paid $60 &’ can’t even use picture-in-picture.
I paid $60 for this app, but it lacks basic mobile features. You cannot use background play or picture-in-picture mode. If you try to open another app or look away, the video completely locks up. Charging a premium price without supporting standard multitasking is unacceptable. Do not buy this until they fix basic playback functionality. You guys are fkn greedy. regret spending $60.

The high reviews have to be fake. I saw a show that caught my interest and it played a few minutes of the “episode” and said to come back at 7am the next day, but if you don’t actually open the app, it won’t count. I finally “earned another episode” and it was the previous episode back tracked, plus a few more minutes. Kind of ridiculous to wait that long to not actually even see an actual episode.

Too much waiting
Why am I barely able to watch anything unless I pay or wait at least a day? This sucks because the shows are very good, but 50 coins per episode if you don’t want to wait a day (and each series is 40+ videos)… so greedy.
HORRIBLE
i thought this app would help me watch more of “fight dirty” but all its done was take up my time by making me wait 24hours just to watch 30 seconds of it. ts isn’t free and NOT worth your time or money
Glitchy
App constantly glitches. It does not consistently put shows in the “continue to watch” section so you have to go and search for where you left off. Sometimes the app won’t even open.

There’s no customer service available for CandyJar. I reached out to them because I downloaded this both of my phone and on my TV and it was working on my TV for a while but has quit and his demanding that I pay 1999 a month for service that I already paid a year for unlimited views there’s no way for me to sign in through the app that’s on my Roku and I followed all of the advice through Google to try and access that my paid for subscription with zero solutions. I reached out to customer service and their response was to tell me that I was past the date to request a refund and that they take all customer concerns seriously but gave me no attempt at support. It is a complete sham. They should have some sort of customer resolution center, which they do not, and they refuse to give me any money back. I will never use the service again. And I will not recommend this to any of my friends. I’m highly disappointed.
Is this a SCAM
I bought the subscription. It didn’t work! I sent a request, they said reload the app and followed their instructions. I sent back that it didn’t work. No response. I then send in a new request, they respond to that and just say we will put it with your first one. I wait days later and send another!!!! Seriously!!! Is this a scam!!!!!!

Great stories but you can't watch ads and you have no way to freely get coins. It's a money grab and the app is lying saying you can use ads
Never got what I paid for.
Support is a joke. Put in multiple tickets. I paid for a yearly sub, it was taken out of my bank account but I don’t have access to premium in the app? And I’ve received no response back on how they could help me fix this.
Ridiculous
$45+ for one short video. That is ridiculous! Each episode was 1 min long and cost 50 coins, 500 coins $17 to watch the whole short was 43 episodes. No thanks
Doesn’t keep my interest
It gives you the first 5 or so episodes for free then only 1 episode free every day. Other apps give you anywhere from 5-30 episodes free each day which keeps my interest. If I have to come back each day for only 1 episode (which is less than a minute long) then my interest is lost and I search other apps. I will not be continuing to follow this app and the new dramas because of the limitations.
Fraud
Do NOT download and purchase this app. I did, never received services. Messaged their customer service multiple times over a two weeks period. Requested a cancellation and they still continue to try to charge me. I keep submitting tickets for them to resolve the issues and get ignored and no response.
Scam
I saw an ad on insta for the story called 'life is not a game' and I wanted to stay up to binge it so I bought the $21 subscription. After I bought it it didn't let me watch the rest of the episodes as they were locked and said I needed a subscription. Then I got an email to confirm my email so I thought that was the problem. After confirming my email it still didn't let me watch the episodes and said I needed to purchase a subscription WHICH I HAD ALREADY DONE. I submitted a request online and even send a dm to their instagram page and I didn't get an answer even after a week. There's no button for me to cancel and so the second renewal came (I will take blame for this one rip) so now I'm down $40 and I still am not able to watch the episodes. This sucks please don't get scammed like me 😭😭

It’s totally free if you want to wait 24hrs between episodes. Otherwise it costs 20 bucks weekly for you to watch the entire episode at once.
No “in-app” purchasing available
It is impossible to trust an app that misleads you to believe they have in-app purchases but when you go to do a subscription or buy coins it immediately opens your browser sending you to a third party website to enter your card information. Why is Apple not cracking down on this behavior?

