I wrote a simple prompts about Black military nurses: African American military nurses standing together quietly before their shift inside a wartime medical tent, warm lantern lighting, emotional unity, cinematic realism, vertical 9:16, no text. And I keep getting violations. I took out wartime, same result. Then I wrote Black military nurses praying together. That was a violation. So disappointed.

Honestly I was recommended to try the app by ChatGPT. It was complete garbage. Limits on how long you can put a text for it to convert. Auidibly is a better app if you’re looking to convert text to voice. ElevenLabs if I could give you a zero star I would. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS GARBAGE.

#1. People who complain about having to pay for an app, GROW UP! I’m happy to pay for apps but this on has too many negative ISSUES!
#2. I was initially impressed at first with this AI Voice Generator but as I was entering a very lengthy text for a voiceover on a YouTube video I was making, I decided I would like to try a second or third voice. But once you select a voice, you are stuck with it and IT CAN NOT BE CHANGED.
#3. If you want to file away the script you wrote, you can’t save it in order to start a new script. You get one script and only script only AND ONE VOICE ONLY 👎.
I’m going to cancel my subscription and will try a different app. This one is a pain because of the ONE VOICE problem and no way to save a script and the MONTHLY FEE OF $22 PER MONTH IS TOO EXPENSIVE unless you are a Hollywood Movie Studio.

I was referred by google however suno v5 is superior for melody and song creation overall . The music side left me wanting to delete this after 5 minutes as they are just not in the same league.

They charge you for using too much voices and you can’t earn anything to use it again so if you don’t have enough money to afford it, you’re only allowed to use it for like a day and then Woopsie doo no more eleven labs for you🙄
Let’s be real
Paid for the Creator level ($22/mo) to use text to speech for homework. Nope. Very slim on features to begin with.
Cannot upload a word or Drive document. You can only paste a small amount of text for text to speech. And with Creator Mode ($22 mo.) Text to Speech is only good for smaller documents. A 16000 word document was WAY over the limit. And that is not a large document by any means. I’m sure they have a niche, bit it isn’t a student or instructor.

I’ve been using ElevenLabs quite a bit, and honestly, the current pricing just doesn’t make sense for what you get.
As of March 2026, the $22/month plan with a 100,000 character limit feels way too restrictive for the price. If you’re doing anything beyond light usage like generating longer scripts, audiobooks, or consistent content, you burn through that limit fast.
At that price point, one of two things would make it worthwhile:
Either unlimited characters for around $20/month, or
Keep the 100,000 character limit but at a significantly lower price
But combining a relatively high price and a strict character cap just doesn’t offer enough value. It ends up feeling like you’re constantly rationing usage instead of actually using the tool freely.
The quality of the voices is excellent, that’s not the issue. But the pricing model right now makes it hard to justify sticking with it long-term unless something changes.
