clips aren't saving anymore. It tells me there's motion at my door, then nothing. Very frustrating as these bs cameras aren't cheap
Please Fix It
I loved the Blink app until recently. Whenever I receive a notification and I press it to see what movement was detected to watch the clip, etc.. I’m unable to get into the app. All I see. Is the Blink home screen the wheel spins to no avail. I never actually get entry I’ve deleted and re-downloaded this app several times and I’m still facing the same issue. This app was great until recently. I’m so disappointed.

The app is great, but for the love of god fix your notifications on Apple Watches, there will be notifications when you have movement and then hours later receive every single notification for the day again back to back. It is overwhelming, I have tried contacting support and I need photos and videos along with other personal info, they are super unhelpful
Low features, sunlight triggers movement
Had these cameras for 4 years. App hasn't improved. Still no mass delete of clips. Can't have multiple logins with different cameras per user. Worst is that sunlight through the leaves triggers motion on my driveway, so on those days I have to snooze the camera so I don't keep getting constant alerts. And snooze is a paid subscription feature.
This new update is horrible.

1 Star for AI
Sorry but AI in the Blink system clearly seems to be a step toward a deal with Palantir, and an even greater incursion on peoples privacy. Hopefully other customers do their research and feel the same way!

This app could have many more features that would not require hardware upgrades. Just software. They refuse to do these updates to get you to pay for Ring.
Also, it doesn’t recognize motion when you need it to.. I’ve missed many recordings that could have saved my shop from theft all because the camera didn’t trigger even though it’s on its highest motion sensitivity and zero motion zones blocked…
If you get blink, pay extra for the module xr to avoid a monthly subscription.
But don’t buy blink. I regret it every day. I honestly wouldn’t get ring either.
I’m currently looking into other options that work and are as advertised.

STILL CLOUD CLIPS
When tapping on a notification, the app opens to cloud clips - have to manually switch to local clips. The latest update made things worse. Selecting local reverts to cloud. Have to select local twice.
Apple Watch owners BEWARE
These cameras were useful for my families cabin 5 hours away. Now, I had to delete the app due to an Apple Watch notification issue. The issue is that the notifications will stop on the Apple Watch and then all of a sudden at a random time of day a new notification will mirror the iPhone notification. Then for about an hour or more, depending on how many cameras and notifications you get, your watch will go off and 1 by 1 play all the notifications from like an entire days time. I’ve tried the temp fixes…delete blink app and download again….stop mirroring notifications from blink app….NOTHING works except leaving the blink app off my phone, or turning off my Apple Watch….this will literally drive you MAD with the amount of notifications. Now I’m stuck paying a monthly fee for something I can’t use. BEWARE!!! Blink should be ashamed.

For the last week or two, there’s an issue where I will receive a notification and click on it, and then the video won’t actually play for a while. I could understand it if I had that early notification setting turned on, but I don’t. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and it doesn’t fix this. I don’t want to receive a notification until the clip is actually ready to play. I have zero desire to have to sit there waiting for it to play after I click on it.
Just to add: Another problem with the above is that the thumbnail isn’t actually capturing the person or vehicle whose motion triggered the recording. So whereas before, you could look at the thumbnail and know what set it off, you now have to actually play the video. This is in no way an improvement. PLEASE fix this.

Removed screen mirror feature
I’m just writing this to express my extreme displeasure at the removal of the ability to mirror the app to anything else. This was always a feature I used REGULARLY and now it’s been removed?! Subscribing member. Future uncertain.
Late alerts
I get nonstop late alerts from hours ago or yesterday, constantly. I’ve changed batteries. I’ve moved the sync. Nothing changes. Trash. Get a real camera system this one is junk.
