I started playing last season and the game was genuinely fun and addictive progress felt steady. You could realistically upgrade at least one racer per day just by playing this season is completely different. I've played consistently and haven't been able to upgrade a single racer and the season is almost over progression has slowed down dramatically. The biggest issue is the economy changes universal boxes now cost significantly more while giving fewer rewards (roughly 3X worse value than before). At the same time upgrade costs have increased, making it extremely difficult to progress without spending money. This doesn't feel like normal balancing it feels like a deliberate shift to push players into playing. I would have continued playing and even spending occasionally perhaps but this change has made the game frustrating instead of enjoyable. I've stopped playing because of it. If the progression system were fair again, I'd come back, but in its current state, it's not worth the time and effort.

Detail version: I’ve never seen a game studio try to kill a game as quick since a City of Heroes. I’ve spent way more money since I started playing this at the end of last summer than I should have. Justification was I felt like I was getting my moneys worth. It was a good free to play game for people who don’t have disposable income.
You do get stopped in some events but it was worth it. You got good character shards and free to play you could level 10-20 (1-2 full stars) a week. Now I’m good to get an equivalent of 2 levels (1 star fragment which you need 5 for a star) per week. And that’s hitting everything.
For me the downfall came when they released the Cars season but expected you to pay $50 for the character pack that only went to 10 levels each (1 star) without an act of god so not really usable in season content. I’m not paying that as it’s not worth the money.
This season is the first time since starting that I can’t even beat the next to last season because I can’t get tune shards to level up the characters I need to continue.
I’m not even going to go into detail how yes you do get more shards of a single character but the seasonal boxes only give you one thing. It was a joy to open a 9x box and watch my screen flash with all of the items that were opened.
Then you have them giving away free things a few time a week in the store but not now.

Detail version: I’ve never seen a game studio try to kill a game as quick since a City of Heroes. I’ve spent way more money since I started playing this at the end of last summer than I should have. Game became a scam for money
My whole family use to play this game. We loved it. One they’ve made it so hard for a player like my son who doesn’t play every day he is 5. He was so sad the cars racers were stuck behind a $50 paywall. This new update is complete trash.
But now you can’t even upgrade a racer anymore after they changed the levels of racer and the coins is cost to upgrade them. The season pass use to be worth it cause you could get the season racers. Now the season racer is stuck behind a paywall. You literally have to play this game all day to even get anywhere. Each season they have made it just so they can scam more money. And the boxes are now nothing but crew members… you can’t get a racer anymore. The rewards they use to give you were a lot more too for tournaments.
If it’s not broke don’t fix it! Yall messed up a really enjoyable game.

I’ve been playing this game since early access and have watched it get go downhill with every new season. Season 19 is the straw that broke the camels back. I have blatant lies in the patch notes, with many hidden changes that make the game nearly impossible for newcomers. Game is extremely greedy with the attempts to force spending to even attempt to play the game. I play many GATCHA, and this is BY FAR the worst one. Avoid this game at all costs.
New updates = More grind less reward
It’s never been a surprise that this game has been pay to win and now racers can cost up to $49 which is completely bonkers.
They had a major update with tune coins that dramatically reduce how often you can level up racers.
Great there’s Grand Prix but expect to put in a part time to a full time job effort to get a few racer shards.
They should’ve released a base game for $50-$70 for those of us who already have full time jobs and simply want to enjoy a few races after work and not have to grind for everything.

Game worked perfectly before Cars Season. Now the store is. Bugged, the game keeps synchronizing
Why don’t I have the option to Open any Box besides daily box????

It was good but now it’s not
I enjoyed this game a lot but with whatever they did with changing the leveling system ruined it. It feels as if I’m not really able to make any progress on the racers I want. I know these games are pretty much all about making money for the company but it is now whiteout a doubt a pay to play game which sucks. I have this game on my ps5 and plan on deleting it from there as well
Impossible to Play
This game has gotten completely unplayable unless you’re willing to spend hundreds of real dollars. The new star system? Well, it’s barely possible to level up your players without dropping a band to get the level up tokens. Also, nearly every new player introduced is exclusively behind a paywall.
People are quitting this game left and right because of how far this company has tanked it. They’re simply greedy. Don’t waste your time with this game anymore unless you’re willing to spend your paycheck on it and struggle to find other people willing to play with you.

