This app is extremely disappointing. You can’t actually place orders through it, which makes it feel almost useless. It also doesn’t show whether items are in stock, so you end up thinking products are available when they’re not.
I tried to order items I saw in the app through Instacart, and about half of them weren’t available at all. That’s very frustrating and a huge waste of time.
Overall, the app needs major improvement to be functional and reliable.

Dollar tree app
The Dollar Tree app is extremely frustrating to use. It doesn’t allow customers to simply add a single item to their cart. Instead, you’re forced to purchase large quantities of products, even if you only want one item. That approach doesn’t make much sense from a customer experience standpoint. Many shoppers just want to grab one or two things for in-store pickup, not an entire case.
The ordering process is confusing and restrictive, especially when trying to use in-store pickup. The app doesn’t feel intuitive, and the overall experience seems outdated compared to modern retail apps. Navigation is clunky, features feel limited, and it doesn’t reflect the level of convenience people expect from a retail app in 2026.
Overall, the app feels poorly designed and not very useful for everyday shoppers. Improving the technology, updating the interface, and allowing flexible purchase quantities would make a big difference. No purchasing on the app?
What’s the purpose of this app? Why can’t I purchase anything on the app, yet I can on the website? And the website is HORRIBLE too! If you try to search for an item, the search bar starts filling out with some random item not any item with the letters I’m trying to type in. Wth?!?

Very disappointed
So I downloaded this app to see what’s in my local store. You know I get home and I open it. Nothing’s loading mind you worked at the store, but I got home. It doesn’t wanna work now. They need to fix the app.
Pop-Up that won't go away
There is a pop-up for a code that will not go away. It takes up the whole screen. You can make it slide out of sight, but it slides right back. There is no "x" to delete the pop-up. I gave up. Boooo

The filter to choose to show Item is in Store doesn’t work at all.items show, you click on one, it is Out of Stock. Click on Check nearby Stores. Out of stock there too.The intent of using the filter is to save time. This app is useless.
Just bad
I went to use the app to search out some products and every 30 seconds an ad would appear. I couldn’t finish searches and never did get to the products so will delete the app and never shop the Tree again.
Do not download
This is the second time I download this app, just to delete it afterwards. It is the most unhelpful application out there. If you’re looking for something specific from Dollar tree, you will not find it in their app.
Worst app I’ve ever downloaded
Impossible to use won’t accept my password - keeps telling me to “update your DollarTree app” even though I have updated. Now I’m here because I’m deleting the app. I don’t keep any app that can’t function as it should.
By far the stupidest app
App wants you to sign up yet you can’t shop. The inventory for the stores are no where near correct either. So what is the point of this app aside from to collect data to sell?

You can’t order anything in the app, which is fine. I just wanted to make a list of things to keep an eye out for when in store. Can’t even do that! They only let you favorite 30 items! Ridiculous! Could have actually been a useful app.

You can not order from dt and have it shipped to the store. You have to go to the website. Most of the things on the app are not in stock at the local store.

needs to be banned
it took forever to load kept freezing even though you could look you can’t bye anything the app needs major improvements when i tried to order anything it would track to the wrong house and it wold add Radom things to my cart like cake mix or pickles all though you could look in store is better and the app you have to pay more then in store………………..don’t recommend

No real purpose
You can neither order from the app nor find out whether an item is in stock at your selected store. These features are available on the Dollar Tree website. I am not really sure what the purpose of the app is. I prefer to use the website on Safari to access Dollar Tree info by mobile phone.

Is there a secret to purchasing on the app? I don't want bulk items. I want to purchase several different items that my local store doesn't have and have them shipped. I don't want 20 of the same item.

Seriously? You can’t search for stores by amenities. That should be a basic function. Also, the plus stores aren’t identified nor are the stores with craft zones. That was the only reason I downloaded the app. Get your data up to date!
Why even have an App?
I don’t understand why they even have an app. They put everything as out of stock to where you can’t purchase items on there and you don’t know if they are actually even out of stock before you go up to the store to purchase. The site is even worse cause it tries to make you buy bulk for wholesale as if you’re a store. 🤦♀️

What’s the point in offering an app if we can’t even shop on it? All we can do is look at items, without even knowing if they’re in stock. You can’t add anything to a shopping cart. It’s useless.

Dollar tree is going downhill quickly
This app is absolutely horrible and worthless. You can’t add anything to a cart, place orders, or even learn the skus of products. There are many things that exist in stores not on the app, and many things that are on the app that are not in the stores (what the heck?!).
It’s the end of October and almost none of the “normal” Christmas items that we usually buy in bulk for our organization are available on the app or online- it makes no sense. It’s clear why Dollar Tree and the associated stores are performing so horribly right now…. They desperately need a new CEO and new management that won’t change the things that once went very well for the organization or else some people will never again step foot in a dollar tree. They’ve taken many giant steps backwards into the 1990s… especially by rolling out an app that is literally worthless in terms of helping customers find products that 1.) are actually available to buy and 2.) allowing them to actually buy them (and pick up in store or get ordered to store). There is no company I know with a worse app than dollar tree… even many of the super small companies that have apps have a better one than dollar tree!

Unable to Order
I downloaded the app, and It doesn't give the option to add to a cart or place an order. I have to go to the website to place the order. Just a waste of space on phone
No tax exempt barcode
I thought the app would be great so that I could pull up my approved tax exempt barcode they gave me on the website. Nope. Not an option on the app. It was the only reason I downloaded the app, so I could pull that up and have them scan it in store while I shop. But that isn’t even an option. DELETE
the limit to liking items defeats the entire purpose
I deleted this app as soon as I got a pop up telling me I’d reached the limit of items “liked,” which at least for me, defeats the purpose of the entire reason I ever get store apps, which is to use them as a wishlist/shopping list, especially considering that you can only order in bulk on DT’s website, so I really don’t use the website, and thought the app would be better to use for that.

Ok we can see what dollar tree “might” have but can’t purchase from the app. So why bother with it?? What a waste of time.

It’s useless. Only thing can do on there is to look up an item, I can do that on the website. It doesn’t tell me if it’s available in the store and I can’t order from the website. Useless.

Zero stars. Dollar Tree can’t seem to figure out how to make a functional app. The last one sucked, tried again after their equally horrible website said “new app” .. and what a disappointment. It crashed, froze, stopped loading, and had to be closed out 2x all within 5 mins while simply browsing the products.

Update is awful
The updates made a week ago, make the app unreliable and practically useless. Fix the app revert back to the previous version until you fix the bugs.

app bugs and is stuck
i can’t change the location of my store so i can’t check availability for items at other locations. it’s stuck at a location i haven’t even been to and won’t switch over no matter how many times i try and change “my store”
also when i checked the website, its not pulling up multiple things that i KNOW are in store because I was in store literally the night before. inventory needs to be done more often or something.
