The algorithm is relatively simple to figure out if one looks for patterns. None of the 5 letters drawn are actually randomized and the app adapts to your playing style in order to lead you to a similar result each time. Here’s the general order:
1. you start off strong for the first few rounds
2. by mid game they are catching up
3. about 85% thru you will be neck-and-neck with the AI opponent
4. for the last part of the game you will win (likely by 10-30pts).
How do I know this? Because I played exactly 50 games and I’m a demon at pattern detection. Don’t believe me? Try it for yourself.
Focus on successfully netting the word either in the far left column or the very top row. This test works even better if you can figure out what the word is early on into the game. You will likely not score these words because, eventually, when you get down to the last letter or two in that 7 or 9 letter word, the one or two letters that you need to complete the word will remain astronomically elusive. I spent 8 refreshes (8 refreshes x 5 letters = 40 attempts) trying to get a single letter. I never got it. The AI did, however, and on its very FIRST ATTEMPT. In fact, I noticed a tendency for the AI opponent to get the best scoring words for almost EVERY SINGLE GAME. DESPITE ME ALREADY KNOWING WHAT THE WORD IS, I *SOMEHOW* ALWAYS LACK THE LETTERS TO SNAG IT. GOSH, THAT’S SO WEIRD…
I seriously pity the people who have actually spent money playing this rigged game. Although, I’m sure that the devs are happy just raking in the profits. There are also WAY TOO MANY ADS.
Expecting an actual test of skill in a fair game with randomly drawn letters against an AI opponent? LOOK ELSEWHERE.

Annoying Ads
The ads are UNBEARABLE! Challenging game but the ads take away the fun. You can stop ads for 30 days and then pay again. One ad popped up and would not clear until I downloaded it!

Glitchy crashes
This game is really fun but it freezes and locks up every 15-20 minutes. Sometimes it goes blinky and could cause a seizure. Photo sensitivity warning. Also it constantly send notifications and has banners interfering with closing ads. I get 8 per ad one for each move that becomes available and the prepare my brain jibber jabber

not relaxing at all
this game is ridiculous. If you want to sit back and chill, this is not the game for you. It’s definitely challenging, but annoying. There are too many other puzzle options out there that don’t have so many obstacles just to play. I’m definitely deleting.

I love the actual game but the amount and length of the ads is insane. There isn’t a purchase option to permanently disable the ads either. An ad now and then is ok but the sheer volume and length they force on you takes the enjoyment out of the game.

Amazing game
I truly loved this game. It helped me avoid doom scrolling, kept my mind active, and genuinely improved my vocabulary. It became one of my favorite daily habits, and I even paid to remove the ads because the experience was so enjoyable. I hope the developers will please consider one important accessibility update. After about a month of playing, the puzzles began including clues and answers related to a certain small animal often associated with cheese and with a very famous Disney character. I have an extreme phobia of this animal, to the point that I cannot see or type the word. Once these clues began appearing in almost every other puzzle, I had to stop playing completely. This is very unfortunate because the game itself is excellent. I would happily give it ten out of five stars if I could. If there were an option to filter out specific clue topics or block certain words, it would allow players with phobias or sensitivities to continue enjoying the app. I truly hope the developers take this into consideration, because I would reinstall the game immediately. It is a wonderful app, and it would be even better with this small but meaningful accessibility feature.
Horrible chat option. Clearly customer service is SERIOUSLY lacking!
I had won a tournament and when the suitcase opened I had won 600 gems and a swap and a hint. When I clicked continue, it appeared the gems went to my bank but they never did. I was still at 150. I went through the support chat and was asked for my email and 20 minutes later, no one responded!
Where did they steal these screenshots from?

Solo play would be nice
I love crossword puzzles and other types of puzzle games. So I thought this would be fun. The opponent (bot or not) needs to go. Not every game has to be played against someone; a frequent thing lately. Would have been nice to have an option. As soon as I saw I had an opponent, I uninstalled.
Sick of false advertising
If you advertise the game lets you make words along a line, do that. The ad had almost nothing to do with the actual gameplay.
DECEIVING! NO WAY!!!
It says “ONE TIME PURCHASE” to remove ads but if you pay attention it’s a monthly “license” purchase that you must visit a separate website to see ANY information about it!! NO WAY!!!
Can’t see and not challenging
Needs larger font sizes to be able to read and same puzzles played with different people at the same time. Not challenging at all
Non-English Words & Repetitive
Uses non-English words for answers, but doesn’t say it’s a word in Arabic for Jesus or Spanish for “will be”. It just says, “Prophet” and “Future Tense”. And it keeps using the same clues over and over again. One board I thought it was a repeat as so many of the same clues were in the same spots! It took me a few minutes to find a couple clues that were different. So much repetition like they only have 100 clues and keep reusing them.

