worst customer service.
its been almost two days since i purchased a package on the VIP store. i emailed and it says it cannot be delivered. i wait on the chat and the only option is self service which is basically NOTHiNG. i dont like that you have to keep purchasing the same item to use it. plus some items are diamonds only which are hard to get so you have to buy them. the game its self is fun its the lack of response. no customer service.

Update: Well I came here to review, completely forgetting about the previous one from years(?) ago. I believe they eventually resolved that issue once l posted, or maybe I stupidly let it go? Ironically (or maybe ignorantly), I’m back for nearly the same reason.
Once again, after a measly $5 purchase, 2 weeks later my earned rewards went missing and my profile reflected as if the purchase never happened. I provided multiple receipts from Apple/PayPal/Xsolla. Not to mention- they’re unable/unwilling to provide purchase history. They stated it must have never happened and they don’t refund for duplicate purchases, but they’d “help” contact Xsolla. Yeah, no thanks. Xsolla can’t see anything on design homes end or the missing rewards (because they’re NOT missing in Xsolla ONLY design home) and of course says it’s not their error.
So, after years of loyalty and embarrassingly spending hundreds of $ a month- they’d rather lose that, than resolve a $5 issue. If they realized how many $5 errors I’ve let go over the years, they’d understand why it’s not an overreaction. Read the other reviews- it seems to be quite common. I’m disgusted and disappointed. I guess I’ll be saving my time and money for other things. Good luck Design Home! If this is your service, you’re going to need it.

I’ve been a regular player of this game for over 5yrs. It can be fun and slightly addictive. The other reviews are correct about it being expensive with purchases, and many times glitchy too. Embarrassingly, I do spend quite a bit each week (a lot actually), because I do have medical issues, and this is my limited entertainment. Unfortunately, I didn’t pay enough attention to the lower reviews here regarding loyal customers getting scammed on their purchases.
I made a 2 purchases through their VIP site, was charged, and never received anything. I have receipts from the site, receipts from PayPal, the site stating Design Home developer is responsible, and have been reaching out to “customer service” since it happened. I continue to get a blanket statement of “I’m sorry, we’ll update you as soon as possible” and nothing else. Either upload the purchase, or refund the my money! Not one update, and no explanation. What’s even better- they turnover these collections so quickly to make money, the purchase I made will be expired.
I’ll have no choice but to start a claim, and leave the app. I already have other apps I use, but so much for being a “VIP”. Glad they care more about keeping the amount of 2 purchases instead of keeping a happy customer and the hundreds+ of purchases I make on the app.

ripped off?
i made a purchase of $4.99 for a bundle of diamonds. upon only confirming payment for one purchase, i was charged twice. i would not trust to purchase from this game ever again. and no i did got get double the diamonds
Don’t waste your time
I’ve been playing since the first year, I used to spend real money because I really enjoyed playing. Since the game was acquired by Electronic Arts, it’s gradually went downhill. Prizes are being repeated frequently on challenges, the monthly Design Pass is no longer monthly but the paid portion is still the same price, the requirements for many challenges have gotten so costly that you can’t save up any Design cash is you do too many.
Unauthorized Charges
This game randomly charges me and debit my card for purchases I did not make. Today I played the game but did not make any charges and at 9:40am my account was debited $1.99. I’m glad I caught it because usually I’d see charges in my account and would think I made a purchase that day? And I’d leave alone. I had been suspicious but today, I caught it! Luckily Apple will allow me to get a refund, but watch this app for unauthorized purchases on your accounts please
Great game, but consistent problem not receiving purchased items.
Love this game, but very often when you purchase a pack you don’t receive it. You contact support and they give you the run around or claim you did receive them, when you have screen shots to verify that you did not. This last time, I had to open a claim with Apple to get my money back. I will never go back to this game.

Attempted to dispute with Apple and told not eligible for refund after I’m charged over $50 with nothing to show for it. Unfortunately my favorite game will have to be deleted now
Keeps crashing

