Keeps asking for a passkey
Every time I open the app it’s asking for a passkey. I don’t have one. It won’t even let me type in a password or just use Face ID. Happens every time I select something in the menu. Completely unacceptable app.

This app was almost 5 stars but it’s gone downhill. “Buy it Again” no longer works, the Same Day page is missing items & links, grocery vs Same Day is also weird. I hope Costco doesn’t start doing like the rest, allowing their app to fail because of customer loyalty. I order items and pay for it then the shopper grabs items but there are things that have been excluded with no mention of what happened. This then forces me to go to a grocery store, which defeats the purpose. Will never be more than 1 star app because of this and stop logging me out the stops app. What happened to the quality of this? I hate this app now. It’s full of junk, missing or lack of items to choose from. We’re spending less these days.

There is no apple pay or google pay or easy integration with modern payment methods like PayPal or Klarna. Removing an expired card is a nightmare. Who still requires credit card numbers in 2026? Using this app at the warehouse is terrible. It takes forever to load your card and you’re stuck there waiting for the app to load while in line with the store rep. There should be a lightning quick method pull up your membership barcode. Even tapping it to enlarge it requires 2-3 taps because it frequently doesn’t register the first tap. Love costco as a store but their technology, website, and app are all very outdated and not in a good way. There’s good old school and then there’s bad old school.
Passkey
You need to fix the constant asking of passkey and or password on the app. Should be one and done, not every time you move to another screen.

Costco card + fsa card payment options in the app needs an improvement. Also very slow app by modern standards. Can do better

I love Costco but man is this app an embarrassment. It signs you out every time you close the app, so everything you had in your cart is gone. You have to try signing in again just for it to restore it. Then when you go to purchase something it errors out AND wipes your stored credit card info “for security purposes”. This app is so annoying to use. You’re better off deleting it and using your browser.
One of the worst apps ; best stores
The app is pathetic when compared to Amazon or any other half decent E-commerce site. Log in is hard. Loses credentials constantly. Loses cart. The UI is from the 1990s. The team working on Costco app needs new thinking. New leadership.
Access Denied
Try to order on APP it couldn’t add to cart. Go to cart page it said access denied. Hope they will fix this issue soon
Sign on
If you want to change your sign on email address and have no access to the previous email address you cannot update it. Period. Or change cell phones no membership card. Either one, you have to go into a store and have membership fix it. Not at all convenient!
Absolutely Disappointed
Bought the Costco membership to save on gasoline costs to then find out they don’t accept Mastercard so I miss out on my 4% Bitcoin rewards at the pump. Shutting off auto renewal within the hour of purchasing the membership. Will see if I can get a membership refund.

👉🏻 fix this, I should not have to call to have Costco search for a purchase, I should have a SEACH option, but Even though there is a SEACH next to purchases, (insinuating, I can search my purchases), that’s not what it does it searches things to buy, even though I’m in the purchase history section, this is not logical‼️
This app thinks I’m in Ontario Canada!
I don’t know why this app thinks I’m in Canada when I’m in Illinois and I can’t program it to tell it that I’m actually in the United States.
Unable to access Cart on the app
Could not complete the purchase as once item is added. The cart page is not accessible, it says Access Denied
Warehouse Savings and Links Issues - V 26.6.1
When viewing Warehouse Savings, tapping “Save to List” causes the view to jump up or down. One has to scroll up or down to find the last saved item. On a warehouse list, the “Savings” link does not work. On an online list, items no longer link to their pertinent pages. Both have been missing on past several versions of the app.

With the new update it made it harder for me to add coupon savings to my list. Once I click the “heart” button to add to my list the page updates to random category. When clicking on category on top is no help, it’ll just bring you to a random page. Very frustrating.
Warehouse Sale started today (6/15/26) but when adding to a list, sale items are shown as Expired???

Great store, Terrible app
As much as we shop at Costco with our weekly trips to feed our family, the app is probably the worst out of all the retailers we use. Some items are literally impossible to search for in the app, and they aren't even seasonal items, but regular items that we see are carried year round.
Costco, you are a great place, but at your size, there is no excuse for not having a well oiled app at this point. You are likely losing a large portion of business to other places for this very issue.

Can’t get a printable receipt or invoice
Doesn’t have the ability to create a printable receipt or invoice for online orders. This complicates insurance and FSA claims.

Can’t review prior purchases on the account tab. Can’t get the cart to load for me to check out. Really not sure what you can use the app for anymore to be honest.

Unbearable Passkey Prompt
The app keeps prompting a passkey pop up every few seconds. There is no way to disable or delete this. I even tried disabling passkey in my iPhone settings and the app still relentlessly keeps asking for it. It’s built into the app with no way to disable it, yet when I try to create a passkey, it only gives me 2 options that aren’t possible. Like I’m supposed to have a key to insert into my phone just to use your app?! Or do I have to borrow another phone to scan the QR?!? Come on, Costco, there is nothing in your app that needs that type of security. Let me use my Face ID and move on! Disable the Passkey!!

One of the worst apps I’ve ever used. Horrible buffering, logs you out everytime it updates, and obvious race conditions in the software when loading pages that leads to circular dependencies. Awful.

The app is slow and laggy. It constantly logs me out, which is very annoying and unnecessary. Lack of Apple wallet support is very disappointing and outdated. They use a rolling QR code to combat card sharing, and people who follow the rules get lumped in with the cheaters and miss out on having a good app with good features. The app shows as five stars, but if you look at recent reviews they are mostly bad.

Terrible App
Can honestly say there are few apps that annoy me to the level that Costcos app does. For a store that requires you to scan in to enter, there are far too many app updates and auto log outs. I always check the “keep me signed in” box. When I get out of my vehicle it is open and logged in and without fail it will log me out automatically. Before I get to the door. Terrible app and has been.

I mean who doesn’t love Costco! Major fan but in the app I REALLY wish your cart would save. When I think of something I want to buy at Costco sometimes I just want to save it in my cart for a few weeks before checking out.

The mobile app is horrible. I’ve been a Costco member for years. I can’t login unless I add a passkey which is beyond frustrating. I just want to login using my username and password!! The passkey continuously pops up and it doesn’t allow me to login.

The feature that is meant to list your online orders has stopped working. Still getting emails about my order but this important and basic function stalls out. Just says “Loading…”
What’s going on with this app
In 2026, no excuse for a shopping app to be as slow as this app (adding items, updating cart, browsing, etc.). Data Product side should prioritize overall shopping experience by comparing Costco’s app with other apps like Amazon, Walmart, etc. Tons of movement needs to take place here to make this app better.

You can’t search and get good results. Literally can’t search the brand name of something you saw in the store and get the product to come up. Incredible.
Also, the prices are never correct for in store pricing.
Additionally they have seemingly dozens of “sales” running at the same time so you can’t tell what is the actual in store costs and the normal ad sale.

Poorly optimized web wrapper
Not sure how this app has 5 stars. It’s just a glorified web wrapper that is not optimized. Everything loads slow or doesn’t load at all, and half the buttons and pages are unclickable
Laggy experience
I’m pretty sure this app was written poorly just based on how slow and laggy it can be when just trying to search on it. Dev team should make a far more optimized app for iOS.
