I work hard for my money and felt betrayed by chime when it wasn’t given back to me. I’ve NEVER disputed a charge before EVER. Because it was no need to. But once I have an issue and expect you guys to back me up .. I was highly disappointed. I don’t have $80 to give away. THANK GOD I didn’t try to withdraw more than that.

Fraudsters
Chime representatives are selling and stealing private information and using it to steal money from customers. My Pay is a scam. I’d advise against using chime. They steal (borrow without prior approval) and promise to pay it back as if it’s okay to steal in the first place. Chime stole over $3,000 from me. Be mindful when you use call back center because they are crooked

Between my physical card consistently getting locked, no matter how much is in the account, and electronic transfers taking days to move I cannot recommend this PITA bank.
Bonus events
Only bad thing about the app is it doesn’t have a Zelle option and the “bonus events”; referring people. They never paid me for referring my brother.

I’ve been banking with only Chime for awhile now and the minute I need to deposit a medical leave check, you deny me that? Just a forewarning to everyone do not bank with them, it seems great at first but they won’t even give you a real reason why they deny you depositing a medical leave check when you literally bank with them. Don’t bother calling customer service either because as friendly as the employees are they know absolutely nothing, chime doesn’t tell them anything. I regret telling people how great chime is and referring people. I’m closing my account and opening up with a real bank.(And don’t reply with the “I’m not a real bank” BS, you guys are wrong ASF for this, this is my bill money)
Horrible App&Company
I am not even sure how they get all these ratings to be positive. Used them for a couple years, they let an unauthorized transaction from Walmart.com be processed on my account so I quit using them. Their customer service was good, until you get to the dispute department which is absolutely useless. They basically want you to do your own detective work on tracking down who and how used your card on a website. I’m not a fraud specialist that’s why I use cards with fraud protection. And it’s impossible to speak to someone who speaks English as their native language. I have actually had a way harder time trying to add money to the account to pay the negative balance from the fraudulent transaction just so I can close it than than someone did using my card info. I’ve never filed but one dispute on a debit card before this and this is how it went… just shameful.
Customer service
Customer service sucks, dispute resolution is even worse. I’ve had chime since 2016. I’ve already found what I think is a better banking app. As soon as my issues are resolved. I am moving on. I rarely do Apple reviews. I had too, just because of the troubles I am facing due to lack of communication and time.
Account closing
Closed my account for no reason after having it for more than two years then I called the dumb mf’s and asked why and they said “no reason” they lucky I had a real bank and I only use chime for small purchases I hope someone sue them one day I wish I had the energy to! Ridiculous but what do I expect from a bank that’s not real
Possible Chime Employee Fraud!
I have been a Chime acct holder since 2018. I recently received a call fro Chime Customer Service (on my caller ID). They informed me that someone in China had hacked into my checking acct and was making hundreds in purchases. Then directed me to give all of my acct info, numbers, etc. so they could do some sort of person to person transfer? At which point I woke up to the fact that this was a scam. I cussed them out and hung up. I immediately redialed the number. It was Chime’s official number! I have to conclude that it must have been an employee of Chime then? I am no longer banking with them. Who knows who has access to your accts there. Too bad. I really liked Chime for years.
Annoying ads

I’ve used chime for quite some time now and over the past few years time and time again someone has been able to obtain my virtual credit card
Number don’t ask me how because I don’t let anyone have access to my phone or my cards but someone has obtained the virtual credit card number and fraudulently spent multiple thousands of dollars of the money I have on chime and every time I’ve disputed these charges and nearly everytime the dispute are not resolved the criminals at both chime and whoever keeps being able to get a card number that no one has access to make off with thousands and thousands of a poor man’s money. Chime you all a f\/c¥ing suck and are part of the problem

False advertising
They offered me 100$ after I brought my direct deposit to chime unfortunately since I already moved it I was ineligible I was told to contact chat they just lie and give the runaround totally lame and they lie they offer nothing of value
Chime Thieves
My car gotten broken into and a lot of my information was stolen and used , an when trying to file a dispute I gave them more than documentation to prove what happened and they shut me down , my account has been over drafted and used to where I had to stop putting my money into them . Highly wouldn’t recommend they don’t care about their customers at all.
Worst experience using this app
Recently got scammed buying a camera and sending money through this app. Then reached out to their customer service and documented my scam experience. Everything was going well and the dispute department filed a dispute transaction for me. Waiting for a long time and have proof that I am really scammed, until the agent denied the dispute. Very disappointed. No help at all. They can not resolve anything.

