Brilliant isn’t impactful
This app is boring for my kid. It’s too easy and very repetitive. He feels like he’s learning nothing at all. He has no drive or passion for this app at all. Plus, this app doesn’t make you want to learn or become better. In my opinion, 1/5 stars. (By the way, the constant premium plus every 10 damn seconds is so repetitive and annoying).

That app is good and does what advertised but its very expensive and i could not find an option to stop paying for the membership and forced to pay despite have already deleted the app
Over Gamefied that is better for review than it is for learning
I purchased this premium version based on a great “review” and the fact that Brilliant received Editor’s Choice designation.
I worked it every day and moved through the various levels (usually finishing first in my cohort) and finished #1 in the highest tier.
I tried multiple courses from basic (intro to Python) to very advanced (Abstract Algebra). My conclusion is that this is a waste of time (and money).
It feels like 20 Questions for math. The questions often have only 2-3 responses and there is very little critical information to really learn any topic. Lessons often start by asking questions on topics they have not explained and questions are often repeated in subsequent sessions.
I asked for a refund but at 2 months I was past the window. I can’t imagine anyone learning about complex topics through this app that asks redundant and simplistic questions.

Poor customer service
Extremely bad. Won’t refund your yearly purchase when its automatically enrolled even if I asked for an immediate refund. Just be mindful of it.

It’s ok
It explains to you but the app is desperate for money so it keeps saying go premium instead of helping at explaining the topic because there is al. Limit to explain what you got wrong in the lesson so it actually sucks
Opportunity
Very limited without premium. It would be nice if it were more accessible to people who couldn’t pay for the extra.
May 2026 update very bad
I’m on a 250 day streak having a great time but this new update with a cheesy chat bot is the pits. I think my streak may end at 365.
Don’t like the AI review
The original explanations were fine. Then they switched to the AI explanation. The interface is terrible and it’s hard to scroll. It also doesn’t have visuals in the explanations. I haven’t figured out how to turn the AI assist off and go back to the regular explanations. Updates should improve the user experience. This feature does not.