It looked fun as an ad on another game. But, that’s how they get you. The game itself has pictures that are so poorly drawn you can’t figure out what they are. Plus, I don’t mind ads, but not in the middle of a game. Deleting.

Is what you need to play this game. That there is no mechanism to zoom in so one can READ THE CLUES WHICH ARE CRUCIAL TO PLAYING THE GAME is rude, short sighted & stupid. Ruins the game.
Fun if you love ads
I was liking it pretty well until I started getting ads mid game, and they are LONG! Deleted it.
Falsely advertised
There’s no map no decorating it’s a complete falsely advertised game once again all lies lies lies the only thing I like is the crosswords but after winning over 25 games in a row it gets boring when there’s no other features like it said it should be like decorating or traveling a map lies very disappointed don’t download this game very misleading
Crashes often

I paid for no ads and after a month or two I’m getting ads and nobody answers you. I will change my review if they fix it
Locks Up Too Often
It locks up too often and then forces you to reboot your phone, which doesn’t always work. Could be a great game.

There are soo many problematic words in this game. Seeing noise over and over again is not okay. Also swastika was used in a few puzzles.
Mistakes and nonsensical clues
Clue: “actor Nicholas” Answer given “Cages”. Incorrect. Clue: “Vital” one letter answer: “V” ?????? Lots more like this. You end up guessing or needing hints. No thank you.
Invasive
Ads are extremely invasive. In one round you can get about 3 or 4 ads, and rounds go very fast. Not to mention a one time payment to remove ads completely doesnt exist. You have to pay monthly to get rid of them. Like this game is a streaming service or something. I was going to do one star but it got another because i did have fun on the crosswords. But the constant never ending ads completely ruined me wanting to play more of this.

I love this game but have uninstalled before because of the ads they are so ridiculous and overboard, I'm trying it again we'll see how long I can last this time. It's so sad that these pages are so pro ads, the whole entire internet is a big turn off.
Hints
When I use points for a review it doesn’t always work yet I lose the points anyway. One time I choose hint for my remaining tile -U. It pointed to where I had a tile letter A in place. So I moved the A and put the U there. Both moves were a mistake but that is what this *** system told me to do. Cost me points and lost a spot
What’s the point of getting your friends to join if you can’t play with them???
I like this crossword puzzle game, it’s not too difficult but still gives the brain a challenge and chance to stay away from doomscrolling. I have to say though, what’s the point of inviting your friends to download the game and get free gems if you can’t even PLAY with the people you’re inviting?
It seems like all the “players” you encounter on this game are in fact bots that are always online and “thinking” about their next answer. Please make it so that you can play with real people, including the people you’re friends with! It would make the game so much more engaging and enjoyable…

Fun until the ads
I enjoyed this game very much. Given that, there are issues that caused me to delete the game. The biggest were the ads. WAY too many. The next is too many clues don’t make sense. If they fix those issues, I might try it again. Why not give the players a chance to purchase the game for a low amount so they don’t have to suffer through any ads?

Crozzle is a really enjoyable and clever word puzzle game, but there are two big issues that take away from the experience:
No sync across devices - I play on both my iPhone and iPad, but my progress doesn’t carry over. It would be great if the developers added support for iCloud, Game Center, or account login so players could continue seamlessly across devices.
Excessive ads - The number of ads is overwhelming and interrupts the flow of the game. I understand ads are needed, but they pop up so frequently that it makes it hard to stay engaged.
If these issues were addressed, this would easily be a 5-star game. I hope the developers consider making these improvements!

Misleading and confusing
Saw an ad for this game on another game I was playing. Wasn’t the game shown in the ad, clues don’t make sense, too many ads, and pretty sure it’s mostly bots.
