Tried it when it first launched (simpler budget) and it was ehh monarch was better.
Now gave it another try recently and it was better than the original app they made but honestly not better than monarch, rocket money, and kind of reminded me of a modified YNAB. Monarch for me is still better. Don’t think it’s awful but definitely not the best budgeting app out there , I think they have a lot of work to get it up there.

Broken App
Wanted to test the budgeting app to see if it works better than what I’m doing. This one is PAID as a subscription to use. When I first accessed it, every tab for tracking transactions, budget categories, etc were limited with a prompt requiring me to connect my bank account. But every time I clicked it to link & continue, nothing would happen. I could not proceed or actually use the app. TERRIBLE functionality for a new user. Was never able to even see if the budgeting layout was helpful.
Terrible Support
App is glitchy and it is impossible to get help from customer support. I’ve had a billing issue and the only way to handle it is via email. I’ve emailed a lot in 3 days and have not had any help.

Underhanded & sketchy
Tried the app for free for two days, then tried to cancel the upcoming subscription fee as I decided it wasn’t for me. You cannot cancel the subscription within the app and the email they supposedly sent to me NEVER got to me despite multiple attempts. “Support” is an email address as opposed to a chat/messenger type support, which is lame. Whole thing is sketchy. As a budgeting app with the aim of helping people feel more in control of their money, sure is pretty slimy to 1) have an expensive subscription-based app and 2) make it impossible to cancel said subscription. Don’t mess with people’s money!
Worst app ever
Tried to cancel my subscription and you have to do it through the website. However I can’t login the website for some reason. Just messy and awful. For a budgeting app they fs know how to take your money. I’d give it a lower star than 1 if I could.

Can’t even reset my password “network issues” even though I’m connected to my WiFi - this app sucks, issues right off the bat.
Triplicate charges and no customer service response
I reached out to customer support 2-3 weeks ago and haven’t received a follow-up or resolution. Venmo charges appear 3x….that’s how I pay my rent… only option through my landlord so my budget numbers are always off.
Garbage
This is an absolutely garbage app. Caleb only wanted to make it to make money off of people who already have hardly any money. If you need a budgeting app it’s obvious to anyone with at least one brain cell that you don’t have the money to buy a stupid budgeting app. I barely have enough money for food let alone this dumb app. I thought this app would actually be able to help me so I don’t have to live paycheck-to-paycheck but clearly Caleb is just a money hungry POS. I will never support him again and no one else should be either.
Didn't even get to the actual app
I don't understand the logic of having to pay for a budgeting app. I understand if you are doing good financially and just want to have even better finances. But for people who don't have that much wiggle room in their budget it probably wouldn't work. I also didn't like the fact that I couldn't even make it into the app before it asked for me to pay for the subscription. Also everything goes through a 3rd party app or website even the subscription.

The app itself works fine. My low rating is primarily due to an issue I experienced after about two months of use. The app locked me out of my account, and I was never able to regain access. Although I paid for a full-year subscription, I was unable to continue using the service because of this problem.
I contacted customer support and sent multiple emails seeking assistance, but unfortunately, the issue was never resolved. As a result, I paid for a subscription that I could not use for the majority of the year.

DO NOT EVEN INSTALL WITHOUT THIS INFO! Took all my logins, then ask for payment?
I heard about this from one of the creators who compared it to Mint, a great, but mysteriously discontinued FREE service. As I began using Dollarwise, I provided logins to connect three or four financial accounts. Then it started notifications at every turn, saying an update was available. When I was ready, I chose update. No update was installed, instead I got a paywall. AFTER taking all that financial info, it then starts insisting on subscription fees. That’s some UPFRONT LEVEL INFORMATION. Disgusted and turned off by the money grab. Kick rocks!
Won’t let me cancel subscription
Signed up for free trial currently trying to cancel subscription before it charges me. I received my email that said I signed up but now it’s not sending me the link to be able to cancel it online like it is making me. Absolutely ridiculous to make it this complicated . Also doesn’t properly track money and spending . Do not recommend at all

