I played DGV for a couple years and loved it until the devs sold out.
I stopped when they introduced in-game ads which, inexplicably, coincided with bugs that made the game unplayable.
I’m leaving this review a year or so later and am still disappointed in the obvious money grab. Way to stick to your roots…

Scammed
The app took 2,000 coins for a mystery box and never gave me the disc.
Disappointing
The game is good but they’ve really started trying to monetize the game with micro transactions and increased the ads.
Bad physics
Extremely inconsistent flight paths for the same throw under the same conditions.
It floats sometimes before cuting and sometimes it'll immediately cut with no float.
You have no clue what it's going to choose rendering practice useless.

Good game but…
Way too many adds. I don’t mind most ads but these are the type that after you watch the ad you still have to wait another 30 seconds and then it wants to open the app store. Some ads are up to a minute long. It slows the game play down so much it is debatable if it is worth having this game. If you have time to kill and don’t mind rhythm being interrupted, this might be for you. If you are looking for a game to fill small gaps in your time 5 minutes or less, this is not for you. Also too many updates to fix shoddy programming. Seems like they use AI to do programming, release it, then have to go back and fix a bunch of stuff.
Just bad and inconsistent
Really bad mechanics, you can throw the same shot with same conditions and get 20 different outcomes. Very limiting on disc selection unless you pay IRL cash or level up. Overall a cash grab aimed at disc golf fans
Rather go play in real life
Pretty lame. The skips and fades of the disc. Hate that I need to buy or grind to get quality discs. Kind of unrealistic that one can’t dissect a course with slow speed discs. AB is thrashing any pro course with a Luna. Hate that my 13 speed can’t go further than 100meters in a headwind but then a different hole I’ll over shoot a 150 meter hole with the same disc. Only bright thing I can say is this game has the opportunity to improve drastically.

The ads is f insane
Play the game; an ad; press x when it’s done; takes you to the App Store; go back to the game; try to press it again and again and it never works; close the game completely; come back and it’s still trying to get me to watch an ad and takes me back to the App Store. I’ve tried to pay the remove the ads and it didn’t work. I’ve played this on android and apple and it’s worse on iphone it glitches out and prevents me from playing. I play this game to relax and get my addiction taken care of. But it’s like sitting on a thumbtack now.

EDIT: after spending some more time with this, I’m reducing my rating. Why? Because there really isn’t any sense of progression.
For example: the first milestone is level 10 where you get a new bag. Great! Maybe something bigger? Nope. Same disc limit, so if you want more room you still have to spend coins. So basically, upgrading bags just resets you back to the beginning capacity if you’ve already upgraded your starter bag.
Going up in levels doesn’t really seem to offer much, if any, benefit. My level 10 throwing power feels the same as level 1. So the only way I can get more distance/power is with better discs, which is not how actual disc golf works at all.
Earning coins is slow and so far I have found no way to earn “Hyzerium” without having to pay for it. I don’t mind a game wanting to make money, but when the only apparent option for some game features is micro-transactions, it just feels scammy.

Discs fly into hazards automatically. Drives rarely go in the direction you aimed. Wind will blow your disc OB at 2mph then have no effect at 4 mph.
Im a veteran disc golfer and know how discs fly. If You want to be frustrated from restarting every course you play, download this game.

I’m not able to purchase the pro pass/season pass. No way to disable the ads without purchasing it. Lots of bugs requiring restarts.
Helpful hint:
It takes less time to restart the app than it does to sit through the multilayered ads. Don’t waste your time. Don’t let them take advantage of you. Never watch ads that require you to exit out of multiple, layered screens.

Must Force Close Every Round
The game itself if fine, but after each round you must watch an unskippable ad for another game, many of which never end and you can’t close the ad so you have to force close the game.
You can’t pay $5 to remove ads…. Or…. You can just uninstall.

No profile credit
I played this game until a few years ago. It was fun, a lot to like. I spent hundreds of dollars no worries. When I decided I wanted to start from scratch with a new profile there weren’t credits available from my previous profile. That’s a deal breaker for me. If you erase your old profile you should be able to use that money to build your new profile
Ads force you to open the App Store
Ads force you to open the App Store, if I wanted to play a different game I would go to the App Store and play it. Can’t click out of the ad without traveling to the App Store first.

Do I enjoy that we have a great mobile disc golf game? Absolutely. Do I support spending $7 every two months just to get the VIP pass? Hell no.
No game out there, even console, is worth $45 a year. The owners of MVP are a bunch of crooks and it shows even in their game development. I should never have to spend that much money to access features on a MOBILE game.

Multiplayer Rigged with Bots
The game is mostly great. Until I started watching other players in multiplayer matches more closely. I just watched every single player throw their disc out of bounds way off the hill. Then the bot finishes the hole in 2 shots with a birdie? Literally not possible. If OB, 3 shots is minimum. Game is rigged or some weird voodoo is going on. Knock it off DGV.
Ads make this unusable
This used to be a great game, but I picked it up again recently, played one round, and then got shown an advertisement/game that completely blocked the app. The only way to proceed was to kill the app and reopen.

The free version has SUPPPPPER ANNOYING ads at the end of a round not allowing you to exit it. This game is fun but the ads are making me skip this game.

Not fun anymore
Ever since they started putting Ads, and added more features, the game just isn’t fun anymore. The game constantly freezes on the summary page after an Ad, and doesn’t save my rounds. Not fun anymore.
Needs a bug patch
Come on guys. This has been going for a while now. I want to keep playing but ya’ll need to patch the bugs and give us an ad free option.
Fun but very buggy
Fun to play but buttons don’t work after matches , reward buttons don’t always work, ai matches finish button doesn’t work so matches don’t get recorded. Pro shop doesn’t work for removing ads.

The game used to be fun but is now just riddled with bugs. You can’t press ‘done’ after rounds so tournaments are unplayable and it won’t give you and option to buy the pass for rewards. They lost me on this

Great game with great mechanics but from what I found out online, there is a bug in the game that makes it to where the ad free option is not in the store.

I like the game but it doesn’t allows you to select discs or click next when you finish a round. Too many glitches
I can’t believe I have to do this
I’ve loved this game for years. I’ve spent hours among hours playing this game. But two factors of this game has steered me away. #1 it has no friends function on it. It’s a pain to be able to play with your buddies. As of right now, you have to start a private match, and share your code with them. Otherwise you’re either solo or playing with randos. #2 they have added so many attributes they don’t mean anything anymore. The water skips don’t skip, the sticky discs aren’t sticking. Don’t even get me started on the rolling function. That right there is an absolute nightmare. You can have a disc land perfectly flat, and all of a sudden it just starts rolling. This game is about as inconsistent and unreliable as they come. It was fun when it was more simple, now it’s just frustrating.
Good but bugs and crashes way too much
Like this, great selection of courses and range of skill levels. Unfortunately a few flaws/bugs - putting sometimes gets hung up and doesn’t fly, usually robs me of 2-3 strokes per round with this flaw which MATTERS! Also, frequently the screen goes dark after a round - have to exit and kill the app. Not sure if I got my points, can’t tell. Find myself playing this less and looking for an alternative. Instead of adding more complex features, how about getting the basics right and stop the crashing!
Ads killing the game
I enjoyed the game, but they added ads that you can’t get through unless you interact. Super annoying so uninstalled.