This is my second review of the game. I hope the developers read this. I’ve been playing since 2017. I’ve really enjoyed it, but will unfortunately step away. I expect developers to want to earn money and subscribers, but the level of ABSOLUTE BLATANT GREED I’ve noticed is beyond comprehension. The game is relaxing and fun. When I began playing, new groups of decorative items would e relaxed intermittently. Over the last few months, new items are being released WEEKLY , sometimes EVERY FEW days! Seldom are these items released in bundles. Frequently, they are release as VIP items which require REAL MONEY. Even when previously released decor items are released, you can only access them through the VIP portion of the app. Additionally, there is the option to purchase a monthly bonus for $4.99.It WAS monthly, now it’s released more than once a month which of course means more REAL cash… I’m grateful that these changes were made. I was buying two $200 diamond packets a month and completing a minimum of four challenges a day. These changes have snapped me out of my desire to play this game daily.
Lots of glitches and issues with the game
There’s a lot of glitches and issues with the game. And when you try to reach out to someone for help, customer service takes days, or even a week to respond to you. And lots of the time, they don’t even help. The side game, Match, is awful and very glitchy. The levels don’t load and you can’t exit the loading page without restarting the whole game. When you do that, you lose a life. This company needs to hire more engineers or tech folks to fix all the bugs.
Different thoughts
After a month of playing this game, I realized how we are really making this company rich even more. We download all these other game just to win diamonds and some games take a very long time to gain. Some challenges are very high amounts in diamonds for each items. I feel that this is a total ripoff for US AS the individuals that invest money. Below are key points that I have discussed with others.
1. The achievements are not good enough. At least give encouragement to when your challenges are submitted or made it to display votes.
2. Overly expensive and not enough excitement to win diamonds.
3. No relaxing music
4. Not allowing custom colors or to repurchase items.
5. Add more characteristics into designing.
6. Add better items to select. Some items make stages seem very old.
7. Spending toooo much on this game and this does not feel worth it. You all make it so that funds runs out fast to purchase again. I feel that you all take advantage of those that enjoy.
8. Not realistic goals at times.
9. Not enough support to those that support this game.
10. I am over this as it has bored me from spending so much.
Will be uninstalling as I am spending more & not gaining.

Design Home
This game has a lot of issues. You have to buy things all the time or buy diamonds & a lot of them for rugs, etc., to develop a design or each level will have requirements which takes all your money in the game to complete when you’re only making a small amount for it. Making you put more & more money into it. It’s a rip off. If it’s going to have high requirements like 6 - 10,000 for a sofa alone you better make that level more than that! Why are all rugs lots of diamonds? Stupid!
Don’t get unless your ready to spend $$$
While the game is fun and relaxing…. You need money to play and eventually you get to a point where you don’t have money but you in order to get more you either need to spend actual real money or you need to design and that needs requirements which guess what also cost money… not very happy about that bc you run out of money way too fast. Maybe it’s just me? Also gems are kinda the same way except you can watch adds that 90% of the time cant even load!!!! So upset about that. But other than that it’s a fun relaxing game.

It's called Design Home
I don't like all the garden and tablescapes! This is called Design Home! I just want to do rooms! Why does every room have a serving cart? It's bad enough with all the ads you have to watch to get diamonds. Now it's hard to finish rooms without buying furniture.
The game is just the definition of stress!!!
I downloaded this game thinking it’d be calming instead I got a game to send my brain into a hyper fixation of rage a every time I try to submit a design it berates me with the need of keys so I have to do 1 million judging of other designs and then all I come back to is the fact that I don’t have enough diamonds to buy the furniture I got. Plus it forgets everything I bought with my money. Leaving me in debt the only reason I keep this game is only for the hope for seasonal merch.😤 let me tell ya this game would get a lot more players if there was a sandbox mode!🤨
Incompetent Developer
They removed so many people from my “friends” list, including 2 that I know for a fact are still playing because the one is my daughter. They have given me the run around for at least a month and now sent me a message saying “inactive friends won’t be added back” As I said my daughter plays every day so is very active but the incompetent developer can’t figure out how to add her back on my “friends list” when she shouldn’t have been removed at all!

Once completed the challenge glitched I had to redo the challenge I hit the enter challenge button, the challenge glitched again, i recentered challenge it glitched again, I decided to do another challenge then go back to the love language challenge, when I reopened the challenge most of the items I used in challenge had a price tag on them
But b4 glitch (I owned all the items) now this game is making me rebuy inventory i already purchased.
What is up with that?
To make matters worse this is the last Season Challenge in Table-settings.
This game just took eight items I already payed for and is trying to make me buy back items I already bought in my inventory. I have a massive inventory. I have spent a lot of my hard earned money to build my inventory up most specially these Table-setting challenges, because, they are one item buys.
I need a refund of the eight items this game just took from me.
To top it off I had completed the challenge three times tried to enter the completed challenge and the challenge glitched causing me to redo the challenge I’m in the running to win 10,000 diamonds and complete the Table-setting challenges.
Don’t tell me this game is not monitored who does what and who wins what. I want a refund of games and items this game just took from my inventory!!!!!

Beware of buying goods and services to obtain diamond rewards. This is the third time I completed an offer and did not receive diamonds. Support asks for information regarding awards and proof of purchase and you end up in a loop of chats and then they close out the case without ever helping you. What a joke and a scam. Electronic Arts should be ashamed to have this partnership unless they get a cut of the lost dollars customers are spending.
Stay away
This app is a farce. People actually pay money to purchase ugly decor items to design ugly rooms. It’s a joke that someone is apparently getting rich off of!!!

