Limited Functionality in App; Unreliable Products
My Bose QC Ultra Headphones malfunctioned within a year and six months, and the warranty expires in a year. The app is of no use, and it mostly sends you to their mobile site which you can access within a browser. I am unable to leave a review of this experience directly on their website. I will never buy a Bose product again, and you shouldn't either.
Horrible app

Can’t connect, won’t stay connected
My 700 sound bar never seems to connect despite all troubleshooting steps. This app is absolutely worthless

Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar Won’t Work
I don’t leave reviews, I can’t be bothered but this is a special case. $1177 after taxes and I’m in a chokehold because of this TERRIBLE app. My phone only connects to my bar sometimes, set up took nearly 45 minutes because of dropped connections or errors. Custom tune crashes the app and I can’t dial in my settings. Everything runs so slow and I’m so annoyed that it doesn’t just work. That’s all we want Bose. For our high end products that we paid good money for, to just work. Please pay your team better, or find the talent that will car enough to work on these bugs. This is unacceptable
Disappointed with the Removal of Voice Battery Announcements on the SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen)
Dear Bose Team,
My name is David Silva, and I am a Bose SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen) owner and a long-time fan of Bose products.
I am writing because I am disappointed with the recent changes made to the SoundLink Flex user experience. One of the features I loved most about my speaker was the voice feedback system. It would announce the battery percentage, connection status, and other useful information without requiring me to look at my phone.
As a customer, this was one of my favorite features. The previous system was extremely convenient. I could simply turn on the speaker or hold the power button and immediately know my battery level. This allowed me to decide whether I needed to charge the speaker before leaving home, going to work, or spending time outdoors.
Since the recent changes, the voice announcements appear to have been replaced by simple electronic tones. While the tones are not unpleasant, they provide far less useful information. As a result, the speaker now feels less functional than before.
I also preferred the previous button layout and overall user experience. In my opinion, the earlier design was more intuitive and practical.
I purchased Bose because of the attention to detail and thoughtful user experience. In fact, I was considering purchasing additional Bose speakers in the future because I have always enjoyed Bose products. However, removing features that customers actively use and enjoy makes me hesitant to continue investing in the ecosystem.
One of the most frustrating aspects is that I can no longer quickly know my battery percentage without checking my phone. Previously, I could get this information directly from the speaker itself, which was faster, easier, and more convenient.
I would strongly encourage Bose to consider restoring the previous voice announcement system, especially battery percentage announcements, or at least provide users with the option to choose between voice prompts and the simplified tone-based experience.
Giving users a choice would satisfy both customers who prefer the new system and loyal customers like myself who preferred the original functionality.
Thank you for your time and for listening to customer feedback. I hope Bose will consider bringing back these features in a future firmware update.
Sincerely,
David Silva

Never buying anything Bose again
Enough said
Horrible multi point connection
If I connect to iPhone 14 and pixel 5a I can’t play YouTube on iPhone! Till I disconnect pixel! My other $20 earbuds do it much much better l will not recommend and will return them!
App can’t connect to my new headphones
Brand new quiet comfort headphones. The app won’t connect to them. Seems a useless app.
Broke sound link max
App forced an update on my sound link max that killed its voice prompts. Now I can’t cycle through BT connections, get battery life info or basically use this thing UNLESS the app is running! BRING BACK THE VOICE PROMPTS BOSE SHEESH! App claimed the firmware update would make use easier it actually made it WORSE! It takes forever to get it connected and running now and the new “tones” convey 0 information. Beware-This app may functionally brick your very expensive Bose products-all while collecting data on you!
Does not connect
App shows the headphones and then “Oops! Something went wrong” and cannot pair.
Buggy as hell
This latest update is buggy as hell. I’ve NEVER had interference with my subwoofer, until this update came out. Do NOT upload this update, if you want your sound to be consistent
Troubleshooting
The troubleshooting capabilities of the app for CEC devices are horrifically basic. Product support takes you to the website.
Sound bar does not play audio when connected by hdmi, Bluetooth, or optical. I learned the device automatically updates over WiFi, firm ware from April probably causes the issues. But there are no logs for firmware updates for the device on the app, so no way to diagnose the issue.

Pricks
You know what you did
Horrible app
Horrible app that will never function properly.
Forced account creation is bogus
I’m staying at a house with a Bose system and needed the app to change some settings because the remote is minimal. After downloading the app to change the settings, it won’t let me do anything without creating a login. I don’t own any Bose stuff and now don’t ever plan on it in the future.
Pesima
Won’t connect to any Bose products
This new app won’t connect to any of my existing Bose products, even after factory resets, uninstall/install etc. For the amount of money these products cost, I expect a higher level of quality. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with wireless sync/connections. It won’t even recognize the device when it’s hard lined to the same network!!
La peor app de la historia
Ni se puede usar alexa tendrán que desarrollar una app de nivel siempre enciende a 80% de nivel de volumen
Lack of support for recently legacies speakers.
My biggest complaint is that I bought my first Bose Flex speaker two years ago. I bought a second recently, only to find out that the older speaker will ONLY connect to the “Bose Connect” app and the newer speaker will only connect to the “Bose” app. Creating a new app that doesn’t support earlier iterations of the same branded product is pretty crummy when buying multiple speakers is done so that they can pair to enhance a consumer’s listening experience.
Firmware disaster Bose refuses to fix, terrible app
3 months since Bose pushed an update that stole multiple features like Bluetooth switching. 0 improvements. Can’t even use the shortcut for Apple music, it’s hard coded to spotify.
Half the time the app can’t find my headphones. The other half of the time it creates a second bluetooth connection for the same device. Completely unusable.
I never know what the battery level is at so it dies mid call.
This app and the forced firmware update are horrendous and I heavily recommend against all Bose products, you never know when they’re going to destroy them for “progress”.

Absolute trash app from a leader in technology??!?
Garbage app, frequent disconnects, won’t connect for several attempts. It’s annoying how glitchy it is. If not for the superior headphones I wouldn’t want to deal with the absolute trash app they put out. I guess they know we don’t have a choice so they can put out inferior apps knowing we can’t do anything about it.
STOP MAKING THAT SOUND!
Stop the awful sounds the speaker makes when i turn it on and off. OR I WILL THROW IT AWAY!
No Add Service Button
Since the latest update my app no longer has the add service button yet it has iHeart radio on it but lost everything else. Tried all the suggestions on Bose website and google but still nothing. This sucks!
Great idea for an app
Love the customization and modes on the headphones. Only drawback is 30 minutes to pair to phone, only for it to work through brute force. Headphones will randomly decide to disconnect during your workout and make you go through the absolute atrocious process of pairing again. Slightly over engineered but fun i suppose.
Out of sync.
For the first few months the earbuds were working amazing until the earbuds themselves started playing out of sync from one another at random times, even one of them occasionally going static for a few seconds. Done hard resets in hopes the issue would be resolved only to be disappointed that it did not and the earbuds themselves were defective. Not what you expect from a $300 dollar product that is meant to be quality.
Rarely works correctly
This app is so glitchy. After a recent update I lost the ability to change to and from dialogue mode on my smart ultra soundbar. Now, if it even works when I select that option, it brings me to a screen to choose delays for audio. I also can no longer adjust the subwoofer volume. Selecting settings just gives me a spinning circle too. C’mon Bose, I thought you were better than this. I intentionally purchased this Bose set up because of the issues Sonos had with its app.
Why Bose?
Updating in a middle of you watching a move or anything! Have a warning or a way to update without interfering in a middle of your watch. Soundbar 900 is amazing but those cuttings are awful. Shame on you Bose