Signed up for free trial + yearly subscription. Won’t sync to my bank accounts and completely resets everytime I open the app. On the other hand, cannot cancel my free trial or subscription. Reached out to the support through email and never heard back from them. Highly disappointed especially because I enjoy hammers videos so much!
Go with another option
I purchased the subscription because it gave good insights, however, the new redesign has made the app a nightmare. The app does not update anymore with my spending, it doesn’t show what you have spent and how much is left like it use to, and i am asked the same questions everytime I open the app. I never had this much issue with rocket money and will probably swap back. It was also way cheaper. I would suggest any other application at this time till there is more work done to update the app.
No transactions load
Had the app for the 3 day trial. And then min day 4 got charged for my subscription, however not a single transaction from any of my 3 banks showed up on the app over the 4 days of having the app.

I love Caleb and his show, but this app is an absolute disappointment. The app glitches constantly and doesn’t allow you to connect your banks. I work for a SAAS company and have a very good understanding for apps, but this one has too many bugs!

Was really looking forward to using this app, got the three day free trial today but unfortunately the app doesn’t work. I’m a huge fan of FA, however the app just doesn’t work. I can’t connect my NFCU account to the app. I was really excited to use this app but until it gets fixed 1 star.

Every screen is telling me to connect my bank, I’ve connected it multiple times and the features still don’t work. $10 a month for a broken app is crazy work.

Just does not work. You can sign up and start the free trial to start connecting your accounts, but you never actually get your account data. When you click view all transactions, it wants you to connect your accounts again. When you do connect your account again you’ll see your account is in there twice now, but you still don’t have any transactions, insights, etc. When you go look at your connected accounts, you will see that they have been duplicated. It is just a circle. When you go back to your transactions it prompts you to connect your accounts again.
Also, every time you open the app, you have to give it your name, your goal, your income, etc, as if it was the first time you open the app.
Basically this app has promise, but it’s currently an early beta that seems to have no QA behind it.

Disappointed
With how much I support and enjoy hammer media I was really excited to try out dollar wise. Like a lot of the reviews on here, I ran into the app resetting every time I opened it. It also wouldn’t show my transactions even after connecting my accounts.

I was able to connect my account and it didn’t analyze anything. Said I had a bunch of money I could spend this month and I know that’s not true!
Great concept if it worked
I was never able to truly use the app. After many tries I was able to link most of my accounts. Unfortunately after waiting a few days the app never actually populated any information or transactions from those accounts. Not really worth spending more time on especially when it’s so expensive.
The owner says slurs and you have to pay 99.99 subscription to use the app
His name is Caleb hammer. He own a YouTube that a regularly says slurs. He says to r-word regularly. He says if you are offend then you should just get over it. He don’t care. I downloaded the app and set up the account. Before I can even fully finish the set up part of the account. It says I have to pay $99.99 dollars to finish setting up the account to use the app properly and to get pass the setup. 0/10 I’m deleting the app.
Couldn’t connect
Tried multiple times to connect to multiple accounts and failed each time.

Accounts are connected but it hardly shows anything, tried to reconnect the account nothing works only shows my balance no breakdown in spending.

Mentioned this being an app like mint. Sadly this is just a huge subscription scam requiring 10$ a month. mint was always free.

The app literally is just not working. After connecting my bank accounts, the app shows zero transactions over the last 3 months (impossible. There is plenty activity in those accounts). So I see nothing on the “Insights” and “Activity” tabs. They just keep telling me to “connect bank”, which I have already done. Really was hoping to use this free trial period to see how this app could be useful, but it literally doesn’t work. I’m disappointed. Waste of time and effort. I’ll pay the little extra for a competitor because at least their app performs as expected.

Not sure why I can’t link accounts? It’s literally the whole point of the app. Also if for an example you have multiple accounts, they all get synced in no matter what. I have a personal and a business account and it’s all been linked and added. Had to delete my subscription and account since there’s no option to just sync specific accounts. So I decided to make a new account and now can’t link anything

Paid subscription required
I really wanted to try out the app because my financial situation isn’t the best and I love the show. I was hoping to try out budgeting and tracking for the first time with this app, and as a person who is quite literally living paycheck to paycheck without trying to add more debt, I was disappointed to see that you cannot even begin with anything unless you pay. It doesn’t make sense at all to be charging for an app that is meant to help people with money.