Used to be great, now it's all about money
The game itself is great. It's incredibly soothing and therapeutic. But the game used to be fantastic - peers reviewing each other and voting, designs were uncomplicated. Now, everything is about spending money. You need to buy the currency (diamonds), then you need to buy the ability to design (keys - your supposed to vote to get them but they only give you 3 per SET of votes and it takes forever to accumulate so everyone buys them. The old company - before they sold to EA - used to give you 5). The furniture in the game has gotten ridiculously expensive, plus they added a bunch of things now to add to the expense (blankets, pillows, curtains, etc). On top of everything, they used to offer a package with design items for a low cost. Now it's the same amount of items for more than twice the price, and the prices just keep going up now that EA owns the game. They've gotten SO money-grubbing that it's difficult to stay in the game, as you can't survive on soley playing for free. They've made it now so that you HAVE to spend money, or you'll have a bad "score". Oh, and WE used to vote for each other to give scores.... Now that EA took over, they've made it so that I believe AI is scoring us. I remember finishing a room design and submitting it, and literally 15 minutes later it was "voted" on with a bad score. The old way was to leave it in voting for 2 days to get enough votes. These new implementations have made the game so much worse.
Money hungry
I’ve been a player of this game for more then 6yrs. And it has gone downhill. Making serving carts a requirement part of every design is outrageous. Be ready to spend up to 1,500 plus in cash or use gems. All the new carpets that come out are overpriced. At least make one carpet that is cash valued and not an outrageous price. God forbid I also try to contact support about how I’m not being rewarded off the offer wall. They make it so difficult. Please do better.
No rewards since update
Since your most recent update, I have not been receiving diamond rewards or other rewards when I hit the milestones. I’ve reached out to your support team within the app, and was told to offload and reload the app, clear my cache (which I do after two or three challenges anyway) and reboot my computer. Nothing has worked! I have plenty of memory, so you need this to fix on your end! It won’t even save my email in my profile. This is extremely frustrating! This is a complete rip-off! They pushed out an update, I haven’t received any design pass rewards, they “reset” my account, and expect me to pay again for the March design pass rewards.
deleting this game after years
I used to really enjoy this game and the last straw for me is the last challenge, somehow my score was magically reduced. Done for good.

I retract all previous reviews because ALL YOU DO IS BOMB MY INBOX WITH MESSAGES! We should be able to delete messages without reading them. Today I had 19 in my inbox all from you all on the day. NINETEEN! I’m done. Further, you only earn bombs and things after the first few levels. After that, you’re on your own or you pay for them. ADVICE: if your room looks like someone threw up all over it, your rating will be higher.
Recent changes are terrible
Recent changes make the game unbearable to play. New side carts are required in most challenges and you have to have diamonds to buy them. I play to make pretty rooms. The requirements are getting out of control. Always high priced items. They also added a candy crush game inside the game that doesn’t even allow you to choose. It tells you where to move like they think we’re all idiots. Game is no longer enjoyable.
Pay to play, Unfair scoring, mismatched levels, ridiculous Canvas
The regular challenges have become unnecessarily expensive, making it hard to play without spending money.
At the same time, the introduction of Canvas has completely disrupted the scoring system. Scores have dropped across the board and no longer reflect creativity or skill.
On top of that, players of very different levels are grouped together, which makes results feel inconsistent and unfair.

Sucks
With every update you take away what was owned and start us over i was on level 32 you took me back to 6 an take away half of my stuff do better
Extremely difficult to play inexpensively
You can earn points and diamonds, but they screw you out of them EVERY chance they get. You have to keep buying the same furniture, rugs etc over and over because you only get 5 uses of each. And some are “limited” so you may not even get your 5 uses in!!
This is not a game, but a money-sucker.

Changes for the worse
I have been playing this game for years but the recent changes have made it more expensive and much less enjoyable. I agree with others on the bar carts, get rid of them or make them optional. The recent color palettes are atrocious and 90% of the challenges are the modern style so if you’re not in to pink/purple/bright orange decor and Jetsons style furniture and architecture you’re out of luck. On the plus side I’ve spent no actual money or diamonds recently and did not get current Seasons Pass for the first time since I started playing. Please hire some developers with more refined tastes than a group of six year old girls.
Decorating used to be fun.
I used to enjoy this game but now the rooms are so cluttered with unnecessary items. Who needs a serving cart in every room of the house? And why do most of the carts are awkward and do not post like the item pictured. Most carts show up black and useless, and we cannot finish a design until it is placed. And way to many accessories. Why so many accessories? The rooms are just cluttered with too many blankets and hanging baskets. As much as we enjoy the game it’s getting way to expensive.

