this service decided its not going to serve any customers that use a vpn. they are consumer terrorists trying to sell your private data to consumer agencies. they are bullies and the email support is a robot that always replies to rephrase your question & nothing ever happens except lots more bullying. they are so full of hatred. no gays allowed. no blacks. no latinos either! no females either. just white straight men!
Can’t even listen to full songs
I got tired of Spotify so I downloaded deezer only to see that half the songs need premium to listen to the full thing atp apple music would be better at least Spotify lets you listen to full versions

I downloaded this as an alternative to Spotify, how in the world did it turn out to be worse. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not all bad, the layout’s nice and it has potential. However, it’s only useable if you have premium. Like Spotify, there is limited skips, but unlike Spotify, you can’t even choose what song you want to play, just a preview of 30 seconds. Worst part? When you go to play your playlist, it adds random songs in the mix, ones not even on it. That combined with not being able to skip makes the app miserable for those who don’t pay.
Track Mix slop queue
There is so much wrong with this app that makes it virtually unusable. The dealbreaker for me was the track mix queue that automatically generated every time I played a song I liked. Each time I would try to add a song to my queue, I would end up finding out that it got placed at the bottom of the track mix. Users have apparently been complaining about this issue for years, and Deezer has ignored them. As long as this continues to be the case, I will not be using Deezer at all!
Works Fine As Long As You’re A Paid Member
I recently started using Deezer to get away from Spotify. I was even offered a free three-month trial. All worked really well. Then everything changed once the trial ended. I was shocked to discover that I could no longer see or edit songs I added to playlists. I could also no longer listen to a wide array of tracks - including a new album from a friend of mine. In fact, Deezer returned a playback error in this case, which made me thing it was a technical issue with the app.
I contacted customer service and was given the runaround while also confirming the playback issue was due to me not being a paid member. On what planet is that acceptable? I will never use Deezer again.

frustrating
i canceled my subscription on december 29, 2025 because i wasnt going to be able to afford another month at the moment. planned on resubscribing at the end of january or beginning of february. ended up being charged anyway on january 8th 2026. i emailed support the same day and politely asked to be refunded as i had already cancelled my plan. im still going back and forth with support to this day, the 16th because they keep telling me “we see you have a one month subscription!” YEAH I SHOULDNT. I CANCELLED THE FRICKEN THING. i have provided screenshots TWICE of being charged on the 8th despite me canceling. the most recent time i submitted them, i was told “we need separate charges/invoices to show the double charge” ????? i never said i was fking double charged. i said i canceled my subscription on DECEMEBER 28 2025 and then was charged for another month on JANUARY 8 2026. i have changed my mind about returning to this platform. i enjoyed it a lot. i loved that i could customize the display of it as well. but after this interaction, im not returning.

Pins is bad
New Pins feature mucks up the home page and you can’t opt out. Very poor UX decision making

It only lets you drop ten items in the Library even if you don’t mind ads. Not much to listen to.

apparently deezers way of getting you to buy premium is by annoying you to death. none of the “100%” radios had more than 3 songs of that artist and whats worse is the recommendations you get if youre a free user are people youve never heard of that dont even fit the genre. oh well im going to tidal ✌🏼
Beware. Do Your Research…
It’s hard finding an ethical platform to stream music. I had high hopes for Deezer after hearing the recent news of Spotify CEO investing in technology built to destroy. Just search who the owner of Deezer is and his attention on worldly matters. I’m glad Deezer pays their artists a little better compared to Spotify, but when it comes to who their supporters are and who profits, I’d rather invest in creation, art and advancement. Do better!
Kinda pointless
What's the point of making a playlist, if the app doesn't play songs from the playlist? This is such an easy layup, dev team, but you made it a self goal.
not good substitute for spotify
i was looking to replace spotify after news of them running ice ads, from browsing reviews ive seen someone say that a shareholder of deezer is involved w unethical things. and my personal experience wasnt great, i dont want to pay $20 to be able to listen to my own playlist. i understsnd for no ads but to listen to what i want is insane.

another unethical music app
was looking for an alternative for spotify. tried qobuz for a month but got sick of how slow and glitchy it was and decided to look for a new app. had this for a couple days then found out it’s biggest shareholder is involved in all sorts of unethical things. very disappointed.
Zero stars
What a junk show. I tried the app, and deleted it after about five minutes. It shares way too much information with Apple. I feel like I just fell for some phishing scam.

