I don’t understand why I have to pay for the same font every-time I decide to cut. It’s pointless to buy the subscription if I don’t use it that often!!

I can’t add text to anything the whole canvas goes crazy then I can’t find my project!

The most recent update seems to have taken away the ability to attach and unattach things. This is ridiculous and makes it unusable for so many reasons! Please fix this! The program usually is difficult to use at best, but users have been giving feedback about it for years without improvement. This is just one problem in a long line of headaches.

Yesterday I signed up for the one month Cricut Access Free Trial (value $12.99). Not even used it yet. Today? Just charged $16.99 - the cost for Premium Access! And no, I do NOT have access to premium content despite paying for it… unwillingly.

I can’t make any projects because the app always crashes at some point. I’ve tried every fix I’ve seen mentioned, and nothing works. The best results I’ve gotten is that it’s stopped crashing when I hit “make it” and instead crashes when I hit “send to printer”. Didn’t have this problem before you all over bloated the app with stupid AI features.

i’m forced to use this app for my business because i have circuits and unfortunately it’s just terrible. every update it seems to get worse. It’s unresponsive you can no longer features that used to be available. They’re constantly popping up, trying to get you to pay for it, which I refuse to do when you have no marketable aspects that would make me want to pay for this. The system is set up to make you waste product, waste paper and waste your time. Stop getting in the way and actually make the app useful.

Not only have I canceled my subscription because the software is getting worse and worse and is grossly overpriced, but I will be seeking a refund from the company for the wasted supples.

Nothing works used to be able to cut out parts of an image book cut doesn’t work. Absolutely nothing works.

Cricut has done nothing but fish you for money with their name brand $10 for 6 sheets of sticker paper and make their app more user unfriendly.
Stop updating the app to make it worse? It was fine before and now using this app as made my whole shop quit the app. Thanks 🤙

I have had my cricut maker for over 6 years. Design space used to work great for the first few years and now it just sucks. It literally gets worse with every single update. I should NOT have to close out the app and restart it every time I want to make a project. I design something and go to print or cut and everything freezes. It keeps freezing and the “set base material” refuses to load. I have to save the project, exit the app and restart it in order to proceed with my project. I have to answer the same question multiple times.
Also, for the last several months, whenever I plug in my machine, my laptop can never find it. It’s really getting old and frustrating. I have to reconnect and restart and do way too many unnecessary steps just in order to make a project and it was NEVER this way in the beginning. Cricut design space software just sucks big ones these days. It’s so bad that I despise making things anymore. Making things used to be a way for me to unwind and now it’s just too stressful strictly due to the horrible software. My machine is perfectly fine. This review is specifically for the software.

After this most recent update not only did it keep erasing my design if I left the app for a sec to check a message, which made me recreate it a couple of times before I saved it. Now it completely signed me out of the app and won’t give me access to sign back in. I tried uninstalling the app, reinstalling the app and reopening it to log in but I still get the same results. This is stopping me from making shirts when I currently have an order

Custom canvas is to slow, by the time I can get something to move I have completely messed up the part I am working on and have to start over, difficult to merge or splice, cannot experiment with other features if the basics are so painful to deal with. I’m just not going to use the machine. Why is something so simple made so difficult?

Worked completely fine for a couple projects but now it crashes every time I try to create something. I’ve tried the stuff you’re supposed to get it to work again, and nothing has helped. Without a functioning app, your Cricut machine becomes useless. Really wish this would work again for me though :(

I hate having to open my Cricut app! I used to love it now it lags! I can’t access “my stuff” tab it takes forever to completely open up or load just the homepage. Having the same issue on desktop. Have tried deleting and reinstalling app and nothing seems to help. Now I have to find another app where I can use my Cricut

Every time I use Design Space I’m reminded how much I dislike it. I hadn’t used it in months so when I finally had to update everything was different. Fine, I get it, things change. I understand streamlining the functions but I feel like I’m constantly hunting for the correct function now (after using the update for awhile). And the functions aren’t really in intuitive places. But my BIGGEST beef at the moment is that I need to turn dark mode on in my canvas and where I think the should be (3 dots in the upper left hand corner?) opens to just a tiny little bubble where it looks like there may be a menu as I can see letters but it’s such a small bubble I can’t do anything.