This game used to be so much fun! Now I don’t know who’s doing the decorations but it’s horrible and tacky! Miss the old days when it was good.
Store bonus still not being awarded correctly
Just today AGAIN, it awarded me a bonus for day one, when I was definitely further along than that. I get that it’s a way for you to ensure the people come on the app daily, and it is an effective method for doing that. But then award me the points that I’m supposed to be getting. Argh.

This game has changed so much I rarely play it …. They have made more & more items in diamonds to buy! They took away items that were $. Very hard to design now … I will not spend my own $ for this game anymore sadly too much $ & diamonds needed to play effectively….
Sneaky changes
This was a fun game for quite awhile and then you turned it into a money grab. I’ve lost interest in achieving any of the goals now. Expensive requirements in play, increasing the goal amounts in the challenges to win the rewards, it’s lost the fun.

Scam/No Accountability

The game glitched and charged me 3x for the Design Pass $5.29(darn price for a gallon of gas), $2.11 on 3000 diamonds I was credited for the 3K - also I spent another $24 for 36k of which they did NOT credit me- then I provided REVEIPTS TO DESIGN HOME - I contacted support after the charges cleared through Apple Cash Pay- then I contacted Apple who stated that the Game should reverse charges since the charge had processed and I did not receive the items or service. Well Design home stated they couldn’t do anything without proof of Purchase- I provided ALL receipts and they then proceeded to put the blame on to Apple Pay Cash. I am not rich by no means but this is a game I enjoyed greatly for the last 8+ years. And generally was provided excellent customer service & support. I have my own interior design company- and some inspiration has come from the game. But I will recommend this Scam to anyone for there is no accountability by anyone whom they refer to as Support. Apple Cash reached out to let me know that they had the proof all transactions were processed by Design Home- so I will escalate this matter beyond Design Home- any questions please ask me before you too are scammed. In this economy we all need every cent/dollar and not to be stolen from or told we can’t have the services or items we spend OUR money to enjoy.

Too many new requirements
Was my favorite game to do. Loved picking furniture and decorative accessories but two fairly recent changes they’ve done I do not like. They have Tablescaping and when you purchase say a centerpiece you only get 1 vs when you buy say a plant and you get five. Makes it a ridiculous expensive design. And most recently nearly every task requires a bar cart”. Seriously? Who has a bar cart in their house ? Forcing it with nearly every task from a family room, outdoor patio , living room and even in some bedrooms. The designers of the game are getting too money hungry forcing additional purchases.
Will steal your money
I have been playing this game for years and like most of it. They could definitely improve it, make it more user friendly, but suddenly I have tried to buy feature packages, etc like always have done.
The sale goes through, but then an error comes up stating there was a problem.
I tried for a couple of days, changed payment, and location of purchase….the same thing kept happening.
I was able to speak with someone in c.s. once after the very unuseful AI bot, but they didn’t fix anything and never responded to ANY of my messages again. I even have the screenshots of this event.
On top of that Apple won’t refund , so DH has just stolen my money!
It’s so sad that this app feels they aren’t making enough off their users, that they now revert to stealing from them!

Played for a long time, but recently I am finding scale is way off, items reflect different colors, rooms repeat with different uses, and those horrible bar carts! Such a disappointment, does it really make you that much more money? Miss when the coding and design was better quality.
Horrible Customer Service
The game glitched and charged me 4x for the Welcome Home Offer for 1.99 each but never gave me the content. Customer service never enter the chat but 1x. She argued with me n just ghosted me. Left the chat open so I can’t contact them. Going to report fraud with my bank and delete the game. Before this, I absolutely loved the game.
Too expensive
The game has become too expensive for me to play and win. I pay to play every single time. It use to be affordable for a non working senior but not anymore. You push people to spend money which is what this industry does but this is more expensive for me. I suggested making a one time monthly expense to cover the expense of the items that are required. Instead you came with an idea for coloring book which is difficult to score highly on so I am done. The pass you offer should be an increase and contain enough to be able to do every design requirements. That is my suggestion. I am leaving it is way too much for me to play. I was hoping you would be less expensive than Redecor.
Gotten Too Expensive
I’ve been playing this game for 5 years now and I was pretty happy playing the game spending about 30 dollars a month. Now it’s become a cash cow with all of the requirements costing diamonds that you have to pay for. And all of the accessories costs diamonds as well. I used to be able to do 3 or 4 rooms each day. Now I’m lucky if I can do one each week without spending real money. I didn’t mind spending 20-30 dollars a month but now you cost more than several streaming app together to watch some really good movies. Thanks for the fun but I’m out. You’ve become too greedy and it shouldn’t cost so much to play a game. No longer enjoyable.
This game used to be fun.
They took a game that was truly enjoyable even with some of the grind it took to get diamonds, and started implementing things like the match game that has nothing at all to do with designing a home. I’m not sure the developers have the player’s interest in mind at all.
