Dark Mode

Ridiculous

Title says it all. Does that make sense? Perfect credit, never missed a single payment. From $5000 down to $2012 because i used my credit with other companies. I understand reducing risk but where is the risk in someone with perfect credit making 100k a year over $5000 credit? Doesnt make sense. Waste of time. Mind you i paid the yearly fee with $5000 in mind. Now i am paying double the fee for half the credit. Total rip off company

When I tried to open it, it would not allow me to open it.
When I tried to accept the terms and conditions, it kept jumping back and asking me to accept terms and conditions

The update’s basically forget past customers, especially those who maybe elderly, economically challenged or anyone with an older, reliable mobile device! As, the app seems to also require a new mobile device? During the current socioeconomic & financial political woes it would seem to banking institutions would be able to create solutions for app updates which would consider all clients, not just those who can afford the latest phone upgrades, which is thousands of dollars out of range for many US citizens! Why are we banking with institutions which are inconsiderate of its account holders? Some of us are long term account holders!

Too cluttered, doesn't save layout, shoes me the same product ads i've closed
As the title. I close the pane with my closed loans, but every time I go in the app it is expanded so I see my closed loans. I have to scroll past that to see more excerpt before that I have to go to a lot of product ads which I've already dismissed both literally and figuratively. No, I don't want to see your low rate CD which I also have to bring in new money to get the rate.
Overall the app is way too cluttered and I can't set it up the way I want and have it retain that over various sessions. No wonder I don't use the brokerage feature since because it's too much trouble to load each time. As a long time customer of both Citi and WF, it's obvious which app I use when I decide to place an ETF order in the middle of the night. And when other dinosaur institutions insist on paper checks, WF sent a free package fedex 2-day; I am still waiting over two weeks for basic checks I had to pay for and that also cost shipping. Yes, I do have a relationship tier. I don't know why I keep it though.

Poor support and poor handling of account
Called support about my account I logged in and wasn’t able to access my checking account. While speaking with someone about a check clearing the account my call dropped. Meanwhile when I went in to cash check the teller tells me I’m all good. I call back to verify my information again and they inform me they closed the account. After explaining the call dropped. I called back to verify all information correctly and accurately. I’m not perfect and not in control of technology or cellular phone service drops. Just to have my account closed by a bank that I thought was great. Very disappointed

Cannot Paste Passwords
Using an offline password management app, I typically copy and paste a complex password (which then clears from the clipboard) into the app. The latest version of this app breaks the ability to paste a password entirely making it unusable.

Locked me out of my account
I opened a new account, funded it, received a direct deposit, and attempted to send money with Zelle. Rather than just denying my transaction, it locked me out of my account, so now I can’t even see my money, much less use it.
I called their support line, which had rather poor quality phone technology which made it hard to understand the person on the other end, and verified my identity in multiple ways as they specified. After all of this, the individual told me that it didn’t matter that they had verified my identity because I still wouldn’t be able to access my account until I receive my card, why could be in over a week.
It is bewildering to me why you would not make this known to a customer. Why would you allow a customer to set up Zelle, verify their identity, and then be locked out of their account with no way to access it until they receive their debit card, assuming no delivery complications? This is a horrible and unfair policy. Why would you not simply prohibit Zelle set up until they receive their debit card?
I am extremely disappointed with this app and probably will not bank with Citi for much longer after this experience.

Inability to transfer funds between internal accounts!
I would give less then 1 star if it would let me as I have not been able to transfer funds between my internal accounts on the app for the last 4 weeks. I have called Citibank support a total of 5 times; the result is they are working on fixing it, it seems to only be effecting some customers, they have NO estimated time frame that it will be fixed, and their suggestion is to give negative feedback which is not an answer it’s just blowing me off. This app doesn’t work properly and their tech support team is obviously inferior to other financial institutions! They are unable to fix a very commonly used feature for weeks now and don’t even have an idea when it could be fixed!

Customer service
My credit card balance was $6500.12. I paid the balance in full on 3/27/26. Online my balance owed updated to $0. I decide to use my citi card for a beach with my family due to the 0% apr deal I currently have. I arrive to the hotel on 4/2/26 and my card declines at check for less than $2000. I contact customer service thinking it is a fraud issue because im out of stare. Turns out the customer service representative stated my payment would not post until 4/3/26. The money has already cleared my bank account on 3/31/26. I requested a manager, the representative told me “A manager won’t be able to help you.” After asking an additional 5 times I was transferred to a manager who was able to help me but I had to log into a 3rd party site to allow the manager to personally see the money was debited from my bank account. After this vacation this card will go and collect dust with the rest of the useless items in my closet.

Unreliable, not user friendly
The Citi Mobile app is one of the most frustrating banking experiences I’ve had. The interface is unintuitive and error-prone in ways that have real financial consequences.
I initiated a transfer FROM my account, and the app processed it as a transfer TO my account, the exact opposite of what I commanded. This wasn’t a minor inconvenience. The mistake overdrafted my other account, causing fees and financial stress that should never result from a simple transfer.
When a banking app can’t correctly process the direction of a fund transfer, it isn’t just a UX problem. It’s a liability. I expect basic reliability from a financial institution’s app. Citi Mobile failed that standard completely. I’ll be managing my transactions through a branch or a more dependable platform until this is fixed.

Forces you to use a weak password
Recent updates prevent you from pasting a password into the login field. If you use a complex password (and you should), this behavior makes that extremely difficult. That will effectively force you to use a weak, easy to remember and type password instead. Citi doesn’t provide a way to notify them about problems with the app, so leaving a poor review here is the only option.

This App is Hot Garbage
The app suddenly locked me out and wouldn’t let me reset my password. It even removed FaceID which I’ve never seen before. I tried to reset the password multiple times and it wouldn’t accept anything even though it met the terms.
I called the company and they told me to uninstall and reinstall the app. I have and now can’t open the app at all it just repeats “accepts turns and agreements?”. I guess I’ll go back to using the website only? I always thought this app was so so but was fine but the fact that it could function so poorly for a financial institution makes me think I need to switch banks because they don’t seem to have a good handle on their systems.

Bloated carcass of an institution
Tried to add my card to my Apple wallet. Told me to call in for some reason. Went through authentication and was told they were gonna send a letter so I could complete authentication. Then they locked my card. Called back in, got through authentication and was told that they couldn’t authenticate me (?) and would have to wait for the letter.
