Permanent Ban Over a Bra Under a Sheer Shirt? No Warning, No Transparency.
Honestly disappointed with this app. I was permanently banned over a first-time photo violation for wearing a sheer top with a bra underneath - no nudity involved - and received no warning beforehand. Instead of asking me to remove the photo or temporarily suspending the account, they permanently banned my profile and phone number immediately.
The appeal process feels completely automated and gives no real explanation or transparency. Meanwhile, there are clearly non-Black people and fake profiles on the app despite it being marketed toward Black singles, yet a non-nude photo gets someone fully removed from the platform. On top of that, the app constantly pushes paid features and subscriptions, so it honestly feels more focused on getting people’s money than creating genuine connections.
As a Black woman in Portland, I joined hoping to find genuine connections within the community, but overall the experience was disappointing. This situation honestly reminded me that meeting people organically is probably healthier than relying on dating apps like this.

If you’re a loser, don’t worry, this app won’t make you a winner either. Don’t ever pay and don’t let them convince you to buy a membership when someone is supposedly close. Dating apps suck and this one is no different. They will also steal your money. The option to cancel won’t be available after you sub ends. You’re left with 2 choices. Delete your account or be forced to pay THEN the option for it to cancel appears. BLK is a predator app. Avoid at all cost

Do not Join nor download this APP it’s a waste of time! I’m getting ready to release a detailed video of the challenges I’ve had with this app simply because I am not ‘Black’. I’m in no way racist ; my preference has always been men of color but the team managing this app decided that they will not support racial equality and diversity! I have several clips from the AI Grok 4 supporting my claim. There’s been numerous complaints to the better business bureau as well and the conclusion is that the management will do as they please since it’s theirs. I’ve emailed tech support continuously for 3mths now as to why I don’t get messages and it seems as though no one can see my profile. I made sure I verified my profile so that it’s 100% valid so there wouldn’t be any challenges . Grok says it’s a simple fix but the management team gets to choose whether or not they want to. Many ppl that are not BLK share similar problems. The app has great potential but not with a management team that wants to restrict you from being a part of it simply because well I’m not ‘black’ .. it’s sad that in 2026 ppl still think this way*

This is the worst app hands down

This app used to be really good for black singles. It was a great alternative from tinder since tinder doesnt push for black singles as much but it has become watered down in quality there is too many BOTS "down to meetup" you cant post a picture in abs it will get taken down you cant post your insta it will get taken down its distance selecting is terrible it can be someone 10 miles away it shows the people 300 miles away it was once a good app but its failed consistency.
Bots & Low Quality
The quality of prospects on this app makes other dating apps seem like a bachelor show/party. It’s literally like night & day difference. Front loading better quality prospects will make people want to invest more time & resources into this app. Bots & Scammers are so obvious & 2 out of every 4 swipes at least feel like bots. This is unacceptable, stop feeding users fake engagement & expecting all of us to not see past the curtains.

I have tried contacting customer care and no one will resolve this issue. When I paid for a subscription it sent me to a website instead of the app store and now it will not let me cancel the subscription. The people on here are bs and the filters on the app don’t work. Do not download or use this app!!!

I literally just created my BLK account with facial Verification and phone number. I was just on my account . I was swiping until my likes exhausted. I then logged out and came back to log in the next day. I'm confused as to why my login info isn't working ?? Everytime i attempt to log in by number it states that sms info is unavailable and there's no way to log in using email either what gives ?? I’ve emailed customer support twice because the first response was the not the answer i was looking for and was to told to sign a ban appeal. I did exactly that and was told I’d be retched out too and still no direct answer. I’ve been a user of BLK for almost a decade. Ive never experienced such nuisance before. You all are banning accounts for no reason yet let fake bot and scamful profiles run rapid on the app even though real people are verifying their faces via eye and facial scanning. Never once have i violated any policies either so this is utter nonsense.

Distance Portion Isn’t working
The first couple of days having the app, it showed only local options, per my request. Now they are all 100-400m away with an occasional nearby match. There seems to be no order to it. Idk what’s up. But it’s a waste because I spend all day swiping left

I made an account and paid for a platinum membership. I then was immediately banned for violating a policy. All I did was set up my account add photos (regular appropriate photos of me, me and my dog, etc). I asked about the ban and all they said was the decision was final. I asked about the refund and they said talk to Apple. Horrible app, horrible customer service

So my account cannot be made because once it gets to the social or social + dating question I can’t scroll down to press ok. this app throws everybody at you, u have to reset the filter everytime u reopen the app which is annoying‼️ This app needs to deactivate fake pages or pages with no real pics (just AI or cartoons).the notifications are delayed, these men require so much from women but they constantly hat fish because they won’t own their baldness, never put their height because their dwarfs, lips chapped & cracked as if anyone wants to kiss that‼️
Worst Dating App I’ve used
I’ve used several different dating apps, including several others by Match Group. BLK is the worst by far. I was only able to use the app for a few days before my account was randomly banned without warning or explanation. During those few days most of my matches and likes were very clearly bots. Besides the horrible customer support that completely failed to explain or help with my ban, the actual user interface of the app is sluggish and ugly, even compared to other match group apps. That’s all the feedback I can really give as I had a limited time to use the app but in my opinion you’re better off just using tinder. I never write reviews on apps but my experience with this one was aggravating enough to motivate me this one particular time. Maybe if they ever answer my ban appeal I’ll be willing to be less harsh.

Whatever you do don’t sign up with a number only sign up with email because once you lose the number and got an active subscription they’ll still take money out of your account Ms Curtis didn’t set up the app to where you can reset or change the number without a code from original number or to even cancel a subscription so therefore it’s set up to come up off of your hard earned money -0/10 meaning NO STARS ! is my rating.

This app doesn’t care about distance! You can put 20 miles away and it’ll show people 300 miles away. Rarely it shows actual people that like you locally giving the option to match with them. Trash!

I recently subscribed, paid my weekly charge. Once they took the money out of my account for the 2nd time. They logged me out and when I tried to sign back in. They prompted me to create another profile. They locked me out of account so I can’t cancel subscription. Apple needs to do something about these scam apps. When you subscribe to their upgraded services, they will lock you out of account so that you cannot cancel subscription. I highly recommend to do not use this app. I have to cancel my card and order a new one because my bank is familiar with this situation and have had users scammed by AFFINITY APPS LLC in the past! Do not fall for this. Avoid this app at all cost!!!!!
Can’t even get past the profile photo page
I’ve tried multiple pictures of ONLY ME with clear background and no group photos and yet it still hit me with “photo does not meet requirements”. I’m honestly disappointed and will be deleting it right away.