Not free at all
I just transferred my already made playlists to this app from Spotify. I go to play one of the playlists and it plays a song that is not even on there. At the top it says that it is an inspired mix for the playlist and not the playlist itself. I tried to play the actual songs and it just kept doing the mix or pulling up the premium page. Do not try this app if you want to listen to music for free.
No kids mode unless you buy family plan.
It’s just me and a toddler. One device. One account. 90% of listening is me. But on the weekends I’d like to turn on a kids mode for kid friendly listening. I’m not paying for 6 logins just to have 1 rarely used kids mode. Also the interface is a bit confusing.
beats around the bush when you try to delete
Sent me 3 different codes to verify it was me deleting the codes, but i didn’t get any of the codes in my email. I try again the same thing so i try to change the email and i can’t because i’ve requested to many codes… yet i received zero
Downloaded music not actually offline
I want to like Deezer because I can’t stand Spotify, but the one function that I really look for in music apps is the ability to download for offline use because I don’t have unlimited data. However, it seems that even if I waste space on my phone downloading the music for offline use (in & out of offline mode), if I don’t have service, they simply will not load. This is so utterly frustrating that I’m reconsidering my subscription. If this were fixed, I’d happily even pay more. But it seems like after googling, it’s an ongoing issue that hasn’t been fixed.

So I am once again asking for the ability to listen to one music artists music while offline without creating an entire separate playlist with only that artists music on it. At the moment all you can do is add an artists music to your “Favorite Tracks” and sort favorite tracks by artist when offline. But that means you either listen to that artists music in that order every time you’re offline or you hit shuffle and get all the rest of your favorite tracks shuffled in. PLEASE let me listen to downloaded music BY ARTIST.

I was recommended to the app by someone on social media, claimed they had switched from sp*tify, and that they had ZERO regrets. I find that extra hard to believe, cause the app doesn't even play music that's within your playlist. Forget subscribing to premium like how they shoved in my face the moment i opened the app, why would i pay for or even use a music app that cant fulfill it's baseline purpose😭💀
Not cooperative
I’m trying to switch from sptfy as well, but it seems like I run into a roadblock whenever I try to do anything. Tried to search for music, got a “technical issue” message. Tried to pick something out from my liked artists, my list is cleared and it’s making me pick out my favorite artists again. When I try to do that and pick more artists I have been wanting to listen to, I get a domain error that will not let the action go through so I am forced to “skip” the option. The app is clunky and irritating to use and I need something that is just click and go for my favorite artists again.
Deleting account Process
I don’t know the to much about the app itself or event the content. This review is based on how difficult it was to delete my Deezer account. I went through a big rabbit hole to figure out how to delete my account through their website. I did not get a solution, instead I had to download the app only to be able to delete my account.

The app has potential considering no ai is allowed but the fact I need to pay you to listen to a song I want when I can just go back to Spotify and listen to the same song for free and at worst listen to an add. There isn’t an initiative to stay with you.
Immediately deleted
Feels like a photocopy of Spotify the minute I tried playing a song I wanted it told me to get premium I was upset but ok that’s fine I’ll just keep skipping until I get it. Nope not only you play songs not on my playlist you limit how much skips I get!?

I want to love this app
It’s a pretty good replacement for Spotify but I wish Apple CarPlay/android auto worked better with this app to allow me to navigate and scroll through playlists/songs. Speak to play in car does not work. Algorithm will not exclude songs even if you exclude them for example you’re playing kids music that you have excluded because you don’t want to listen to it when your child isn’t around
No Playlist Folders
I’m looking to move off Spotify and I have my playlists meticulously organized by folder. The fact that Deezer doesn’t allow playlist folders is mind boggling. There’s absolutely no way this isn’t something users have been asking for since the inception of Deezer.
Plays random songs
Recently tried to make the switch from sp*tify but within two minutes it played five songs that are not on my playlist. Really? I have to pay a 13 dollar monthly subscription just to choose what songs I listen to? Would be fine if it was a once-in-a-while thing considering how cute and manageable the app is but I skipped each random song it played and each time it played a different song that was not on my playlist. For reference the playlist had about 90 songs on it. Not a single one of those songs was played within five skips. Unfortunately had to delete the app when this happened. I was looking forward to it, as every other feature looked nice.
It’s not the best
I like that it has a lesser ads than Spotify (like 1 every 5 songs unless you’re constantly changing them) and they have a lot of songs to choose from but if you make a playlist it plays almost none of the songs you picked and just plays really bad substitutions. Honestly Flow plays more songs that you favorite and put in playlists than your own playlists do.
