absolutely hate the new update why take all our stuff away?? what’s the point of changing the whole style of gameplay this late into the games creation?? change the game back!!
Useless new update
I don’t even get why whoever was in charge would sign off on this new update it’s genuinely the most useless thing I’ve ever heard. Changing the entirety of gameplay this far into its life I mean who even came up with this? If you think some energy and some diamonds are gonna make up for the fact that people essentially have to get used to a whole new set of rules and mechanics think again. Can’t believe my favorite game was basically ruined all because of an unnecessary update.

I played for a long time and was pretty far. My tree was huge!! I really enjoyed the different events and the adorable cats and items to collect! I haven’t played in quite some time but I saw there was an update and wanted to see what was new and if there was an event! But when I opened the game all my progress was completely gone! It was like I just started a brand new game! My husband has the same problem.
Lost all my progress…
I was at level 28 and after the update was reset completely… I lost all my cats, rooms, and outfits.
Recent Updated Ruined Gameplay
Been playing this game for months and I just lost ALL OF MY BONUSES. I worked hard to get 135 extra energy slots and it’s been taken away. All my saved special used items were also gone. I came close to spending my money on the game but I’m glad to know that would have been nothing more than digital theft.

I have just opened this game after it asked me to update it and I have lost all the progress! Nothing was there! The game started from the beginning like I’ve never played it before.
Completely changed the game and eliminated aspects I paid for
I don’t like signing in and finding all my items - especially the extra storage I bought- just gone.
Recent Major Update Decimated Gameplay
Recent Update is a complete disaster for anyone who spent real money in this game. It’s decimated paid and attained game assets, level progress, completely changed every part of gameplay flow, and unless you somehow documented previous assets and collections before the update - there’s no real way to calculate all the losses in order to request refund of restoration at the very least. It leaves players feeling like they’ve been digitally burglarized and ruins the entire experience.
The updates are awful
I downloaded this game very early on when it was being promoted through the regular cats & soup, and for awhile this was actually my favorite. Over the past year they have consistently had issues with updates (including me losing all of my progress with one recent update), and most recently they have taken away all the progress on the game board that I have built up since the beginning. There aren’t many seasonal events now, which was one of my favorite things. Whoever is working on this game now is ruining it.

Stop making merge games
The App Store is already packed full of annoying merge games. This is nothing like cats & soup. It’s more stressful than relaxing. The merge portion of it ruins the entire game. Love the idea of everything else… but stop making merge games. They are for old people and should’ve been left in 2014.
Game update problems
I am not able to play the game anymore after the new update, which is very upsetting. The game crashes within a minute or two of opening, or when I try to open anything (the list of cats, the mini-games, the event games, the monthly pass). I’m so sad that I can’t play anymore :(
Not worth it
I’ve been playing the game for awhile now, including making in-game purchases. There is a lot to like-but none of it is worth spending real money in the end. NeoWiz just did a major update and I have to say, I wish I’d never downloaded the game. Once you hit a certain point in the game, you’re done, and there really is no point to playing anymore. With the update they tried to incentivize folks to keep playing by implementing cute but lame “sticker books” that disappear once completed. Again, no reason to keep playing the game. If it is just a low-key cozy game you’re after, I recommend going for something like Tsuki’s Odyssey - these CatSoup games are all just money grabs. Glad I know now, but wish I had read a review like this before I invested in the game. Maybe this will help someone else instead.

EVERYTHING that we as a player had unlocked? Gone. The 50 point treats? Replaced with 25 point ones (which are useless past level 5 when trying to increase so many cats) and only three instead of four rounds. The inventory slots. Removed. And the worst part? They’ve made everything a bloody upsell.
They went from a game I respected and wanted to support to just another predatory Gacha and to say I’m disappointed is an understatement.
Then the update happened.

Lost my progress
I do like this game a lot, and I play Cats and Soup as well, but I’m not really happy with this new update. I lost all my suitcase spots that I’d worked for since I downloaded the game when IT FIRST CAME OUT. I also lost all the progress on all of the ingredients I’d already unlocked before this update. I guess that this update could be fun for someone who had never played the game before, but I think that for a lot of users who have been playing it for a while, it’s just a bit disappointing. Changing the way the merge board looks and works is one thing, but taking away the progress I’ve made for the last year or so is annoying. With this update, I was expecting more rooms to build on the treehouse or themes to unlock, definitely not this. However, I didn’t lose any of my cats or costumes or anything like that so I can’t be fully upset.
Terrible Update
The most recent update is so frustrating. Really disappointing to lose so much progress and things previously earned in the game. The in-game compensation offered feels inadequate - a few one time boosts don’t make up for the permanent boosters that were revoked. It doesn’t feel worth it to keep playing if progress and earned achievements are just going to be wiped away through updates.
Fun until you get timed items
I’m all one for letting time build up energy and combining ingredients with that energy but as soon as I unlocked new stone Ingredients, it made me WAIT to use them. And even after I waited, they changed into completely different ingredients that I can’t use. I can’t do this. I’m done.
