Save your time and don’t even bother because even the VIP option with 600 gems won’t make it through an entire story. This is just a gimmick to make money on the gems.

Scam
You pay for one thing and they continue to charge your card at random times. Scam!!!! And they don’t answer customer service emails.
Gemz or no advancement
It’s all fun & games until you’re basically forced to pay to play .. smh . The story line was getting good too but not worth the $$$
Great game but
I like the game the stories are great reads but the fact you have to use diamonds every 5 seconds to basically do anything is ridiculous. Especially when you have to use a huge amount of diamonds. No one is about to keep paying for diamonds just to have a great game experience. Then if you want to get free diamonds you have to go through 1000 different things on another game just to get a few diamonds or they fail to give them out. Just ridiculous! Do better.
random charges to debit card
Randomly received a $9.99 charge from the Chapters app (crazy maple studio) even though I have not bought anything off the app in about a month. I do t have an active subscription so I’m not sure where the $9.99 deduction came from. Asked for a refund but may have to just get a new card all together if it’s that easy for them to charge my card even though I’ve not bought anything.

A Noticeable Shift
I have been reading on this app for a few years & I am a VIP user. There has been a noticeable shift in the types of stories on the app. A lot more of the Chapters original stories are conservative leaning about VERY unexperienced young women in age gap relationships with an older man that’s she gets with & sometimes in that age gap relationship the man has a significant amount of power over the young woman. It’s a strange & noticeable change in the types of stories being given to us as users. Not to mention the degradation of the writing in the stories. The originals aren’t good but the chapters user stories are good but those don’t last long as if it’s popular the app will remove the original content only to make their own version that is a diamond drain. Part of why I pay for the VIP is because it was advertised that as a VIP you would sometimes get free premium choices in stories but those don’t happen anymore. Also every event within the game has an achievement that requires you to pay to achieve it. Not to mention in the events you will RARELY win anything beyond a possible free choice pass, guaranteed maple coins, & maybe a piece of clothing. You rarely win any of the diamond prizes. At this point it seems like this app is just draining money out of my pocket. Not to mention the change in the looks of the women characters. Their faces look very young. Oddly young.

I’ve been playing chapters for about a decade but it is honestly just a time killer at this point. There are ALWAYS annoying glitches like the app not saving your progress if you don’t finish a chapter in one sitting then requiring you to pay another ticket to pick up reading the same chapter you already paid one to read. There’s also this incredibly annoying habit of the app crashing and refusing to load past 30%. I find this happens whenever it storms really bad. I’ve been trying to no avail to restart my phone, click in and out of the app, etc for the past 24+hours and nothing has worked. I don’t want to delete and reinstall bc every time I do that the app does not recognize my log in attempts and I lose my progress by starting over from ground zero. There are some great community stories but nearly EVERY chapters official story is written like absolute garbage in language suggesting it was made by and for elementary aged students. I think my friends and I wrote better stories than these in middle school. Not to mention many are just gem farming mines with premium diamond choices that don’t even make sense in the context of the story and add nothing to the plot. Oh and if you don’t pay 30+ diamonds for fairytale ending in romance stories be prepared for your character to ask for an unwarranted divorce. No wonder I take year long breaks from this game.

Ads No Longer Have X
Used to play Chapters all the time but now with all the ads there’s no X to close out of them so it keeps bringing me to the App Store multiple times. No longer fun.
Locked out due to Update
Since the update I CANNOT get back on to get daily points and read the stories. Can someone fix it.
Too expensive!!
The app is good, and the stories are interesting and exciting. However, you cannot get decent gameplay without gems or spending money on it. It's too costly. The VIP pass isn't good enough; it should bypass the gem requirement for a monthly fee. Also, I would even pay for the app monthly, so I don't have to keep purchasing gems. Nonetheless, this app is nothing but a MONEY GRAB. I will no longer be playing due to the excessive need to have gems.
