If I could leave zero stars I would, but I can’t post unless I leave a star. Once you buy the app, it won’t let you upload until you fill out way more information and give them way more money. Total scam.

This company DISTROKID IS SO SICK. How are you not able to charge my card for my current plan but once I upgrade to the highest paid plan you are finally able to charge me??? I want a downgrade of my plan and a refund of my money. Or I am writing articles about your slimey practices and making detailed videos going into the extent of your disgusting violation of breach of trust. If you never used this company before do not use them. They are God aweful and have zero customer support.
Takes way too long and lies about payment
I’m never EVER using this lying app from this lying company AGAIN! Now I see why more and more people are leaving them out just not using them in the first place

I’m honestly frustrated with DistroKid’s system.
I create my music in GarageBand, without using any AI tools, yet my releases keep getting flagged as “AI-generated” or rejected for that reason. This is really unfair because everything I make is original and created by me.
It feels like the detection system is too aggressive and doesn’t properly distinguish between real human-made music and AI content. Not everyone who makes clean or loop-based music is using AI.
On top of that, DistroKid is a paid service. We are paying a yearly subscription expecting reliable distribution, but instead we face rejections that don’t reflect the actual work behind the music.
Because of this, it’s very discouraging for independent artists who are just starting out. There should be a better review system or at least a clear way to appeal these decisions.
Right now, it feels like we’re being penalized for something we didn’t even do.

Does not have human support!!!!
They have a whole bunch of individual issues and instead of having Human Resources the have Ai bots calling themselves trying to help but you end up in a chat for over an hour just to get nowhere!!
Thieves
I paid for the musician+ uploaded my music to Spotify I even clicked I already have an account. Yall still uploaded it to the wrong account I’ve spent days trying to fix it and claim the artist page that you uploaded it through and it absolutely will not let me. You have robbed me of my time and money and I’m actually disappointed. DistroKid has ruined my joy in uploading.
Not so good with customer service
Waiting on refund with no response from customer service. Never got to use it wouldn’t take the password I set up. Tried changing it several times. not recommended unless you just want to throw away $25.00.
NOT GIVING ME WHAT I PAID FOR
The distributor is usually decent but I used to have a “Musician “ subscription but I upgraded for a “Musician plus” subscription and it didn’t give me the benefits but still took my money. I tried to fix it with their team now for over 3 weeks and I still haven’t gotten benefits or my money back!
Horrible Billing and Customer Service
An app error upgraded my plan, an upgrade that I did not want or request. After hours of going back and forth with the delayed chat bot and even later delayed emails because there is no real customer support available - my old plan was incorrectly refunded, I was forced into a higher plan that I did NOT order, want, or need then was told that I can’t downgrade to my previous plan, again the one that I didn’t change from but they did and charged me for.
The error upgraded me to the highest plan that the app has and being told that they can’t downgrade the plan for something NOT ordered is completely unacceptable. Buyer beware, because if I could rate this a zero, I would. I’m not amused by being hit for $89.99 when I didn’t ask for a plan change and forcing plans onto customers, with no live customer service, should be criminal.

i bought distrokid for 25$ and didnt recive anything i paid for, The very momment i purchased it i was met with popups saying something went wrong, but nothing could have went wrong if my money was gone?. now it has been hours since ive payed for but i still do not have access to the thing that i spent my hard earned money on.

Do not sign up or subscribe with this guy, they won’t pay you a dime and look at the logo, it’s like they’re making fun of you. Let me tell you after I sign up, pay for year of distribution, I thought it was really free. BOOM when I went to release a song, I have to pay for Tiktok, for Apple Music etc… if I want my music to distribute to those platforms, it’s crazy and frustrating after I thought I was all set after my yearly membership and Again after I pay extra to release my songs on all platforms Apple Music kept sending me where my track was playing several times without counting other platforms. LOL I never saw a dime from them till now and guess what the account says to insult you LOL “we owe you $0.00.” so If you want take your chance, go head maybe you’ll be lucky. I’m going back to my previous distributor.

You are greedy for money
I will NOT buy your stupid subscription just for me to make music. You are a greedy company who craves money and never takes a break. I just wanna distribute music, but your greedy app forces me to buy something if I wanna finish the sign up.
Horrible service - ripped off
I don’t like leaving bad reviews but after paying for a year subscription and failing to receive technical support I was just told by one of their help people that there’s nothing they can do. I paid for a service I couldn’t log into and found out I was chatting with an automated bot. Not happy.
BEWARE- scam overcharge my account
I sign up in 9/2/2025. For $24.99 end up they refund then charge $89.99 with out my knowledge, but my account are not working since September upload music said pending for review, I contact support 5 times through chat bot, is said “Agent be wit you shortly” for 5 times since December, no respond from them.
Took my money but my account are not even work. RIPOFF Beware this company, overcharge and no customer support. They don’t answer you. Stay away
