Manipulative system
They’ve a consistent pattern of wins and losses. Let’s say you’re about to go from 1400 to 1500. You would advance pretty quickly and then lose multiple games until you’re in low 1400s and then win again and then lose. This pattern continues for about 2 weeks and then you get a settled score of 1500
And then the same pattern repeats.

They deleted my previous review that’s why it’s close to 5 stars
They sell your personal information to EVERYONE. I explained how they do it on a previous review but it’s not there anymore. They delete the low star reviews which in my opinion should be illegal. Use only if you want 15+ spam calls a day. Also they track your id, browsing history, location, phone number, etc.

Was called the n word because of my country. Reported the player and they were never banned. To the devs: I’ve reported them five times over the past month no ban. Even sent an email report no response.
Edit: 7 reports now.
Also if you play bullet it’s broken. You play with one added second after each move but don’t get a full second to even move.

Chess.com is a terrible money driven algorithm that’s based around making sure bots get hidden as real players to then make you compete against a robot when you’re supposed to be playing a real person

STOP WITH THE ADS BEFORE EVERY GAME
Guys, I get that ads drive revenue. But a 5 second casino ad before every third game I play is getting so annoying I'm about to delete the app. I shouldn't have to get another monthly subscription to not be bombarded with ads.
Ux is very frusturating
I am so sorry but this app is extremely hard to navigate and use. It used to be simple and intuitive but now it's a strugglefest trying to set up a simple game with my friend.... Like bad enough that I had to leave a review I hope it will lead to improvements 😿😿

New home screen with carousels is a catastrophe. Please leave it alone. I don’t want to see puzzles on the top, there’s a tab for them. Don’t make my active games tiny-that’s literally the whole point of the Home screen.
Don’t turn everything into a side swipe shelf/carousel. It’s terrible ux and the worst use of screen space possible. Make it simple instead of dumping every single option in the app onto the home tab. What a mess…

DO NOT GET THIS GAME.
Meh, I don’t feel like this game is worth it. Plus it puts so much pressure on you to pay for premium. I honestly think you should at least get 3 free puzzles and there shouldn’t be a limit on coach games. I do not recommend this for literally anyone. Pretty “surprised I haven’t quit yet, TBH. NOT A GOOD GAME!!!

Mobile app worse with each patch
Have people who play the mobile app test your patches before you push them. Please god.
The back and forward buttons during game review are now atrocious with responsiveness. You still have the move list right above the back and forth buttons so it’s easy to misclick and jump around when trying to advance move by move, then it’s impossible to actually go back to the move you were on because the place to press for each move is way too small to accurately land a finger or thumb.
Move list shouldn’t be close enough that you can accidentally click it when trying to go move by move.
Individual move buttons should be larger and separated so you can easily click on them, the UI in game review mode hasn’t been touched in ages, even tho you do these constant over iteration updates all the time.

Using analysis after a game ends has caused the app to crash for over a year it’s genuinely the most annoying thing ever

Tournament Tab Major Issues
Recently, it appears the tournament section is still experiencing major bugs. When accessing the current daily tournament tab, I have no options to select my tournaments, current tournaments, etc.
These drop down menus were available before, but have oddly disappeared. I now have to go through a lengthy, awkward pathway to access and view the tournaments I am currently competing in.
Another major issue is the app will not allow me to join tournaments. When I attempt to click the join button, nothing happens. It is not a timeout issue or anything else, and I know this because it won’t even display an error when clicking join. It simply does not work.
I love the app and still use it, but seeing as the tournament section has suffered even more issues I have to lower my rating to three stars.
Hopefully this can be resolved soon, because this app is still the best overall chess app to use in my honest opinion.

This app was always good until recently now it is always stalling out taking forever to get into games I also recommend it to everyone but I wouldn’t anymore there is a lot of issues with this app now this app is progressively just getting worse. They’ve now introduced ads if there’s another Chess app I would try that instead all downhill from here!

Four stars that’s all know what five stars found the problem I just had to change my background for chess made me like chess.com even more thanks chess.com yeah I came back I lost all of my puzzle rating I had 3016 now 1236 am BACK TO THREE STARS FOR YOU CHESS.COM!!😤
