Overall Garbage Platform
The user interface is absolutely appalling. Can’t so much as change your profile picture without having to subscribe to their overpriced monthly or yearly plan.
Needs a lot of work
While I appreciate there is an app, they never fix the issues with it, yet keep updating it with nothing that makes a difference. You can't see deadlines on your auditions after confirming. This is ridiculous! App changes names of files after you upload. Only 300mb total in an audition, so it negates film auditions with many pages. You can't click on Casting attachments they include in breakdown. Shows your submitted profile pic as a white box. Can't do multiple fie upload so you have to remember what you uploaded and since it changes the name upon upload, have to watch and figure out which file this was so don't double upload. It would be nice if you could bookmark auditions, as many ask you to do a read with initial submission and you have to search back for the breakdown or send it to yourself on the website for later. I'm sure there are more things, but that's I can think of off the top of my head.

Cancelled my subscription (through the website), but was will charged the day after. Not happy as it caused me to potentially overdraft. I have proof of receipt of cancellation in the email and disputing it with my bank.

I’ve been subscribed to them for the last five years. And every single year I purchased the yearly plan. And every single year when that expires, they charge me the monthly plan which is $30 a month way more expensive. They do this in hopes to catch you off guard so that you end up paying more money. I hate them for this.

Lacking functionality
Essentially only useful for notifications. Unable to access links, instructions, or even something as straightforward as audition deadline. All information that is instantly available in the web version. To the point where know I might as well skip interfacing with this app because it will not have crucial information.
Unbelievable
Platform itself is fine, but Apple denying my refund request TWICE is unacceptable. I no longer need to use this app, and I canceled my membership the moment I received the charge. Deeply disappointed.

I hate this app
I really don’t understand all the 5 star reviews. There have been so many times I haven’t been able to upload my tape, or it takes hours to, or I get to the finish line and it crashes. I wish they would focus on making that one core functionality… functional 🤨🤨🤨
Constantly Broken
nothing seems to work in this app - sides don’t load, the deadline for submission is always wrong (always reads as the day you get it), and breakdowns never open.
Nonsense
There are problems that have been going on for years on their app like the fact that you can't click on any media uploaded by a Casting Director, I've reported it myself multiple times they just don't care to fix it. Or they don't pay their people enough to have the time to fix it.
I shouldn't have to copy and paste the URL and then go open Safari just to be able to look at an attachment that the Casting Director specifically wants me to look at before deciding whether or not to submit.
They only just recently fixed the times stamp issue I was getting my auditions in Hawaiian time, my profile has never been set to that time zone and when I reported it they basically said oh well who cares and then took two years to fix it.
I could go on and on with the amount of issues I've reported and watched be unsolved for years.
I don't need a pop up every five times I open the app about them wanting my medical data I need them to fix the basic problems with their app.
Or that stupid bar at the top that tells you to go download their app if you go to Safari, I'm on Safari because won't let me view things in app. I don't want to go to the app in that moment that's the whole point.

App hides important info
Won’t show submission deadline. Had to delete app to find out due date. Renames my submission videos after uploads, requires full access to camera AND photos. Which is not necessary. Without the app you can’t download sides.

Critical Info Missing
Don’t bother using this app for auditions. Crucial information is left off or hidden from audition requests in the app, like Wardrobe Notes, Casting Director, rates, usage, etc. Literally nowhere to be found. All this info can only be viewed on the website via browser.
I just used the app to confirm a callback, and was not given wardrobe notes because the app omits that info. Showed up wearing the wrong thing! Lots to criticize about Casting Networks as a business, but this app is functionally useless for working actors.

Confusing User interface and too expensive
The interface is extremely confusing and messy. A lot of hidden options to get to certain areas in your profile and an extremely inconvenient upload interface. It takes forever to upload recent shoots. The subscription is way too expensive too. Most jobs you get to submit to are very low paying and you have hundreds if not thousands going for the same role. Don’t even get me started on the emails. I’ll get emails for my selective preferences (male, 24, Florida) but in these emails I’ll receive roles for women, 30, LA. Everything is just kind of disorganized.

