Used to be a good app.
At one time this app was great. Then it was no longer able to get my mortgage information from Fifth Third Bank. Now I can’t log on at all. It says call technical support, but no number is provided. When I try calling Empower support number I found online no one seems to know what is going on or how to help. Very disappointing.

Constantly Prevents Logins
Truly unacceptable how often this terrible app prevents logins for various reasons (constant maintenance, bugs, failures, etc.). Such a horrible app for that alone.

Love this app for the most part. Over the years, since they bought Personal Capital, they’ve made the dashboard much quicker to update which is much appreciated. Love watching my net worth increase over time.
However, ever since the Juneteenth update, Face ID has been broken, shoots an error message. Ironically, if I try to sign in with a password, which also uses Face ID, it signs in fine. But that takes more time and taps to do. The app also doesn’t sync with TSP anymore even after the 2-factor authentication. Please fix.

Update Crashed the Login
After using this app for years, they required an app update. The new app will not login and I am unable to reach customer service. I would change this review once they resolve the issue but it’s been a bit.

Asking for SSN
Why does the latest Update started asking for SSN? I cannot login anymore. I’ve been using this app for 5 years. If this does not get fixed. I’ll leave.
Sloppy
App has gone way downhill since Empower took it over. Clearly a result of AI garbage code and corporate greed. Takes two taps to get Zillow to even load now, and Face ID doesn’t work. Everyone employed by this company should be ashamed of themselves.
MFA for personal dashboard accounts does not work after latest update!
After recent update the MFA doesn’t work for the Personal Dashboard account but it still working for 401K accounts. Very confusing and frustrating! Fix it please!

This app is terrible, the UI is so much worse than it used to be. It keeps going downhill now that empower is changing it.
They also make it impossible to delete your account. It’s unethical and borderline illegal.

Latest update breaks Face ID login

Just updated 6-19-26 now app doesn’t work at all. Don’t update.
Latest update killed it
The latest update now won’t let me log in and their website is not working either. They really know how to break stuff.
APP is unavailable and NO Online services for most of 6/19/26
Who shuts down an app for over 1/2 a day or more making inaccessible to view your finances under the pretenses to improve the app. Even the offices are shut down. Not taking messages. Nothing. No ability to link with someone if something ‘shady’ going on with account.
New Update Bricked App
I check Empower daily. I’ve been having account connection issues for a long time but still have found it mostly useful. Today I updated the app and I simply cannot login at all. They need to patch this up or I’m going to have to jump ship on this app. I’ve been using it forever and it’s only gotten worse with time. Too bad.

It used to work. Now, it’s defunct.
The app worked great until I was forced to install an “update”. Since updating, the app is defunct and worthless. Can’t login. Face ID doesn’t work. The field to manually enter the password is locked and no password can be entered. The help line phone number is also worthless because I am semi-hearing impaired and can’t communicate via phone calls. Please fix the app or delete my account.

Last update broke it
Used for several years thru all the name changes and loved it, but Empower is losing its way. The most recent update lost my password, changed the appearance and destroyed the interface on my android phone. No longer usable. Each new update has increased the intrusive ads, nagging, and annoyance. Please go back to previous versions.

Terrible user interface for iPhone 6e
What a horrible user experience. Save buttons hidden way down where you would never scroll, no ability to hide the keyboard on the social security entry, no navigating to other menus off the left side bar unless you are on the main account screen. I guess android users are getting all the love! LOL

The app is terrible for accessing my account. I’m considering closing my account because of the number of attempts and time it takes to gain access.

Inputting beneficiary address info is impossible after special character is included. Cannot ever remove the special character and thus cannot complete beneficiary address info. Reported this to them and a year later still no fix. If you have an App, make it work and fix problems. I’ll probably rollover my 401(k) to another company for this reason alone.
