No consumer support whatsoever
I have a crestron system in my Prevost Bus. Nothing but issues but the worst is setup Crestron Go App on several apple devices and the program makes me buy the app for every device I have including a on replacement one. At $99 a pop, this is ridiculous. I will never buy another coach with Crestron ever again.
Horrible app
Aside from the consistent lack of care to keep this app updated, routine freezes and connection failures, this app now has absolutely no functionality with the home automation system. Attempting to purchase the required 100 dollar license fails despite repeated attempts to acquire it rendering the entire system useless. A complete failure of a piece of software.
Can’t restore purchase
Restore purchase directs me to pay again during setup in my new phone. I purchased it back in 2021. I can’t control my home now. The support link on this page requires a login to talk to see any contact information. The functionality of this largely ignored app backs up a lot of money spent with this company on automation equipment for the folks who use it. They need to pay attention and at minimum do some updating and testing around major releases.
Why do I need to pay?
Why would I have to spend $100 on your app for each person in my family after I have already spend hundreds of thousands on your system. What a way to piss off your customers!
Failed restore of purchase
Would not let me restore purchase of upgrade through family share. It’s worthless to me, unfortunately.
Fraud
I don’t know how they got this past the Apple Store review, but this is fraudulent behavior from the developer. They copied the app, renamed it by adding “go” at end of the name and require you to repay the $99 to access your system. Further, as others have stated, many months in it still does not support the latest iOS release. something needs to be done by Apple here to protect users.
App Fails to Work or Acknowledge Prior In-App Purchase
I recently upgraded to iPhone 16 Pro and had previously purchased this app on iPhone 15 Pro. Now, the in-app purchase required to “upgrade” the app no longer works in any manner. The app acknowledges that I previously purchased the upgrade, but does not activate the upgrade. I cannot even purchase the upgrade again, because Apple App Store rightly informs the app I already own the “Upgrade.” So, now I am locked out of my Smart Home app controls.
Good luck updating app
An endless loop when I tried to migrate from an iPhone 14 to a 16. I got the message it could not connect to iTunes!!! iTunes? Crestron support sent me Apple who sent me to Crestron.
Unable to recover purchase
Like the last review, I am unable to recover my prior purchase of the app. I have tried pressing upgrade and it gives an iTunes error.
App stopped working
After restoring my phone from an icloud copy the app stopped working. The app suddenly displayed an upgrade button even though I bought it with the same account. Clicking that button trying to buy it again does not work.
Bad App
Not friendly especially when setting up on new iPhone. Important to have saved the configuration from old phone. It is under the edit pencil and then go to name given to your home setup and write down the parameters. No wonder everyone going to Control4 for home automation these days instead of Crestron
Fix reconnecting issue!!
Please fix it so that when you switch between apps, it doesn’t have to reconnect every time. This is such such a poor quality app for such a high price.

This app doesn’t work half the time and then it requires an upgrade for $100 after already paying the hundred dollars a couple years ago. Needs updating badly.

App crashing on ios 16.4.1
Whatever Crestron fixed in latest app release is now broken again in iOS 16.4.1. App hangs and then crashed when you leave app and come back to it. Do better Crestron!
Still not updated for iOS 16
iOS 16 was released to the public 6 months ago. It was in beta for 6 months before that. Crestron has still not updated this app for compatibility with iOS 16. If you accidentally rotate your phone or tablet vertically while inside the app, you’re done. Must Force-close the app, re-launch, re-load programming, etc. If you exit the app to respond to a notification, phone call, or anything else - when you re-enter this app the screen is black and it’s unusable. Must force-close it, re-launch, and repeat. I’ve used full Crestron automation in multiple homes for over a decade. From a company like Crestron I would expect app testing and updates to occur during the BETA phase of new iOS releases so that on day #1 of the public iOS release things are ready to rock with little to no disruption to the tens of thousands of households and businesses using it. In this case not only was the update not completed during beta, but now we’re 6 months post public release and it’s still barely useable. Not a good sign for Crestron. It’s making me re-think my loyalty to their home solutions, which used to be cutting edge.

App Crashes constantly
The older app was having issues so I was told to buy this one. This app barely works at all. It seems to always crash if you rotate your device.
Terrible & Frustrating
This app needs an update STAT!!! It locks up mid task, every time I use it and I have to power down and restart my phone 5 times a day just to use it all. Problem became more frequent after updating my iPhone to iOS 16.

As many other reviews have stated, this app barely works on iOS 16 - it hangs and crashes constantly, and you’re lucky you might be able to do one thing before it hangs and you have to restart it.
Also, if you buy a new device and transfer your apps to it, you have to pay ($99) again. Doesn’t this violate Apple’s terms of service?

$100 for an app that hasn’t been updated in over a year!
If it was free then I wouldn’t complain. If it wasn’t buggy then I wouldn’t complain, but it is not free and it is buggy, especially on iOS 16. And when you pay $100 for an app, you expect it to get updated to play nice with your phone’s latest software.

So the app that controls everything in my house? It broke when I upgraded to OS 16. Can’t access menus and can’t control functions. Crestron menus no longer work. Portrait lock no longer working.

99,99 Dollars for this is a scam comparing with a lot of other free solutions. Their products should be much more populair when they keep their apps free to use.

App not working after transferring to new iPhone 13
Crestron Go app worked fine until I transferred all of my apps and info to my new phone, now it doesn’t work at all, just shows the demo screen and not home, I’m not buying the app again, it was $90 and should’ve just transferred.
Why $99/person.. again?!
Why is this lame app $99/person?So for a family of four we are expected to pay $400 for the app??? And if we had already purchased the previous more lame app for $99/person now we have to pay it again instead of just being able to get an update? I seriously hate this app and system and would recommend that if you want anything technologically current get something else!

Family share won’t work
Typical Crestron - charging a family of six $600 to use a clunky, slow, mostly non-functional app. Worst mistake I ever made was installing Crestron years ago. Use anything but Crestron.

Disappointing
For what is supposed to be the highest end, Cadillac of the AV control world, this app is highly disappointing. If you move out of it and come back, it takes a few seconds to reload unlike every other app made.
The GUI lacks isn't the slightest bit intuitive.

Works - except launching is unreliable and transferring to a new iPhone is terrible
This app has been part of my custom built home’s automation for almost 4 years (well probably about 2 with Crestron Go vs the previous app). It has always had a problem with launching. Generally, it takes two times launching before it works. The sequence goes like this:
1. Touch the crestron go app and rotate my iPhone. Just a black screen appears
2. Close the app.
3. Touch the app and rotate my iPhone. Black screen appears and then my homes configuration shows with crestron logging in.
4. Things work normally.
They surely is some sort of fix for this type of bug. Can you please look at and then fix. My 2 stars would turn to 4.
In order for a 5, you need to fix the settings not coming over when I get a new iPhone. I forgot that I have to find my configuration from my home automation vendor and go through the laborious task of typing things in. Extremely annoying as the configuration for your app requires a lot of typing. You, also, only provide a working keyboard when in portrait mode which is the opposite of viewing mode when you have to enter the configuration (very confusing).

The volume bar doesn’t seem to work on the app. It is the yellow slider. Volume is same whether that is zero or full. Please fix
