Bait and switch, lame interface
The 5-star reviews must be bots. No matter what level you test at the beginning, you can’t skip ahead and have to test out of each tedious section. The whole dubbed movie clips thing is gimmicky, not like natural language.
The abridged audiobooks are ok, but selection is very limited and you just have to scroll through all the titles to find what is available in your level (no filter in search ).
I purchased a three month subscription thinking it was a low-commitment but after 3 months, they renewed it automatically for another three months. There is no way to cancel in the app and it isn’t listed in your Apple account subscriptions. To cancel, I had to log into the website. They tell you this in “terms” that you receive in email after signing up, but you never see this in app on phone.

Worst Customer Service
I was excited to try this app but it would not work on my phone or PC. Every time I tried to use it, I got the message that I needed to subscribe, even though I had a subscription. When I tried to cancel, I got the run-around from customer service. They would not cancel the subscription after multiple requests. I finally had to go to PayPal and discontinue payments. Worst experience I have had with an app to date.
Warning Ai bot trap, Impossible to cancel or get refund!
Used a few months, but when I tried to cancel it is impossible to complete cancellation of subscription. I cannot get past the bot Ai so I keep getting charged the monthly fee.

Yo cancelé la membresía cuando terminó, elimine mi cuenta y aún así intentan cobrar la renovación, no tengo la cuenta activa y no entiendo lo que van a cobrar, tengan cuidado de donde ponen su tarjeta porque ellos siguen cobrando como si nada. Ni EWA me responde ni su plataforma de pagos que se llama Paddle, solo me mandan notificaciones que van a cobrar y ellos son un intermediario que no tiene que ver con EWA.

Wants money every time I try to use it
Absolutely not worth it, I paid $139 for a year, and haven’t been able to use the app once. On a session to set it up I chose watching movie clips to learn, but they were poor quality and clipped quickly so they were very difficult to use. I contacted customer support and have not received any response or help. I can’t figure out how to get my money back within the 7 day use trial, but I hope to because it is disappointing
Awful and impossible to cancel
I am quite fluent in Spanish and even after selecting “advanced” on the app I got taken thru basic videos learning how to say hello. There is also no mechanism to cancel so now am paying for something completely useless. Avoid this scam please.
Too remedial
This is starting with way to remedial a lesson. I need more advanced lessons.
Keep looking
I spent an hour on this app going through 15+ lessons. It would be improved by adapting to a person’s skill level, providing more appropriate movie choices (or an option to select movie genres), and avoiding sexist language/tone. Conversations focused on using the word “babe” and tolerating impolite comments by men in text conversations. Clearly setup for young, single men.

Learn new word in this app that make me feel crazy
It waste my time to learn my new word because many words I have known already. But I can delete or skip it out on my vocabulary list.

Now I’ve finished beginner work but no new lessons are opening. Still no response from their customer service. Glad I didn’t pay much cause I’m not getting much at all.
Double charges
I have been charged for both the annual plan and the yearly plan. Support has been unhelpful. They want copies of invoices and will not accept copies of payments. I only gave it 2 stars because I liked the app. Be careful with this app!
Only start with beginner?
I indicated I’m intermediate, I did well in the test before signing up. But now that I’ve subscribed to the app I only have access to beginner level activities. This is not useful for me.

Some of the AI voicing of German text, especially in flash cards, is wrong. Close, but wrong.
Overall, disappointing for a Paid app. I’ll be looking for something else.
