Another update, still low quality images
Not one time since using the app has it loaded HD inages, everything being a blurry mess with any amount of zoom - It's been several years of updates waiting for BASIC functionality, but I guess images not being blurry is too much to ask - now with the age verification thing (which is a massive problem in of itself) I can't even BEGIN the process, because "something went wrong", terrible quality software from day one

These people still have yet to fix the problem of inopportune feed refreshes causing you to permanently lose a given post. This has been a problem for years, even on Twitter before Elon took over. How is it 2026 and this still exists on the modern replacement?? Give us SOMETHING to resurface a post that went away after a feed refresh.

I’m not giving you my SSN or ID
There is no way in hell am I giving out my personal information like my ssn or ID to prove I am over 16, I’m not risking my personal data getting out there by a hack or data breach. Ether let me in to actually let me use the freaking app by just my date of birth or face scan or NO DEAL. To users of this app who live in Mississippi we are getting the unfair treatment! They keep screwing up
Once again, the mods and devs have proven they don't know how to moderate a platform with the latest rollout. The preexisting tags for filtering adult content was effective. Accounts that had those posts set to hide could do so without worry. This new moderation change makes those obsolete and not in a good way. To put it simply, it's censorship. Entire accounts have effectively been wiped off the platform because of the *slightest* "adult" adjacent thing. The tags can't even fully do their job because the new moderation system hides the entire account. Every post, text, image, reply, everything. Once hidden, it's blurred. You have no idea if it's something that's actually sexually explicit, or a text post that contains profanity. Users then have to tap twice to reveal what the post was, again there's no way of knowing what it is until it's been revealed. We're now playing Russian Roulette with NSFW content because the mod team decided to bite their own tail. Appealing to a minority while screwing over everyone else seldom works out in the end. They will become Tumblr 2.0 if they keep implementing changes like this. Way to rear end the bases that helped put you on the map Bluesky.

Why change the format of the photo library without permission or another option. I had my photos and short videos arranged to use for as “I” need to access them. I go to find my own content and it looks scrambled and confusing.
Broken app, horrid dev team
Bluesky is a terrible app run by an even worse dev team. More often than not, the app doesn’t work correctly. Sometimes it won’t load at all. Sometimes it won’t update new posts for hours. Sometimes none of the buttons work. The moderation team act like petty tyrants who regularly antagonize their users. They will ban accounts for seemingly no reason one day, then change the ToS to allow other accounts they enjoy to flagrantly break rules and create a hostile environment the next. They are exceedingly racist against Palestinians and will ban their accounts within seconds of being created. The devs openly brag about using AI to “vibe-code” 90% of their work, then act surprised when they DDoS their own servers, crashing the entire website for days on end. Do not download this app!

Bluesky is extremely dangerous
I’ve never used an app that made me hate my life.
Failed Promises
Bluesky appeared awhile back claiming to be a decentralized social media platform where people wouldn’t have to deal with the confines of an algorithm, with people being able to see and post what they want.
And while this idea was true, we see time and again the platform’s own moderates go against their mission statement, banning LGBTQ+ people over specking against injustices, and now recently with their ban against NSFW content, despite most users arguing against it.
This moderation team are both spineless and detrimental to the goal of their OWN APP. Things may be fine now, but these mods could easily bring the whole app down with more bad and oppressive decisions.

The Last Straw: No 2FA email login no support

Always annoying to use
Great community. Lazy devs aspirate make things annoying. Can’t handle me listening to podcasts or music while browsing bluesky, and forget full screening a pic or video there’s no predictable behavior when you try to return to the feed. App my just close down, or video will start with no audio, or you’ll be scrolled up to the top of the feed…. Sometimes. So annoying.

Actually unusable
This app signs me out every time i close the app for no apparent reason, making me click on my account to sign back in. This app has always done this (although not EVERY time) but usually it’s fine because i’m able to sign back in after one click. Now it does this, but loading the app itself takes several minutes of just the starry sky background. Once i click on my profile now, all it does is highlight my selection to show that i clicked it. I’ve waited 10-15 minutes with the app open, it doesn’t do anything beyond that now. If i’m lucky it’ll eventually let me type in my password just to be met with a “could not reach your provider” error, then i wait a few hours to try again, all while the web version works normally. I genuinely cannot use this app even when trying.

A love-hate relationship
Bluesky could be so good, and I love the community I’ve found there, but the devs are actively making the app worse with their vibecoding and moderation decisions. Maybe if the team would hire people who can write actual code instead of spending their days mocking/blocking their userbase and rolling out features that no one wants (and that break the functionality of the app) then it’ll deserve a better rating than this one. Love, a hater of the image carousel.

It's surprising that "Blooskee" has been around this long and still hasn't implemented basic functionality. For one thing, if you submit a post and it gets flagged with the wrong label (and you appeal it), there is zero indication whether your appeal is being ignored, denied, or still in processing-even weeks later.
Image quality is so terrible, the service is hardly worth using anyway.

Stop deleting notifications
Stop deleting notifications! If you are going to ding my phone then it needs to stay there! You are the only app on my phone that thinks it's OK to do this, and there is no setting to disable it.

Even with a lot of pushback from the community, they just tell us we don’t know what we want and continue to find ways to add useless slop to their platform. Bluesky is just like every other social platform, CEOs that are out of touch and only care about their tech bro bubble. So tired of AI being forced in every aspect of life.

I can’t get on Bluesky. I go to log in 24 hours after I last tried. Put in my password and it still says reached maximum tries. How long before I can go back on? Two days I have been unable to log on to my accounts.

This app continues to be frustratingly inaccessible with VoiceOver. The focus on alt text is appreciated, but navigating the feed timelines are for all practical purposes a no go. Each element (user name/handle, skeet text, attachhed media, like, repost, etc.) are displayed on its own line with VO making it necessary to continuously swipe through everything to get to the next post instead of having everything read by VO with use of the rotor for various actions as one line as is rather common with other social media apps. Also, with VO, you’re always placed at the top of the timeline making it impossible to maintain your position in the timeline whenever you open the app. Scrolling back doesn’t work. If you tap on load new skeets, you’re again, placed at the top with no real way to smoothly scroll through the various skeets. This is disappointing as in other parts of the app, the VO rotor function is implemented, but for some reason, it’s just not available in the feed timelines. I want to give the app a higher rating, but the way it is now, it’s really not accessible for a Bluesky VoiceOver user.
