Annoying
The price keeps increasing and they keep logging me out of the account on my devices
Swag Nag
Why would I have to purchase a $60 swag Bag if I have the ultimate fan pass WHICH I’M paying. That should exempt us for paying for the annual swag Bag, Also I am missing 2 years worth of swag Bags already. When did Crunchyroll go down hill ?
Scammed
Simply put, they have a nasty habit of ending premium content on subscriptions as this is the second time they have done it and refused to acknowledge guilt or refund it or anything, example, I bought a yearly subscription and it stopped working early April, contacted support, was taken to an AI that just said there is nothing they can do, but I can refute the claim with the credit card company.

Garbage company that forgets where they came from, show some respect.
“Download Using Cellular” on by default
I downloaded an entire season of an anime.
While I was doing this, I noticed “5G” in the top right of my iPad - I guess the 5-10 simultaneous downloads caused the WiFi connection to reset.
The Crunchyroll app kept downloading over 5G, and now I have $160 in overage charges because it downloaded 11 GB of my 3 GB plan, and 5G is _very_ fast.
I’d also note that 5-10 simultaneous downloads is ridiculously high for 500-megabyte files (where TCP Slow Start barely matters). I can saturate my 100 Mbit connection with only two simultaneous downloads.

App is broken
Not sure what happened with this latest update, but the app is completely nonfunctional over WiFi now. Every time I open the app it just says “We’re having trouble connecting!”. Every other app and streaming service on my phone functions properly over WiFi except for Crunchyroll. Disappointing.
Can’t register

I can go into the website and use the app on other devices but it draws the line at my phone which is currently my only option. And specifically when I’m connected to WiFi does ONLY this app not work.

Cada mes voy a estar escribiendo aquí la incompetencia por parte de ustedes con la app.
Van 5 meses que NO PUEDO USAR LA APP me mandan a que hable con un asesor y después “escalan mi problema con los técnicos” y ahí termina. No me han contactado por correo, mensaje ni nada. Estoy pagando por un servicio que no puedo usar (lastimosamente lo pagué por un año) y aquí estoy con el problema que al parecer nadie puede solucionar. Me tienen harta 🙂

I hate Crunchyroll soo much u guys don’t have all anime it’s yall say its dubbed but its not eng dub then yall dont have the anime we want to watch available yall just pushing trashy content on us trying make us buy products and pay for a subscription this is a trashy company and yall keep recommending the same shows I already watched
App for TVs is horrific
I absolutely despise the Crunchyroll app for TVs. It is the singular worst app I have ever had to deal with, it is straight GARBAGE. It infuriates me how horrible this pos is. I hate Crunchyroll and I hate whoever designed the app

Took away my premium membership
I purchased a premium membership yesterday and when I went to watch some anime today it said to upgrade to a premium membership when I already had one and I tried getting in contact with customer support but it didn’t give me anything helpful I don’t recommend spending money on a membership when they will just scam you and take your money

Worst app Ever
I was scrolling on YouTube and I find out one of my favorite anime ditched Netflix and went to here apparently you have to subscribe and become premium just to watch it like I have two more seasons on that and I can’t get to them because you need to be premium and subscribe to it it’s useless and took to much of my time I didn’t have to do this for Netflix still it didn’t even send me the code even though everything looks good I don’t recommend this like at this point just bring Disney back I my tv can’t even do this. This is useless and I hope they could delete the app or edit it so it doesn’t cost 9 dollars a month even if you don’t use it WOST APP EVER please don’t get this app it just try’s to take your money but just add all of the unfinished anime that they have control of and just give it to Netflix and Disney this app is useless I would feel ashamed for taking people’s money because you’re forcing them to or they can’t watch there unfinished anime’s just at least be like Netflix and not take there money or make them become premium and make them subscribe I would be ashamed and if they do delete this other people will see it before them and team with me cause it’s just the truth and I’ll just make another one over and over and over until you let it be so people could see the truth and how do they have 4.8 stars this is rigged and how it doesn’t even work I wish I can give it one star absolutely humiliating nothing but begging for money I would be ashamed honestly where were you coming from i’d rather have school and work not wasting my money on a useless app that Netflix would do for free no money and Netflix just needs to be on the game honestly this is the WORSE APP EVER
Failure of Service
App is okay, but has a lot of issues. The customer service is pretty dismissive and not helpful. Also the follow up I received was not helpful either, just a “We’ll look into it.” So I’m downgrading this to a one star.
Updating my review again. I’d go negative if I could with the review. Don’t watched the Sabody archipeloigo arc for One Piece. Most of the season’s audio is off. If you ask for help, you just get AI chatbot answers even when you’re supposedly talking to “a person”. No action. No solutions. “Just try to restart the app. Oh we can’t enter tickets”. I’ve tried all solutions. This is a technical issue with the episodes on Crunchyroll’s end! Fix it please and hire real people to work customer service.

Everything’s premium now?
It could be that I’m just new to Crunchyroll and please excuse my improper grammar but anytime I try to watch demon slayer or dragon ball Z I click on the first episode and it sends me to a place that says premium to watch like bruh I’m trying this with every thing but I still need premium and it’s literally the first episodes am so confused (btw I put five stars so yall can see)

Account isn’t active
I have renewed my subscription and my account isn’t activated yet and it’s been a week since i renewed it.
Worst app to watch anime ever!
Even if you don’t mind abs you can’t watch half a season without having to pay a subscription and after getting a subscription that cost less a month later it made me get the more expensive subscription or I couldn’t watch my anime at all and it did again, sure the more you pay the more features you get but I don’t want more features I just want to watch my anime I didn’t ask for it it’s stupid this whole app is stupid, please do not waste your money on them just for anime they don’t deserve your money. Content and organization
Love the selection but what happened to ecchi or seinen like some raunchy adult anime’s like not quite hentai but it had its own lil sub category now the catalog is idk limited, another thing cmon why are the most popular anime like Naruto only in sub we need the dubs
Accessibility flaws
Love all my anime in just one place. However the app has a fatal flaw when I try to watch an English dubbed show with closed captions the onscreen translations of the Japanese text just disappear. The app doesn’t have this issue on an Amazon firestick so I don’t understand why it has this problem here. The Funimation app never had this problem.
Glitchy quite often
Of all my apps or streaming services this one is the most problematic. I have the same issue on my TV. Love the shows but the app in my opinion is only a 2 star.

Ever since buying Funimation this app is awful. Slow loading, the dubs that were available on funimation are STILL not uploaded and it’s been years since buying it. Awful and money hungry fuks