I am sick of apps being required and there is no opt out for anything. F all to your privacy. NOT DOING IT

This is the worst app I’ve ever used. Love my Cricut but dread having to try to get into design space. It’s laggy, I can’t access many of my old projects that I’ve paid to make. Today I can’t even open “my stuff” at all. Been trying to access it for over 2 hours because I need to make a few ting for my business and my child’s graduation. Mostly everything in the app costs money. I pay for the subscription but only off and on when I absolutely have to. The app used to be a little better but with every update it gets worse and is pretty much unusable the last few times I’ve been on it. I have spent so much time creating projects only to have to re-create them because the app can’t ever load any of my saved stuff.

Time and time again their updates just make their software unusable. I gave them enough chances. I’m switching my entire studio to other cutting machines. Worst company ever.

I feel like they stripped away so many tools that we were able to use for years. Terrible update.

app sucks. Can’t cut anything

Started my business a year ago and this app has helped me fulfill my dream. However, the recent update wiped all my projects and now I have to redo everything. This is extremely inconvenient and frustrating, especially at a time when I have a mountain of orders to get through. Contacted support and all they said was that I should have saved my projects to the cloud. Who pushes an update that wipes everything on the device? I don't know any other app that does that. Incredibly frustrated.

Requires me to update my device to run it?

It was 5 stars but now being unusable for me gets zero. I did love this app Until it was updated out of the capability of my aging iPad. Now I have to cancel my subscription because I can’t find a way to reload an older operating system that was working just fine.

They took offset away and looking for everything that was useful is now a chore. Cricut crafts used to be my getaway. Please fix

Stop changing the app! Every time an update is pushed out to make it “better” something changes for the worse. It is impossible to find anything with the changes.

I can almost never log in and once I do it barely works makes me not want to use it because of the stress
it puts me through

I used to love working with design space but with the most recent update it’s horrible. I subscribe to Cricut but I won’t anymore, everything is very uncomfortable and not fun to use… I will not tell my friends to use your app until you change things , I’m very disappointed and I have done nothing but wasted my money on this.

Back again writing another review on the worst app ever. The amount of bugs is insane. Random things stop working. Like being able to unlock the w x h positioning. The app doesn’t let you edit it!?!?!? I used to do it just fine. Horrible app makes me literally dread having to use my Cricut but I need to for my business. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

New update is awful. Hard to find things like welding tool. Used to be much simpler

Every single time a new update is released for this app the software just gets worse. Constantly crashing when trying to cut then print, screen keeps adjusting itself when I zoom in or out. It’s getting to the point where I dont even want to use my Cricut because I just get frustrated with this software.

I honestly don’t know how this app has a 4.7 review. I swear every update makes the app WORSE.

I’m literally trying to make stickers and the app won’t go into the make section. It straight up wont load. I have reset my ipad, updated the app, opened new projects, nothing. It’s already glitchy enough and disconnects from my machine for no reason, even though the ipad is still connected. I’m going to be returning.

Don’t waste time or especially money on this garbage. I used it for years but now an image won’t upload. I never wasted a single penny on the premium thank God!

This app has been awful for the last 3 weeks. Major updates that do not work properly making use clumsy & slow. I am a very active user, either designing my own, or revising projects extensively, using the Design Space app on my iPad. The user interface is inconsistent throughout and has lost most of its precision functionality. It seems there was extremely poor testing prior to launching such a major revision.

Every since the new update it’s been crashing and moving slow making it much harder to work been like this every since it required that updated

I’m trying to make a design out of text and with the new update I have to wait over a minute for it to load when I duplicate the text

This app on my phone looks absolutely nothing like the pictures that are preview here. I am not able to select anything. The back button is like placed underneath the save button so I can’t go back to edit anything. I have to start over now all of a sudden all of the things for me to resize rotate or do any of those things are now not on the bottom of the screen anymore. What the heck is the issue?

Says it’s compatible with my IPad yet the app refuses to allow me to access my tool bar on a new canvas design. Can’t choose fonts, upload image, anything whatsoever. Troubleshooting has been unsuccessful as well as the assistant on circuit website.

All it lets me do now is click and drag the surrounding box if I want to resize something. I used to be able to enter width and height. I can’t get the exact size I need for objects or lettering by just clicking and dragging the box. Please fix this soon; I have a birthday card to finish.

The app keeps crashing mid cutting, I hate it. It has made me waste a lot of material and time.

