Referral rewards are tricky and not consistent
I referred several friends to the $80 referral bonus and I assisted each one of them to register since the process is not simple. They used the referral link, downloaded the app, allowed full permission to the extension and kept the app for the 90 days required. However only 50% of my referral went through, neither I or my friends got the referral bonus. They sent a message to Capital One Shopping asking why they didn’t get the $80 bonus and the answer was a vague list of possible reasons the referral didn’t qualify. The didn’t say exactly what step was missed. I think they should send an email when a step is missed so people can have a chance to qualify for the referral. I am done referring people and getting no bonus. I don’t recommend this referral program. It sucks!

Not recommended
I used to really like Capital One Shopping-it was simple, helpful, and actually saved me money. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been my experience lately.
I’ve activated offers and made purchases through the app exactly as instructed, only to find that the rewards or cashback were never tracked. That defeats the entire purpose of using it. I’ve even had to return items because the expected savings never came through, which is frustrating and a waste of time.
To be clear, I have screenshots of all my activated offers and followed the process properly, so this isn’t user error-it’s a failure on the app’s side.
What’s more concerning is that while the app seems very good at tracking browsing behavior and collecting data, it doesn’t reliably track the deals that matter to users. That imbalance raises some serious concerns.
At this point, I can’t recommend using it. There are other apps out there that are far more reliable and transparent when it comes to honoring offers and tracking rewards.

Horribly-developed app/system
Just a really poorly-developed app that needs to be remade entirely. The app and the chrome extension regularly fail to apply my rewards until I later contact support. This has happened several times, each time conveniently on expensive orders, and I can’t help but feel like I’m being scammed. They also implement a 90 day waiting period where you can’t ask for support until at least 90 days after the transaction - this just feels like a method to get people to forget about it.
Never honored the “promotions”
please stop adding false marketing, everything i participate in your “bonus or rewards” magically are not longer working… why you have an app that offers false rewards ..

The rewards for adding this to your browser never are awarded. Other rewards require you to link your bank account (and provide your password and login to your bank account via a third party web browser window) in order for Capital One shopping to “verify your eligibility” in order to claim rewards you’ve already earned. More like Capital One Big Scam.

Horrible app
Horrible app, so complicated and difficult to use. So many links just to get to a reward and they are obviously tracking all our online searches. I used a link in an email to get a reward from a merchant. Clicked the link, ordered from the merchant, exceeded the $ limit to get the reward and placed an order. No reward in my account and nothing pending. Checked the small print, it can take 30 to 90 days to get the reward!! Too much trouble and I deleted the app. Do better Capital One!
Click bait
I was sent an email that says I have $45 to spend if I download the shopping app and log in. After doing so, it asks me to spam my friends in the address book and I can get $80 in rewards. I did not get the $45 as promised in my email. Just an option to invite my friends which I will not do. This is click bait, bait and switch and dishonest. I don’t recommend this app.
Not respecting reward amount
I ordered items in total of $2100 with 45% reward, with not written limit (later I got another offer with max $1000 rewards), I reached out to support after I got only $250, they advise to wait and not return as it takes time to update. After the return period ended, they told me the limit was $250 and ask for screenshots to show there was not written limit. I sent everything, they ignore it and said the limit is $250 and close the case. My advice, if you don’t get the written reward, return items immediately. They never explained where the limit came from and ignore all my documents proving there was no limit.
Nothing shows up after a month
Customer services closes issues when they have not been resolved. 3 purchases made about 200 dollars on rewards don’t even show up. Find something else.

Why are you making it so hard
I got a reward email to sign up and get a reward. I signed up, I start to put my info and then takes me to Verify my email. Well the link they send is a dead one that takes me to the app and does absolutely NOTHING. And everytime I go to the settings, it makes me login or send a magic link. I also put my phone number in and all of a sudden I don’t see the option to change it or even see there’s a phone number to begin with anymore. I can’t even get past to verify my email and when I open the app now, the home page says I may not be connected to the internet. Goofy app. What is going on??
Scam
They offered me $45 but to get it you have to jump through so many hoops. They want to access all your browser history and monitor every page on safari. I said yes to it and even after that I didn’t get the $45. They sent me a email saying “you’re almost there just 2 more clicks away” at that point I was done. They made me download the app and made me make an account plus giving access. They now wanted me to download it to my desktop computer. It’s a scam don’t download this.
Not user friendly and a scam
This app causes me so much frustration that I might just delete it and miss out on the cash back. Every time I have a good deal, it seems to disappear by the time I put the item in the cart and I can't get the cash back deal to return no matter where | look for it. Also, I should not have to scroll through hundreds of deals on the homepage to find something that suits my needs insteao of simply just being able to search ano have the deals populate there. They only list the standard deal (0.5%-2%) cash back when you search. The cash back is barely worth the time of using the app. Plus, you have to wait months after placing an order and paying to even access the cash back you earned.

Starts from an email promising a reward for sign up, then it prompts you to enable access to your browser like a scam link would to the app then poof no way to redeem reward promised just endless shop and reward offers

Needs improvement
If you click a deal and need to switch apps for any reason it will restart your progress. It takes a full 30 days to get rewarded which seems excessive, other apps are instant. The rewards are so disappointing. I waited 30 days for my reward to finally come in and then eBay was removed as an option for redemption. I don’t shop at any of your partners (nobody does, sorry). Please add Amazon, Home Depot, Lowe’s, and eBay, useful stores etc. Or even just a direct deposit option since you made me sign into my bank account anyway… Thanks!
Doesn’t follow link purchases well
I have made a couple purchases through their links to get credit and it never happens, it shows the shopping trip but not that I made a purchase, of course it’s for the ones I would get a large cash back for. It worked when I had the extension on my browser but not after I took it off. Too many little things that can go wrong. I never have problems with Rakatuen, always get my credit there, not sure why this one is so messed up. I am not bothering anymore, takes up too much space anyway.
Used to be great!
Easy to use despite the long cash out time for a lot of items. The gift card options used to be pretty solid, but in the last 6 months they’ve taken a huge dive. At this point, there is still a few good options but if/when those leave I plan on getting rid of the app.