Predatory, Never-Ending Demand for Purchases
I have played this game for a year time on all platforms and spent well over $1K on the game (I had to catch up my account and it wasn’t cheap, but I accepted it) As soon as I got to the point where I just needed to buy a battle pass for the new seasonal racers, they revamped the game, progression system, took away game currencies to replace it with a renamed currency that does the exact same thing at 10x the price (not kidding) and removed new racers from the battle pass, requiring you to pay $50 per season just to unlock the racer (not including progressing them) - in total demanding $300-$400 per season to complete the objective of leveling up a new racer. They refuse to listen to their playerbase feedback about it, and simply find new ways to ask players to part with their hard earned money, all while ignoring player concerns of the only free reward system being exploited by a few select players, leaving no way for 99.99999% of the playerbase to earn free rewards that are meaningful. It seems almost like they want the game to die. I cannot in good conscience recommend this to even my worst enemy.

Can’t complete a single race
Since the new update, I can’t complete one race, even vs the ai. I get the error message “connection to server lost” and it takes me back to the menu seconds before the race is over. Why roll out an update when it’s clearly not ready? They didn’t add anything except changing the upgrade currency which I’m sure will guarantee that players spend more money on their lazy new characters with re-hashed abilities from previous characters. Get it together this used to be fun!

Deer greedsloft you’ve officially hit the New low lightning McQueen is literally the face of this season and yet he’s no longer available for the majority of your players removing the cars tab and hiding his shards behind a paywall is the most desperate cash grab I’ve ever seen a free to play game most of us are stuck at shards because you loved his free progress behind the level 40 Moana a character that has nothing to do with cars you’re not rewarding players you are just punishing anyone who hasn’t been grinding for years or isn’t willing to drop $20 on a single racer I have 40,000 coins and literally have nothing to spend them on because you locked McQueen out of the shop this is not a racing game anymore this is how much we can trick fans simulator fix the shop bring back the Starbucks for season coins and stop treating your community like an ATM some of us actually care about these characters too bad you only care about the money

Not working/glitch??
I absolutely love the game but as of recently, I go to open the app and it says I need to update and then has an “update” button to do so but every time I press it, it doesn’t do anything and it disappears then comes back and says the same thing!!! I even went to the AppStore to see if it said update but there was no OPTION FOR IT 😭 Please fix this! I can’t even get in the game and for no apparent reason :( I’ll give u five stars instead of one.
THE Best Gambling Simulator for Kids!
After playing this game regularly for at least a year, I can say this game has grown unplayable. Anybody new or coming back for Cars season, just know it costs $49.99 just to participate in the Cars themed season fully (Unlock Lightning McQueen as a racer).This company should be ashamed, and anybody with children needs to know the micro-transaction store is like Disney's version of draft kings. Just take that money and buy an actual game

I’ve been a loyal player of this game since it launched. There has always been a push for players to P2P, but grinding was a viable option for those who could not afford a cash payout. The latest and current season, CARS, has been a disaster. No new racers can be obtained with out spending $50!! This is a scam by Gameloft. Unless the players are heard and the game reverted back I will leave my review at 1 star. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS GAME!
A former 5 star review turned negative
I loved this game and have been willing to support it until the so called cars season which is actually the Moana and Anna season pass, now nothing that has the word season has anything to do with the so called season that’s supposedly introducing new characters. I’ll admit they just gave us access to a pack that will only unlock the characters, but it costs $50 dollars. So far it seams like they only want the best of the best that can invest all their time to receive the new characters. After my wife and I have been playing this game this is the second time where I have truly debated about becoming a casual player that won’t pay for anything. I’m only wanting to continue playing at a base level because of how much we have invested in this game. We truly feel like the developers just told us that they don’t care about any of their players. I hope I’m wrong.