Fix your app
This app has been out for I don’t know how long and it’s SO BUGGY, constantly refreshes the list when scrolling. Loading the next page takes you back to the top, like I’m surprised you guys got this far and haven’t fixed this. FIX THIS!!
Newest Update
The new update is awful. Please bring back to where after you submit for a project, it does not take you all the way back to the beginning of the list. ALSO. It no longer telling you that you’ve already applied for it is very frustrating. They don’t tell you you’ve submitted already until you get to the very end of the submission process.
Too Expensive
They should bring advertisers to the platform to supplement the high prices. There are not enough jobs to justify spending $30 per month. I’m also seeing more listings without pay rates.
Shamefully Expensive
Sure you can charge people $30 for an app that gives you access to proper castings but if you're charging $30 you better actually be worth it! You better provide people with a customer service line where they can actually talk to someone about the issues they're having because of the way you've made the website and app completely unnavigable. This app will promote you make new profiles and then you can't even delete the profiles you've made and it's so confusing. There's profiles, within an account, and multiple accounts all under the same email and you can buy this $30 membership for ONE at a time. To make such a confusing platform and then have no accessible customer support and for that much money is actually diabolical.

Opened the app and it forced you to log in, no sign up option. So I went to my browser and made an account but when I logged in on the app it took me to a gray screen and did nothing

I gave 1 star to get your guys attention. This was my downloading the app and when I first tried to use all it said was login and there was no *create an account* option so I couldn’t use the app pls fix this issue
Doesn’t update w current auditions
Unfortunately this app has been a complete fail for me. I downloaded it in September and now it’s November and I doesn’t update to show current casting notices. It still is showing notices from September in the breakdown feed. I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled twice. Updated it every time there’s an update. Simply doesn’t work. Sad because I pay nearly $300/year for membership and they can’t get me an app that’s useful.
The app is a waste
It shows your inbox. No castings. Everything else is profile based. It’s like they’re not even trying. One star for the inbox. 👎🏼

Its a scam they charge you in order to submit for castings when others don’t for the same casting. It’s impossible to cancel your membership as well. I will have to change my bank account just so they wont charge.

You make an option not to receive casting calls from the Scientology church. Probably 40 percent of the emails I receive are for golden era productions, aka Scientology. Often repeat emails one after the next to the point where it feels like spam. Additionally, some people aren’t comfortable doing publicity for religion, pharma, alcohol, etc. casting networks have some great opportunities for sure but it would be such a huge improvement if I could toggle castings I don’t want to receive based on criteria such as religion, pharma, etc.

I have multiple accounts so when I sign in, the screen mentions that but doesn’t give me an option to choose which one.

Casting billboard is not available so you are not able to search/submit for roles!!

Lazy design, missing features
Why are features available via the desktop version of the site not available on the app? Even the MOBILE WEBSITE version has abilities the app doesn’t have. Insane that this industry forces us to pay to find work, but can’t even make a working app with all that money they gouge from us.

Major shortcomings
Can be convenient to use for self submission but once an audition request is received and confirmed, the due date is no longer visible. This makes no sense. Also, pertinent details of the breakdowns are not included and only visible on the site. I will continue submitting through the website until this is fixed
Impossible to cancel
They made it impossible to cancel on the app by yourself. You have to contact them directly to cancel membership, then they try to give you a “free month” to keep you locked in. Quite annoying actually, I’d like to cancel and re subscribe as I choose. The only way to get jobs is checking in day in and day out. Didn’t get any gigs in more than 3 months.

This app would be great for submitting my materials as an actor if it weren't for the fact that you cannot hear the audio in the audio reel, or the video reel, that is most imperative for casting directors to hear! Please fix this bug so we can work!
Doesn’t address big notifications issue
A few months ago someone at la casting decided to modify the email notification settings so that the subject line on all emails is the name of the saved search. I like to see notifications as all projects are posted. Unfortunately because the email subject line is EXACTLY IDENTICAL for every email they all get grouped together in a single email conversation chain in gmail and others. Because of this notifications are buried in the email chain and opportunities missed. If I select the option on gmail not to group emails then the functionality I needed to track and group emails from other people is lost Is it possible to have the project or role name become the email subject as it used to be by you guys at la casting?

I think this app would be great if we were able to see casting breakdowns and submit for roles on the go. Then I would rate this app 5 stars. Until this feature, I don’t really have use for it. It would be life-changing if I could submit on it!!
