Too slow
The app is disappointing so far. Each time I open the app it’s like the lottery. You get nothing most of the time, sometimes you win and the dang app loads. Not impressed.
This app sucks.
I understand why Carnival wants guests to use the HUB app for things like dining check-in, daily schedules, and planning activities, but the way it's set up is frustrating.
To use the HUB app, you have to put your phone in airplane mode and connect to Carnival's free onboard Wi-Fi. While the free Wi-Fi lets you use the app, it blocks your normal cellular connection, and you can't use FaceTime, Facebook, or most other apps unless you pay for Carnival's internet package.
My phone carrier offers international service for $20 a day, so I'd rather use my cellular plan than pay around $40 a day for Carnival's Wi-Fi package. But because the HUB app is required for things like dinner check-in and planning your cruise, you're forced to stay connected to Carnival's Wi-Fi just to use those features.
Guests should be able to access the HUB app without having to give up their own cellular service or feel pressured into buying the ship's internet package. Giving people the choice would make for a much better experience.

iPhone 8.
App was supposed to function with an earlier version. Unfortunately, that was not the case. App froze when opening and never loaded. To bad that I am on the cruise and can’t get it fixed.