I cancelled this subscription in July 2025. Was charged a renewal in April 2026 and told that my previous attempt to cancel was not valid. Cannot get ahold of a non-AI customer service agent. Had to file a dispute with my credit card company.
Quality has gone down
Quality of stories has gone down a lot. If they are only going to release one per week, it better be good. I understand and support having a male/male story in addition to others, but not if it’s the only story getting released for the week. It should be in addition to, not instead of if they want to keep thier current subscribers. I guess they don’t care about maintaining.

It’s actually good the acting and story is not bad at all…I’m giving it a 1 star because when I cancelled the subscription I literally had to email them and contact Apple Pay to block the payment because they keep trying to take money out…it’s ridiculous if I didn’t pay attention they wouldve kept taking money out…

Worst app ever
When I first downloaded the app, it lets you watch one episode for free of a season, however, this subscriptions are $20 weekly or $79 annually which is more expensive than any other app like Netflix or Hulu. Then they had this option to buy coins to see a episode like buying an episode however, when you do buy coins, they charge per second of the film so when I bought eight dollars worth of coins, which were 250 coins, it was gone within four minutes of the episode and I didn’t get to watch this app is just money, hungry and is a scam.

Hard to give it any stars if the app doesn’t even open. Not sure if it’s specific to IOS. Disappointed and hope the issue is resolved or paying customers get refunds.

INCONSISTENT with Galatea stories and just not worth it
A) the stories are extremely inconsistent with the original stories on Galatea

I was hooked on The tutors and another episode I watched and downloaded the app right away but! WHY is it $20 a WEEK!? I would easily pay that monthly but $20 a week is absolutely ridiculous. Oh well, I will have to find other videos to watch!

There’s no “watch ads” or games or anything to earn/collect coins to unlock episodes. You get 1 free 30 second episode every 24 hours, and there’s no way to get the 50 coins to unlock the next one unless you “top up” by buying one of their coin packages or a subscription.
I gave 2Stars because the story’s are good and addictive, you can sign in to save progress, and they do a nice jobs with the recommendations for you.
However, if you decide to download… be prepared to pay.

Have to wait 24 hours between each episode and if u want to skip the wait it’s 50+ coins. Some of the episodes aren’t even a full minute. They do give u the option to get carina, but it’s not much and they have an option to call them and get a week free, but that about it. The stories they have on here are good, it’s just disappointing when you have to wait 24 between an episode when the episode are a minute long or less.

Paid for a 2 week subscription and for the past two days the app has barely worked-

Lack of BL
Giving it two stars instead of one because the BL story they have, Next Door, is very good. It’s the only BL story I could find on the app though, it is mainly hetero oriented. If you’re like me and got sucked in by Next Door through fb, don’t purchase a sub because you’re not gonna find anything else besides that here, much better apps out there for gay content. To CandyJar, if you’re trying to draw in a gay audience you gotta do much better than this.

Another app trying to rob you
This app is just trying to get as much money as possible from you. It offers a 2 month “free trial” but wants you to pay for a yearly subscription. It takes a movie and splits it into what it calls “episodes” but are really like 1-2 minute long clips. You can’t download the app to an Amazon tv, and it won’t let you screen mirror the app to your tv. When in the app it offers “coins” to watch its “episodes“ the coins cost 10x more through their app than the browser on the tv. Even using the less costly browser for coins and it ended up costing $20 to finish one of their movies I had started, which tbh wasn’t all that great. If you don’t want an annual subscription, it doesn’t offer a monthly. Instead it offers a WEEKLY subscription that’s 19.99. This whole thing is a rip off, especially for the quality. Save your money.