Ive been playing this game for the past 2 yrs and logged 600 hrs on it and im done. Every season we get less while playing more. Season pass costs more everytime while being shorter and shorter. Season pass doesnt give rewards for the season characters they advertise anymore. Any new charters are now 50$ instead of earning them through season pass. This game is not for new players. If you are new you ate going to have to fork up alot of cash for anything. Gameloft has gotten greedier and greedier woth this game to the point where its completely ruined by monetization. Gameloft ruined Cars Season
Gameloft placed new Cars racers behind hefty paywalls, leaderboard events that you need to grind endlessly to scrap a few shards and objective based events that required the same locked Cars racers in order to participate. Worst of all they don’t listen to their player community ruining a great game by their greed.

The game has been on a downward trajectory since I started and it has finally hit rock bottom with the Cars season. I mostly skipped the Zootopia season and was planning on buying the diamond pass to get Lightning McQueen, but instead I’m uninstalling the game. I would love to know what you were thinking with these new changes… I can’t even unlock the new character.

Synchronizing at terrible times!
It synchronizes with the game server DURING A RACE, making the game completely unresponsive!!! For a game that you have to tape the screen and tilt your device to race, this is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!! Fix this NOW!!!!!

This game was very glitchy and I only played it for 5 weeks before I had to stop because every time I was racing and close to win my game would freeze for a min and I was in last place and this was happening everyday. Frequent tilt steering failure
Update: don’t waste your time if you like tilt steering games! I’ve had this game for 6 months and tilt steering hasn’t worked for over 8 weeks. First time was 2 1/2 weeks and the second was almost 6 weeks.
I’ve never seen this in a game and I’ve had an iPad since they came out and enjoy tilt steering games. I notified support & got a small compensation. Any time this has happened in other games (VERY, VERY, VERY RARELY) it’s fixed within days not weeks.
I really enjoy the game and it could be a great game but there are a few problems. First, and most importantly, be prepared to make a cash investment or be willing to wait for upgrades. There are lots of chances to spend real money to upgrade. Second, there are lots of false notifications to collect etc.
Another problem is requiring that you purchase racers to participate in events. Right now I am unable to participate in 2 activities because I don’t have the racers & would have to raise their level to 30+ if I did have them

Don’t waste your time.
Like many games, this has pros and cons. However, this has a con so bad that it makes the game not worth your time/effort. The game advertises itself as “free-to-play” but they use an in-game currency (tokens) that are almost rarely given to players and given in absurdly low amounts. Going into a game like this, you probably have a favorite Disney character. Well surprise, even after grinding for 100 hours you’re not given a remote chance to get them as it’s all gacha based. Typically gacha based games give currency regularly so that you can build up and save for your favorite items. This one however, will reward you with 50-100 tokens if you grind like crazy for about an hour. One gacha box opening (3 items) is 500 tokens. It costs 5 real life dollars to get 500 tokens. Why should you have to play for over 5 hours to get even close to what you’ll get from paying 5 dollars. I’ll tell you why, because the entire game is one big cash grab. Its toxic business practices destroy the just barely recognizable heart put into the game. Classic characters don’t have classic outfits, some designs look cheap, but there is an ever so slight care put in some aspects. I’ll give it one thing, the controls work really well in mobile (besides the side dashing). It needs customization options but you can tell this was a mobile game from the start that just so happened to be green-lit into a console/pc port.

What? What type of Disney game is this? No Phineas and Ferb? No Isabella, Buford, Baljeet, Irving, Stacy, Candace, Perry the Platypus, no Carl, Major Monogram, Vanessa or Doofenshmirtz? They all belong in here! It’s a tragedy you haven’t after 17 seasons! But, hey, you at least put Mickey Mouse, your corporate symbol that’s 100 years old!! Hey, on the day of the anniversary of Walt Disney’s death, Y’ALL COULD’NT CARE LESS ABOUT PUTTING PHINEAS AND FERB AND, INSTEAD,PUT IN WALT DISNEY HIMSELF! THAT’S what it feels like!
