You cant filter people that are in your area, I don’t want to see people that live on the other side of the country because realistically I’m not famous and rich and going to fly to visit someone to date them. Also, you can only talk to, now, three people at a time… I wouldn’t know because I haven’t came across someone in my area who I’m interested in. Since I paid for this stupid app I’m using it just to X everyone who comes up on my once in a blue moon batches. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME! STICK TO THE BASICS!

I downloaded Cuffed because it advertised itself as being focused on local connections and serious relationships. After signing up, I realized almost nobody shown was actually local, and the app barely has any filters besides age and gender. There’s no real way to narrow down values, intentions, distance, lifestyle, or compatibility.
I specifically selected that I was looking for a long-term relationship/life partner, but the majority of profiles and interactions felt hookup-focused. The app marketing does not match the actual experience. It feels very underdeveloped for people genuinely trying to date intentionally instead of casually.
Definitely disappointing and not what was advertised, especially after seeing all the hype and getting accepted.

Not Very Many Profiles
I live in the San Francisco area so a fairly populated place, but the number of profiles of locals is sparse. Most profiles I’m being shown are out of state as far as Florida-not just Oregon or Nevada. Seems to be a waste of $13.49.
More dating giftware
The premise is nice enough but for $30, you’d think you could fine-tune your dating pool. Sorry, I don’t want to match with someone across the country from me who has nothing in common. Out of the 30 potential matches they show you in a batch, maybe 3 are local. That is *terrible*. They don’t tell you any of this either before you pay so I will be disputing this charge if they don’t work with me in getting a refund.

You can’t do anything unless you pay for a membership. Crazy that should be explained. Now I can’t even delete the account without paying too. Money hungry developers.

Pay wall + no location filter
Waited to be approved for about 2 weeks, got approved, immediately forced to pay subscription for 3 months. Only to find out there’s no location filter so my likes and home page options are all out of state. Honestly such a scam
WTH is this?
Takes two weeks to get approved, then there’s no free version… So be prepared to pay. And then on top of that, be prepared to travel because there’s like a 99% chance no one lives near you!
And good luck with Customer Service, I don’t think it actually exists.

Distance is an issue
Long distance relationship never work out.
No location filter and “free trial” wasn’t free
It said it would give me a 3 day free trial before charging my card and I could cancel 1 day before it ends to not get charged. Only to be charged right away. Also you can’t filter location so how am I going to date people thousands of miles away?
Scam
Terrible, finally got “approved” and my first potential matches were all in New York. I live in Southern California. Couldn’t change or filter anything without paying for a subscription. Absolute scam, read the positive reviews…seem like bots. Careful out there boys everyone wants your money.
Cool idea but no one close
Have seen probably 2 people within 500 miles of me. Would be awesome if I wasn’t getting shown only people from the other side of the country

Can’t set distance. So I’m living in Boston getting profiles in California and Colorado. Otherwise it’s a great idea if I could see people near me.
Deceiving
Beware! One: this app isn’t free. They don’t tell you that as you build your profile and submit all your information as you wait for it to be approved. Once you are, you can’t do anything until you pay a subscription. Two: you can’t filter by location so you’re seeing profiles from the whole nation! It’s hilarious because they offer to send you a bottle of wine for your first date. Good luck with that when the profiles you see are from across the nation. I reached out to customer service about this and got no response.

Fine the region apears. Has the wrong area code because the place has two. Blocked my phone to make an account because is marked as suspicious. Other ways of login? NONE

My application has been under review for several months, which is fine, but at this point I would like to delete my profile and there is no option to do that. I have tried contacting Cuffed through Facebook messenger, Instagram, and email and have not gotten a response on any platform. How do I access and delete my own data?!

My profile has been in review for almost half a year. My guess is that they simply sell your information to companies.
Pretty bad imo
The marketing and mission is so good I was hoping to really like this app. But the lack of features you can see or set sucks. I feel like I should be able to see how tall someone is at the very least… and you can’t set any filers for things like religion (which is a deal breaker for me). On top of this you get what feels like 5 x’s a day so if you log on a bad day and find none of them to be your type, you use the app for about 15 seconds a day. && you have to pay for it &&& wait like a whole day before being able to swipe again.
Again I get some of this might be there thing of trying to be different but tbh spend your money on a bigger dating app where there’s more options / variety / settings

Untruthful advertising
Thought this would be really nice, signed up, gave my personal information over, only to be told this is only in NYC! I do not live in NYC and I do not want these people to have my data unless they are going to do their job. I think it is ridiculous that they do not inform you anywhere until after you have created and uploaded your photos and personal info.

No Flavor
The idea is great, but when I tell you there’s no seasoning I mean it. There’s a real lack of diversity on the app, making it much less appealing for me. and unfortunately you have to buy it quarterly or biannually so you cant really get out of it.
Good concept
I was required to buy a minimum 3 month subscription before being able to check out the app which is crazy in my opinion. After I bought it, they then offered a 1 month option going forward. Would’ve really liked that option before realizing the app isn’t very good.

App doesn't have an option to withdraw a pending application, and no clear data deletion request is available.
Hypergamy the app
If hypergamy is a constant issue in the dating world amongst men, well this app takes it to another level. People are mostly hyper focused on finding the top 1% of good looking people on this app. So for women they are most likely looking for Caucasian, decent shape, and above 6’. In fact would love to see the stats arguing against it, but that has been my experience. Granted on Hinge, it’s the opposite experience. There, I get plenty of matches. I even believe Raya is a better app than cuffed because you find creative people. Granted if you are above 6’, good looking(you need to be 6’), then have fun with this! For anyone else, do not even bother
Filters?
I just paid for the 3 month membership to be shown ppl completely outside my filters. I am liberal and I don’t want kids. Almost EVERY man I’m shown wants kids. Why did I pay for this? I’d like a refund if you aren’t going to actually show me my preferences. How can this app claim to be for serious dating when they are matching ppl who want fundamentally different things?
Chats ended by the App abruptly
I matched with several people and noticed a recurring issue. After just 2-3 messages, the app abruptly ends the chat, even though it shows there are still a few days left before the conversation deadline. This disrupts the flow of communication and makes it difficult to build any real connection. The concept of the app is interesting, but this feature definitely needs improvement.
Application Stuck with Referrals
I have 6 referrals in the NYC area and still have not been approved in well over a month. I cannot delete my application and am just stuck waiting

The concept of having to be accepted is shocking for there then to be a paywall before usage. Total scam. The promos and layout exactly mirror other disappointing apps like Hinge
