No ability to specify specific foods to avoid
This app only gives you the ability to avoid wide categories of foods like dairy or nuts. No option to avoid soy, specific nuts or specific plants. If you have food allergies or intolerances, this app is useless.

Under no circumstance should u subscribe to their premium plan outside of in app purchases. They dont offer refunds unless you subscribe thru apples in app purchase. Why I did, I wish I could tell you. But I’m out $119 now and with no warning of the yearly renewal. They refused my refund request. I’ll be taking this up with consumer reports and the better business bureau.

They don’t even notify you that they are renewing your charge. Nor, they even supply you a chance for a refund. Their services are subpar and didn’t find them useful. The subscription doesn’t even show up under the Apple Subscriptions. So, you don’t even know if you have a subscription. This app and company is the worst.

This is a scam. They took my money and the app keeps requesting I purchase another subscription. This app is trying to charge my card even when i already canceled my trial. Thank God it doesnt go trough, so they can try all they want, my card is blocked.
Sketchy Charge for “Subscription”
I never signed up for any kind of subscription, yet PayPal was nice enough to let me know I would be charged $99 the day-of. Never had any inclination of this charge, what it was for, or how I supposedly signed up for this. I downloaded the app Aug 5 then deleted it about 5 min later. Unable to navigate
I would love to subscribe after free trial. I think the recipes are good. Very good value BUT I’m unable to find anything. I save a recipe but cannot find when I open the app. I guess I’ll just hope to continue to receive recipes via email and listen to Diet Doctor podcasts or YouTube. Too bad. My doctor recommended the app to help with low carb diet and recipes for pre diabetes
Won’t make a meal plan if you choose “minimal” prep time
The app takes you through a wizard asking you a bunch of questions about your food preferences. One of the questions is how much time you have to spend cooking each meal. The choices are 15 mins, 45 mins, or no time constraints. If you choose 15, then it doesn’t matter what other selections you make in the wizard, it will give you an error that it can’t make your meal plan because your choices were too restrictive…even if you chose the least restrictive option for every other question. I tried again, choosing 45 just so it would make me a meal plan, but it was a joke. Kneading flour, grating cauliflower, etc, for a meal that was labeled as 20 minutes of prep time. Ok, if you are a chef and you love to cook, maybe you’ll like it and maybe you can grate, knead, etc, in 20 minutes. But if you’re looking for low-prep and simple, look elsewhere.

Charged me for a year long subscription and didn’t notify me my free trial was over. Finding it very difficult to find a way to contact someone.

I’m contacting the national better business bureau about deceptive and questionable procedures to cancel my membership. There others who also have similar situations. If refund and cancellations are not forthcoming and made easier without hassle, then I have a lawyer and others who may be willing to initiate a potential class action against Diet Doctor. Diet doctor should make this process

Any app that makes it difficult to cancel your subscription is bad business and corrupt. Don't bother with this app. They don't even have a section within the app to cancel after you subscribe. They are hoping you forget and let the monthly sub continue.

App malfunctioning
I’ve had to delete and download the app several times because wit stops working. It’s NOT my phone, because the app has malfunctioned on three different phones with different operating systems. I will be deleting the app once again and canceling my subscription!!

Since the last update, I have been unable to use the app. It states there is a server connection issue. There is no way to report the error to the developer.

I’ve tried and tried to tell the app that I can’t have soy. There’s no way to do that. You can say no dairy but you can’t say no soy and no dairy.

Difficult to navigate
The app is clunky. I can’t find my favorites. The icons don’t make sense. Searching is hard if you don’t know the name of the recipe. Don’t get me wrong, I love Diet Doctor. The app is not very easy to navigate.
Dissapointed
This used to be my favourite app, on or off Keto! But now it’s become so over complicated I cannot find anything! How to get to my saved recipes, finding ones I’ve tried before etc all impossible! Very disappointed. Why do developers assume we are interested in too many bells and whistles when all I want is to be able to access my saved recipes and browse new ones.
Not recommending what I eat
It had me take the time to select the foods I eat… and I didn’t select the ones I don’t. I can’t eat tofu and choose not to eat pork or beef, and somehow virtually every recipe/ meal it recommends is tofu or bacon. Not sure why I spent the money/ the time.
Automatic renewal
I didn't like the repeating recipes for keto so I decided to delete the app and I checked under my app subscriptions and there was nothing there. A month later I find charges on my credit card for the renewal and was never notified regarding upcoming renewal.
Easily one of the most frustrating apps to use
Where are the UX designers ? Where is the QA team ? So many little things make this app an exercise in patience.
I’ve been a monthly subscriber for 3 months now, can’t wait to get rid of it. Apps like this make developers like me want to write their own app.

Search functionality is bad and non-existent in favorites. Getting to favorites is via random heart icon at top on a single page ??
Doubling recipes sometimes doesn’t correctly double numbers.
I plan on sending in issues, but some of them are so bad I question the team’s capabilities, or rather if this is the teams baseline, then there’s a huge chasm between thoughts on what is a good app design.
Now even worse with 3.0 on mobile - tablet and mobile functionality is not the same. Meal plan recipes get pushed further in the back. home is now a pre-generated list of recipes - how is one supposed to plan for the ingredients ?? Go shopping on a daily basis ? Home is now a glorified recipe browser, which that functionality is already in the app many times over.
The company has such great data and potential. Please make this into the usable, awesome app that it should and could be !!

Limited, doesn’t follow restrictions
I said no eggs, I get eggs. I would like full nutrition info such as sodium and fiber but that’s not included. This is strictly low carb/keto which wasn’t implied when I want high fiber low carb.

I love the app but since the last update it has been unable to remain open. It crashes constantly. Too bad because I found it very helpful prior to this.

Good recipes, bad app
App just loves to have thing not in sync with its web version. Meal plans work almost independently in two versions, and some times it even may lock you from premium content saying that your subscription is expired, while in web version everything works.
