Already in perfect health? This app is for YOU!
Asked app support where to find nutrition info for each recipe? They responded with a long diatribe about “calorie counting” (which i never asked about) + they don’t include info on nutrition info to “protect” people who might be triggered by it (a bit odd, since every package in a grocery store has a nutrition label…)
Sadly, this philosophy turns a blind eye to folks who actually need nutrition info for medical reasons (eg, my husband is newly diagnosed with diabetes and high cholesterol = we need precise info on fat, sugar, etc). Withholding nutritional information **disempowers users from making choices critical to their unique health challenges**, and thwarts attempts by users to (irony alert) “feel better.” Treat your users like adults, please!

Charged my account without 7 day trial
I signed up for the first time today and it stated I would get a 7 day trial for either plan. BUT it charged me the 35 dollars right off the back and there’s no way to cancel for a refund! False advertising and will request my money back!
Trial period? charged for whole year
Signed up for the yearly plan with free 7 day trial, but I’m pretty sure I just got charged for the whole year without the free trial. I will update my review depending on how this works out.
almost perfect
Needs a few filters added. I want to be able to filter out which ingredients I don’t want to see.
Like things with no dairy
No wheats or grains
And then have the app show me only things that fit within the specific criteria.

Cannot open the meal plan
I have the all access version of the app on the USA and Apple version and cannot open the meal plan. I can see the new recipes but want to see the weekly plan again.
Kinda disappointed in the roll out of the meal plan. I emailed customer service and it says it will take 5 business days to get back to me which is unacceptable.

Eh
No nutritional facts with recipes or serving sizes
Accessible only for white middle-upper class
Y’all claim accessibility is important to you guys, yet this isn’t a free app? I’ve been a follower of deliciously ella for 5 years now. I’ve seen the followers increase, meaning big money being made, on top of the fact y’all were well off to start with. I was so excited about the app until I realized y’all are just another money maker. All of your guests are white, too. Very disappointed and frankly disgusted by this brand
Measurements
Oz measurement is so difficult to read - everyone measures with cups
Subscription
Once subscribed, it’s not easy to unsubscribe
Not free
It says “in app purchases” and the app is free, however, use of the app requires a subscription. You will learn this AFTER creating an account. Sick and tired of these marketing ploys and waste of my time.
Eating for health
Learning to incorporate more veggies to my diet is made easy with the recipes on the app. Love the podcast, especially the nutritional content.
Behind a pay wall
It’s not a free app even though it’s free to download. Everything is behind a pay wall, there isn’t even a free version. So annoying to download a free app just to learn it’s not actually free.
Wonky app
Love the idea of vegan recipes but I’m sad that some other features have been added to the app (e.g. workouts, that I don’t use as I already have a subscription for a different website that I adore), making it significantly more expensive. I tried some of the yoga classes and I wasn’t a fan and I detest the fact that there’s a random thumbnail for each video and I found that that particular asana is never actually part of the practice. As for the recipes, when I click on show all it only shows about 20 and then it stops and there’s no more. The app and especially the website is quite slow. Another thing I hate is when I start cooking a recipe and go to the ingredients list, then don’t look at my phone for some time and when I go back, the app jumps back to all recipes and I have to look up the one I’m cooking over and over again. Overall it’s also very easy to click somewhere or swipe accidentally so I’m not where I want to be, needing a few more clicks to go back where I was before. Some recipes are great, others turn out to be a disaster. I like Ella a lot and what they stand up for as a team but I must say that overall I’m not impressed, especially considering the price.
Recipes are lacking
Let me start by saying we’ve purchased a subscription. We’ve made about 13 recipes from this app now and of those only one or two were easy to follow . The recipes were the whole reason we purchased a subscription in the first place. However they are not clear enough to replicate the dish accurately. Sometime ingredients list doesn’t agree with the steps, it’s missing ingredients or changes the type of ingredient.
Overall my wife and I are pretty dissatisfied, and would prefer a refund. I definitely will not continue the with the subscription.

Needs to stick with recipes
I loved this app when it just had recipes but their expansion into a full service wellness app added zero value. Other apps do exercise, sleep and mindfulness better, and have better navigation tools. I want the old Deliciously Ella app back along with the old price.
No substance behind the ascetics
I’m quite disappointed with the app. There is no real substance behind it. Improvements could be made to
1) recipes - building out the “method” a little more so users understand what their meal should look like at each step. One way to do this would be to add videos or pictures. And jsit adding a bit more personality behind the instructions. After all you are capitalising on the Ella brand; however their is no character here. There are many FREE blogs with recipes that provide more thoughtful recipes than this. I would suggest you all check out Alison Roman, NYT Cooking, Smitten Kitchen, and holy cow vegan
2) introduce a community aspect - there are no options for users to comment on recipes, workouts, etc. What if my child is allergic to aubergine and I would like to substitute it with another ingredient. Being able to search comments for other users who had similar issues, would be so helpful
3) Ux - a bit disappointing that this mimics Apple Watch..I will use my Apple Watch instead since there’s more functionality there
Great ideas on the app but I do hope there are many improvements to come, especially given the pricing.