I use a 2024 ipad pro m4. Im running cricut vs 6.50.0 and ipad OS 26.2.1. This new update to design space is awful. Ive been a cricut user for 6 years and I just cant understand why go from a UI that worked perfectly well to something that makes it harder to perform actions and gives less information at a glance. Buttons have been moved, renamed, given a new look and many options and information have been buried in menus so it takes more clicks to perform an operation or see certain information. Also clicking certain buttons causes the screen to resize and reposition.
I loath the floating menus! They show up in different places and cover up part of the work area. Sometimes they or show up off screen, partly off screen, or not at all. This interrupts the work flow to search for the delete/duplicate/group/attach buttons or what size an object is because they are never in the same location anymore. I keep looking for them in the bottom menu where those buttons have been for ages.
Zooming is a nightmare. When I pinch to zoom in or out and it immediately jumps right back like I did not zoom.
When changing the font, the screen zooms and repositions it self. I can't reposition the screen without the font window closing. I like to edit where can see how certain elements look together and now I can't choose how zoomed in or out my screen is when changing a font. Nor can I see what font the text is at a glance. It used to be displayed right in the menu bar. If I want to see what font I have to click on the font menu, most of the time it doesn't even show what font I'm using. Especially if I switch between systems and cricut fonts.
If I want to resize something by typing in exact dimensions I have to click size button, then it does the same zoom in or out and the screen reposition thing that the font button does, then a box pops up where I can now toggle the lock for constrain proportions and type the dimensions. Before all this was just there visible and editable in the menu without extra clicks. Additionally if I type in a number keyboard pops up, i press a single key the keyboard closes making it impossible to type in a size. Occasionally the just the number pad pops up and i can type in that. It seems to randomly pick if i get the keyboard or the number pad.
Actually after clicking on all the buttons I found many of the menu options I click on causes the screen to zoom in or out and reposition without the option to reposition the screen to a preferred view without the menu closing. Font, size, effects, alignment, arrange, flip, rotate & position all do this. It's so annoying and makes everything harder to do or see.
Another annoying thing I've discovered with the last few updates is i can no longer long hold to select multiple groups/attachments/or flattened objects. For example lets say i have group a and group b. I used tap to select group a, long hold to select group b so both groups were selected at the same time. Then i could drag or resize group a and b together. Instead now when tap group a and long hold on group b it only selects a single object in group b. When i drag or resize it does all of group a and the single object from group b. The long hold to select multiple groups/attachments/flattened objects was super useful. The only way to select multiple groups at once is in the layers menu or drag my finger across the screen to select. The former is time consuming and the later is not possible when multiple groups over lap or are not near each other.
Contour is a nightmare to use now. The shape I tap on does not select or deselect, an adjacent shape gets selected or deselected. I had a whole grid of circles for a rhinestone template that was impossible to contour because its so bugged.
Im not even going to get into detail about all the nightmares ive had with print and cut lately. Flattened objects not printing correctly. Bleed doing weird things. Cuts being made where they shouldn't not. Certain images cut wrong on the same pages as images being cut correctly with a spot on calibration. And these are not user error issues since Im very proficient at using the cricut and troubleshooting issues.
Guide in the operations menu is missing on new projects now too.
Also when will we ever get the option to lock an object in place so it doesn't get accidentally moved or resized? Or when will we get the option to change the background color on the ipad to a custom color instead of just light and dark.
This has been a constant battle navigating so many bugs and bad features with the cricut software over the years. Its constantly one issue after another.

Not sure why the need to make the Design Space so difficult. Constant changes are not necessary. Nor are they helpful.

I used the app for less than a year. It was terrible. You are made to pay extra for many fonts and artwork inside the app after you pay an annual fee. I also canceled my membership and was charged anyways. When I immediately inquired about refunding the erroneously charged fee I was told “sorry, too bad”. This is such bad business practice and a total scam! Find any other option you can!! Totally not worth the headache.

This app is horrible and using it on my laptop is almost worse if that’s possible. Constant crashes. Won’t load. Can’t change fonts. I need to do projects and I can’t get anything done. It’s a non stop issue. Please make this app better cricut. You owe it to your users.

What I think was the latest update is horrible. It’s glitchy, non intuitive, I can’t move around on my grid without it snapping back to the top corner. And too many “clicks” to get to different operations. Put it all back on one menu selector please.

Using it on the mobile & tablet does not allow for layer/page resizing

The recent update is now causing connection issues with the machine. I have a Maker 4, purchased in December. It should work seamlessly and did so until last week. Also spent way too much time looking for basic features that this new update made difficult to find and now added more clicks to use it. Please address the connection issues.

If an app is updated and things change around I think the user should be notified how to use the new updated system. I hate when apps change everything and expect you to still now how to use it.