Horrible customer service
Chime will do absolutely nothing for you if you are scammed. They won’t retrieve any merchant info and will “investigate with a professional team” but won’t take any pictures or chat logs and their “professional team” doesn’t even have a number to call. They won’t reach out to you, and nothing will be done. Stick to PayPal, stick to regions, anything other that this trash company.
They will close your account and rob your money, stay away!
They just unexpectedly closed down my account and stole over $600 from my bank account that was connected to chime. Looking into suing these scammers now.
No loyalty to its members
Ive been using chime since 2020 and i have had access to spot me since I joined in 2020 and it was like this for for a few years then all the sudden chime plus became a thing and now I need to set up a direct deposit to even access spot me ?? That’s a rip off if you ask me because I used to use my spot me to get me outa a pinch if I didn’t have money for food or something and now I need plus to use it now ??? Hmmm I’m definitely considering closing my account

Every time you call you get someone who lives somewhere in the heart of China that can’t even pronounce your name. Then they don’t understand simple phrases like “what is the balance on my account?” You MUST ask for a English speaking manager that also understands English just in order to ask simple every day questions regarding you account. This is AFTER you tell their AI BOT FOUR TIMES that you want a live agent. I’m about done with this bank. The last manager to speak to my husband thought it best to run her mouth incessantly instead of listening to the problem my husband had with his account. She would NOT stop talking at ALL!! Up until she said she was ending the call because my husband was yelling at her. YUP!! He was hopping mad because she didn’t have her listening ears on today. Hopefully that quality assurance she was talking about for the call goes back on HER!!!
Frustrated with AI and lack of help
No matter what I do I can’t add a debit card from an external bank account to INSTANT transfer money. I want to speak to a real human being not AI support that tells me the same info as a google search. Venmo is way better and helpful.

Terrible app.
It was going good until I received my card in the mail. Once I got the card, the app logged me out and emailed me saying “they can’t verify my identity.” I Tried using both of the options the gave me by signing in with email and password and using ID.
With the email, it worked until I got to the password screen and it kept telling me my password was wrong. So, I tried again. Same thing happened. Then I tried the ID. I did as I was instructed and told either A.): “Sorry, it’s not you it’s us.Try again later. Or B.) it just buffered for hours on end.
This is a terrible app.

Unhelpful
Customer service is terrible, told me I was speaking unprofessionally on the phone call after telling me they can’t help me recover my money? What the heck? I have a Minnesota accent but I’ve never heard that it’s “unprofessional”. Terrible customer support, just go to a credit union. Chime will let your money be stolen.
1.9 stars on Google Maps. Customer is always wrong
How can Chime have 5.0 stars on the App Store and 1.9 stars on Google Maps (check the San Francisco headquarters).
No matter how well-made it is, this app is junk because it finds ways to trick you out of your money.
If you want to end up feeling stupid, then join Chime. They’ll promise cash bonuses and find a way to waste you money and then they will spend a lot of time explaining how it is your fault.

Worst service ever 😭 0 stars Chime should be Crime
Worst service I have ever encountered. Do not download Chime (should be Crime) or use this company: 0 stars, they have the worst employees possibly known to humankind. Such low intelligence so useless.
They placed a notification on my homepage saying I needed to respond to an email or my account would be blocked. The problem is that I never received the email.
I contacted chat support (don’t waste your time) and was told they would send me another email. They never did. I then called and spoke with a manager who said he couldn’t help directly but would escalate my case and that someone would contact me within 24 hours. That never happened either.
Every time I use chat support, I end up wasting 30 minutes to an hour and nothing gets resolved. At this point I’ve completely given up on chat support because it’s a waste of time.

I am actively looking for another bank because I no longer trust Chime to handle customer issues properly. Avoid this company if you value your time and want reliable customer service.

My account was completely taken over. I saw a text I got a password change code. Didn’t touch the link, but downloaded the app to change the info and STILL got hacked. Now I cannot get in. I haven’t used my account for YEARS until I see the text. What a garbage company
Keep allowing this creditor to keep taking money without permission.
A certain creditor keeps taking money from my account and keep challenging the creditor. And getting the money back. But have asked chime to block these transactions. Very disappointed with Chime for allowing this to keep happening. But if can get this resolved they are a great card to have.
