Useless
Exclusively used it to get guitar chords for simple songs from YouTube. Tried it with songs I know. The first two songs decoded were ok but not completely accurate. Now it’s completely off even for songs with simple 3 chord progressions. Chords are completely wrong, time signature is wrong. What do I use it for? This free version is useless. Why would you pay for premium if the demo is not working- not worth it.
Recent update
Makes it to where I need to pay to transcribe more than 8 songs from YouTube. Not doing that. This app has worked pretty well for me through the years. It did revoke my payment for the full version for whatever reason maybe a conflict with iCloud accounts idk. But after already having that happen and now being forced to pay I’m going to be promptly deleting this app. Thanks for being decent for the time you were. But that’s over now.
Not so great
Tried out a handful of different songs. It couldn’t accurately transcribe guitar, pianos, or synths. Not even close. It can usually find the root note, but that’s it. I’ll just learn it by ear.
Billed me 3 weeks early on a cancelled subscription.
I normally don’t write reviews but I read them often because they are very helpful to help me to choose if I purchase an item or not. For me this app was not very helpful and not what I wanted so I cancelled this app a couple of days after I downloaded it. I had a one month free trail so I was billed 3 weeks early before my cancellation. I guess they were hoping that I didn’t notice. This practice is dishonest and a form of theft. I imagine that they make a fairly good income off of people who don’t check their monthly payments. If you download this app and cancel just beware of this practice.
Doesn’t work!
This app was working fine a few years ago but now it just wasting money. Files and music doesn’t load from other platforms. The app always crashes when I try to download and analyze music.
Used to be pretty good
Now it is subscription with no features I need that weren’t previously free.
App keeps freezing
Hi. I really liked this app in the free trial version but as soon as I bought it it started freezing up. I contacted support and no answer. I feel ripped off and want my money back because it is not working now.
Limited instruments
My daughter is learning clarinet and saxophone and wanted to play some deep cuts that she doesn’t have music for, but this app doesn’t offer notes for those instruments.
Used to be good
This used to be a great app. It has now become so unstable that it crashes before analyzing the song. It has become unusable. Kept hoping an update would happen to straighten it out. Used to be a great app.
Not for guitar players…
Just need an app to outline the chords and the different structures. This doesn’t do that. It picks up the vocals so if you play keyboard, cool- guitarists steer clear.
Not functional on iPad Air
I subscribed with pro version on my phone and I can’t use it on my iPad: No way to login to my account I couldn’t access my library or uploaded song on iPad Air. I have Apple Music I can’t upload them even YouTube can not upload on iPad.

I bought an annual professional subscription to this app in November 2024 from my old Android. I bought myself my first iPhone for Christmas 2025 and now I can’t use my subscription. There’s no one to contact for help?
Stopped working
This was a great app, up until it stopped downloading YouTube videos and my own collections of files or even my own recordings. I had gotten use to relying on it for gigs and other performances. But I have not had any success on getting this fixed. I’m thinking of unsubscribing soon. 😟
Broke as soon as I upgraded
I really love this app because it’s a great learning tool in so many ways but as soon as I upgraded to try different tunings (open) it effectively broke my app. The chords stopped displaying even when I switched it back to standard. I had to reinstall the app to make it work and I still can’t switch to certain open tunings without breaking it. I’ll give it a five star when this is fixed. It’s too bad I can even use the free trial cause it’s effectively broken so I wasted it.

Free YouTube is now a charge?
Not sure how you're charging to use what is essentially another company's service but I don't appreciate taking what was free and putting it behind a pay wall. Guess I'll be using another service
Not good for Mandarin or Cantonese songs
I need this for some Mandarin and Cantonese songs. While the Ukulele chords were fine, the lyrics weren’t accurate. Some were way off, which I don’t have the time to correct the words manually. Therefore, I canceled my free trial.
Missing Keyboardist’s Chords
We downloaded this app in hopes it would transcribe the keyboardist’s chords; however, it really only transcribed the min chords already known.
Hardly any song works now
The app was good but now hardly any song in my Apple Music library on my iPhone converts to chords. All I get is a big red record button and absolutely no chords. It also shuts off headphones and routes audio to phone speaker. Have to give this one a fail, at least right now.
buying app of NO benefit
This program has a lot of nice features as a free app. However, when I purchased it for $70/year I received few additional benefits. It did give me different fret positions which I like, however, the key transposing does not seem to do anything. Printing the PDF just gives multiple pages of cord printout - i.e. if there are four measures of one. chord you get four measures across the page. versus a very concise way of presenting the same four measures with key. Additionally, there are no lyrics attached to it so it becomes cumbersome to try to play it and sing. This app has a lot of potential, however I have canceled my subscription because there are too many glitches and failures to be worth that money. If they can work out some of those issues I might reconsider but at this point, I do not recommend buying.
