They based it off twitch a long time ago and never moved off it at the core. It never works. It’s 2026
Can’t even login
Can’t get past with the correct username and password as it doesn’t load the next screen. Their support recommended reinstalling which corrects nothing. Online searches review 5 years of similar unanswered solutions. Support says higher than normal number of comments so delayed responses, but I’d doubt if it was ever sufficient. Synopsis, don’t bother with mobile version as you will get neither functionality, support, or enjoyment out of its use.
New code broken
Can’t look up base class or filter out non WotC books or books I don’t know own.
Stop messing with it
Why are you guys continuously making this application that is very useful, less and less desirable. I should be able to simply click damage rolls and ALL damage from the dice should be rolled, both base weapon damage and additional elemental damage, rolled at ONCE, with ONE CLICK.

Please, someone get your ceo and make him watch a breakdown video on the fall of every major industry. Film their reaction. The remaining WOTC fans need to know wether they are beyond held at this point.

Subscription to then allow you to spend much more before you can simply have record of a character.

Login System
It’s wild in 2026 we aren’t punishing companies for poorly optimizing its login process. I hate when I get signed out of this app because the in-app window used to sign in consistently makes me want to flip a desk.

Too expensive
Everything is locked behind a pay wall if I want a sub class a feat a background. It’s 100 bucks. Seriously dumb.
THIS APP SCAMS YOU
I bought a campaign for $15, almost a week later and it still hasn’t given me my purchase but it charged my bank account. I contacted support and they just said they can’t help me. Nothing shows up in my purchase history for the app or the App Store but I got charged. I have a friend who bought a campaign on the website and he didn’t have any problems so maybe that’s the better option. Still unfair that I can’t get refunded

New update is awful for iPad
This is unusable on iPad now. For the dumbest reasons D&D beyond decided to make character sheets / editing of characters pop up in the smallest box possible. Can’t see drop downs and can’t scroll through the character sheets. I’d reach out to your support team for feedback or help, but they gave me the worst experience in customer service I’ve ever seen about a year back. So I’m not going to waste the time on a trash company / team. Can’t wait for my D&D group to finally evolve “Beyond” the trash service that is this company.
Locked me out...
Signed me out and locked m out with a social security no. Worked well while it lasted, but not worth the permanent lock risk.
Asked me to submit an email address with latest update
Insinuated that I was a child and didn’t let me go back from this prompt. I have deleted and if my reinstall doesn’t work, will delete app and my DM level subscription. Your logins should just work after an update. This is literally like a child or dare I say an AI did the coding for something this sloppy and uninteractive. I cannot encourage anyone install this app or pay its exorbitant subscription if it can’t handle maintaining your account on iOS with a simple app update.
Unexpectedly logged out
Logged me out, and now i cannot log back in. I tried all my emails but they are requiring me to verify myself with some parental stuff.

I used to use this app a lot for playing D&D with my family, I uninstalled it a while ago and reinstalled it yesterday so I can look at my character sheets but I can’t get into my account without going through what is basically a child lock and there doesn’t seem to be a way for me to say that I am not a child. I will not go through a whole child account creating process when I am not a child and I just want to go though my previous character sheets for a new campaign.
Needs a LOT of work
It’s absolutely stupid that I’m required to download my books to be able to read them through the app, but I cannot access them while offline. Fix this.

Hi Developers!
I joined a campaign and have shared content. I have used it before to make a Tabaxi and it won’t let me finish. It also refuses to let me home brew a character which is annoying, and it won’t let me do any species other than the legacies and their remakes. This is very annoying.
Stability and tablet functionality need work!
VTT crashes all the time, if I use the fog of war tool I have to reload to get pa n and zoom back. Really basic functionality issues that should be fixed. Initiative next button cut off at the border, unable to zoom out to see. Issue persists across all browsers. Also, why can’t the app run vtt? I know you can do better than this.
Good app horrible customer service
The app itself is great. Helps to keep track of everything and as a reference guide very helpful. So yea I do like the app. However the customer service or help service is horrendous! Recently they added an age verification to it. After having some trouble with it I contacted customer service in hopes of getting it resolved. Unfortunately they were no help at all. In fact they had me restate the problem, multiple times and I even sent pictures to illustrate it and they still couldn’t comprehend it. So beware of that. I would have rated it 5 stars but the customer service experience has soured me completely to it.
Roll 20 is better
This game used to work but now it requires unfair sign up terms.

D&D Beyond has been an amazing tool as a DM, and I could not recommend it higher for someone who loves running a variety of D&Ds monsters.
The ‘listings’ option was especially useful for this, but has stopped working entirely for Legacy, or 5e 2014 content, with all attempts resulting in a ‘We couldn’t load data for this item’ error message. It’s gravely disappointing to see that Wizards of the Coast seems to no longer be supporting paid for Legacy content in tools like ‘listings’, and I very much hope this is a bug rather than an intended experience.
