Doesn’t sync between devices
Very annoying. It also erases completely your tabulations for no reason. It used to be a great app but not so great now.

Amazing but no dark mode
I bought it years ago and uninstalled it because of dark mode, and today(Feb 2024) after years it still doesn’t support dark mode even though it supports Themes and has a “night” mode! Which darkens half of the UI.
Please fix this formerly great app!?
I use Calc tape constantly on my computer, and have previously enjoyed using it on my iPhone as well. I am on iOS update 13.3.1, and now if I move to another app and then come back to Calc tape, it has crashed. It just sits there with the spinning circle, and says, “Loading”, indefinitely. So it’s pretty useless. I’ll keep checking, and will change my review after the app is repaired. Thank you!
Calc tape
This app worked great for keeping a running tally my checking account...UNTIL IT SIMPLY QUIT. For no apparent reason, the app quit working and dumped 2 months worth of records. This app is LESS THAN WORTHLESS and any current users should discontinue use and try to screenshot the work they’ve already done before it happens to them too. I CAN THINK OF NO GOOD REASON TO DOWNLOAD ANYTHING ELSE FROM THOS DEVELOPER.
No longer works in the latest iOS update.
Please update this app. The latest version has the cursor locked in the top left corner, leaving you unable to edit the tape. This bug effectively renders the app unusable. Please fix this, I don’t want to go back to using Digits.
Now useless after iOS 13 update
I really loved this app but all my saved files in calctape are now “bricked”. The cursor won’t go anywhere in the file except to the top or bottom. Can no longer click into the file to update. Tried creating new files, no better luck. Tried deleting and reloading app, no resolution. Disappointing to have put all this work into files that are now non-functional.
Dissatisfied
This app used to be the best Calcu , but now based my experience can't stay open when I go back after opening it.. It crashes non stop and huge inconvenience
Not responding
I have use this app for years and loved it. I don’t know why but all seven stopped working. I’ve deleted it and added it again and nothing seems to make it work. I hope they fix this but because I really loved this calculator.
Doesn’t work for iPhone X ios11
CalcTape does not work for ios11. Just give you a loading screen. No access to press anything.
Trouble
I have an iPhone. I have lots of trouble getting this app to work. The screen always goes blank. I contacted the provider and got no help. Don’t waste your money if you have an iPhone.
Last Update Has Destroyed Alphabetic Functionality
The chief benefit of this app was the ability to make alphabetic notations next to the column of figures on the virtual "tape".
The latest update destroyed that. Letters now appear in reverse order--right to left instead of left to right. So now this app is no more functional than many free ones (including Apple's own app iPhone app). Save your money unless the developer fixes this.

It's broken
The calculator doesn't work properly.
What happens to CalcTape???
Till last update it was a great app.
New version has many glitches
Changed decimal places from default of 2 to 0 and get errors. Can't type words anymore.

update killed my list
i had a very important caluclation which was deleted when the app was updated... the whole point of a tape is to have a record of one's calculations... other than the tape function, it operates just like any other calculator...

Slide over does not work at all. Split screen only works as started above and then only if it’s given a bigger chunk of the screen. It looks like the best calculator is not updated anymore. Take away two more stars. Please fix this???
Thought I had a great calculator until I found this one. Just finished filing taxes with TT, and having CalcTape in slideover mode is the perfect companion. Deductions especially require lots of totals. One tap easily places the most recent total onto the clipboard to carry it back to the tax app.
The multiple tapes can be saved to Dropbox with all the other documentation. They can be used as templates for next year as they are easy to edit. Usually use a simple spreadsheet but abandoned it this year.
Love the ability to start with a standard keyboard and customize it to have exactly what is needed. Three easily selectable keypads are better than one.
I have added CalcTape to my iPad essentials list.
EDIT: It's crashing frequently when used in slideover mode on iPad. I had to take away a star for this.
