I understand in-app purchases. I get the work that goes into developing an app like this. I would charge for it as well.
But someone made the moronic decision to wait until you record your first meeting, then lock your meeting summary behind a paywall. Not a one-time trial use, THEN make you pay. No, record your meeting, then lock your summary.
Here is why that is a monumentally stupid decision, and whoever made it should be fired:
1. I don’t get to actually trial your app. I don’t get to see how accurate it is, how efficiently the summary is designed, or any features beyond recording. Any dumb app can record. That’s been a basic phone function for 20 years. The only reason I can fathom for locking the very first use summary away, IS IF YOUR AI SUMMARY ABILITY SUCKS AND YOU WANT TO MAKE A CASH GRAB BEFORE PEOPLE FIND OUT.
2. It infuriates your potential customer BEFORE THEY EVEN USE YOUR APP. The app absolutely does not make it clear that you do not get even one single full use without paying. DO NOT GET
1st of all, I got this app in hope it’ll help make my life less stressful. It brought me NOTHING but more stress. I spent last hour trying to open the app. Every time I click on it, it automatically closes out and brings me back to iPhone’s home Screen. I tried deleting it and reinstalling, and it does the SAME exact thing. Tried restarting my iPhone, cleaning out my memory & then trying it - same exact thing happens. If you are a busy professional who needs less chaos in their life, DO NOT EVEN DOWNLOAD THIS APP. If the creators of it can’t make sure the very basics of the app work, do you truly believe that more complex features of it WILL? There are 4 other AI note taking apps I found, choose ANY other but this one.
Fraudulent app
App doesn’t work as described. The free trial is a BS there’s no free trial, the app charged my card when I signed to 3 days free trial and the charged my card immediately. I canceled the supposed free trial on the app and they still trying to charge me after cancellation. There’s no customer service. Support chat ended with without any other option to continue.
Basically a pay wall
I tried this app for helping me translate audios for a language I’m learning. I don’t know if this is how others feel, but my experience was that I couldn’t access any notes or transcript until I signed up for the free trial service and eventually paid. Giving it a one star because of this!
I’m going to lose my job
Terrible app, I’ve been trying to retrieve my summary and it keeps buffering. I’m going to lose my job if I can’t retrieve this summary the meeting was Thursday and today is Friday and it still hasn’t giving me the summary what can I do I put all my eggs in this basket literally
Terrible experience doesn’t work
I had to pay for the 1yr premium ($99) immediately (it comes with 3 day trial). Didn’t work. Keeps showing error. Can’t even cancel the membership. The only option I’m getting is signing out. But no canceling options
Stuck in summarizing mode 😭🤯
I fell in love with this app and was relying on it to help me through and incredibly busy period at work. Started to use it and all of a sudden it’s stuck in summarizing mode and can’t “hear” any other conversations. Just after I paid for a year in full and had trusted the app to help me. My head hurts just thinking of how foolish I felt relying on an AI tool to help me stay on track. If this can be fixed I’d be overjoyed.
DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME
This is the most useless and inaccurate AI note taking summary I’ve ever seen. On top of that, Cue will not let you cancel your free trial or subscription and disputes must be resolved with Apple Pay or Google Pay. I’m filing a complaint with my state attorney general and suing Cue in small claims court.

Issues with cancellation
Tried cancelling app and its impossible.
Sucks
Dont waste time or money this app does not work as described. It’s also super expensive for the premium and for what? Do not recommend.
No free trails
It says 3 days free but from the first use it locked and forced to paid first to show the text
Won’t let me refund my purchase
Trialed with the three days, got charged 99.99 immediately and tried to contact via email then was told I couldn’t do anything about it even though the refunds said I could receive one if I used less than 6 times, I only used it twice and had it for four days. The email on their website was wrong and had to speak to an AI agent to see their correct email.

This is the worst subscription experience I’ve ever had.
It’s impossible to find where to cancel - not in the app, not in the settings. Everything is confusing and lacks transparency.
Contacting support is another challenge - there is no clear or easy way to reach them.
It honestly feels like this is done on purpose so users can’t cancel and continue being charged.

Only wants you to get Cue+
It didn’t mention needing a paid version to do the simplest thing. I needed to do a transcript of a recording for school and the microphone on my Chromebook doesn’t work. This meant that I couldnt use voice type. I let it record my audio for 30 minutes. It Finished, and loaded. It showed me a summary and I paused for a second. It then immediately locked me out of the transcript, telling me to get cue +. I don’t know what I’m gonna do now.
Why can’t I copy transcripts?
I was able to copy transcripts directly and now you have replaced that copy option with some share link which add two steps . Why ? We pay for the subscription And we get this back ?do better .

I canceled my subscription before the trial was over and they still charged me. When I asked them to cancel my account, they said it will take 30 days and they are not responsable for any upcoming charges.

I bought this a couple of months ago, was good at the beginning but now it shows me a lot of error when I open it, also I used it in a very important meeting and it said it was recording at the end says processing the audio and it did not process anything and just like that I made the ridiculous in from of my coworkers. Don’t buy this.!

Does not work - and they will not refund.
I downloaded the Cue app and it did not work at all - pressing “record” did nothing. Restarted, etc. nothing. I requested a refund right away (within the hour) and was denied. I also had signed up for the monthly plan, but they immediately charged me $99.99 for the full annual subscription instead. I never got to use the app since it completely failed to function, and the company refused to resolve the issue. Do NOT buy this app. Total waste of money.
Update- Cue responded that Apple makes the decision on refunds - which is NOT what Apple said. They said they reached out to the developer (Cur) and no refund would be issued and that the matter would not be reopened.

Expensive and low quality
At $7.99 a week, I expect to be able to at the very least open the transcript for a meeting that happened today. Or the meeting that happened yesterday. However, I am only having to download the transcripts as a PDF and have another AI platform actually create meeting notes for me. This is not worth the cost and is a hassle to use. The app does a good job at transcribing notes, but actually making them functional is where the problem is. Would not recommend - I actually want a refund for the last three weeks.

Takes forever to summarize. App is still summarizing a recording from a week ago.
No way to test it out
No way to see if the summaries are worth it without have to do the pro version. Would be nice to have a couple free summaries to try it out.

Setup for this feature is not well outlined and only able to record outgoing. Not able to record incoming and no troubleshooting.
In app assistant only allows preset prompts. Very specific and not very helpful. No option to enter your issue if not available for preset prompts.
