Maybe don’t download
For context, I understand Spanish very well but speaking it isn’t it my strong suit. Right off the bat, the app gives you a test to try to determine your current understanding/skill in the language by showing you film clips in said language and then providing a list of answers, you have to pick the right translation of the clip. The phrases were quite basic and easy to translate but the app told me I answered wrong on every question. You can’t learn if the app itself doesn’t know how to speak Spanish.

Do not subscribe to this app under any circumstances.
The subscription renews automatically, and even though my renewal happened just one day ago, they refused to issue a refund. They claim that refunds are not available because more than 14 days have passed since the date I originally subscribed, even though the latest renewal charge was only made recently.
It feels like this is how the app makes money: by automatically renewing subscriptions while making the cancellation process unnecessarily difficult. Canceling is far more complicated than it should be.
The content is not worth the price, and the company’s subscription and refund practices are extremely disappointing.
I strongly recommend that people avoid subscribing to this app.

Childish, not for serious students
This is for complete dimwits. Annoying childish animations. The antithesis of academic learning, but also not fun at all. And why is there hardly any Spanish literature available? Avoid avoid avoid.

Frustrating experience
To this day, this was the worst customer service experience I’ve had in the United States.
I tried to cancel my subscription on the same day the charge was made, but there was absolutely no flexibility or willingness to help. Even after explaining the entire situation, the only response I received was negative.
The support team is extremely disorganized: they are unable to locate your subscription, invoice, or basic account information. You have to find and send everything yourself, otherwise they won’t even review your request.
After all the delays and frustration, the final response was simply: “we will not cancel it.”
The app offers nothing different from other English-learning apps, yet charges an extremely high price for what it provides.
I do not recommend either the app or the customer service.

If you sign up through the app store it will sneak in a redirect and have you sign in through a method that doesn’t show up in your app subscriptions. You can’t unsubscribe from the app and won’t know that you’ve subscribed until they charge your payment method on file for your phone. If you dispute the charge that you never agreed to, you will lose because you can’t provide proof for an agreement that never existed. Don’t sign up for any app that doesn’t let you close your account from the profile, especially if it’s telling you to unsubscribe through your phone but doesn’t have it listed. You have no way of knowing and no notice that they’re charging you because it’s a scam. No ethical company would sneak a subscription service in without the ability to cancel in the app.

Ho-hum language learning
After trying it a couple months, I was completely underwhelmed. I liked the stories to translate but the lessons were not very well done.
I am currently fighting them the last three months to try and cancel but they continue to charge me every month. I may have to cancel my credit card and order another one just to get them to stop. Once you sign up it is obvious they will never let you leave.

Deleting the app should not require contacting a bank, opening disputes, and going through multiple support systems just to stop future charges.

Не загружается приложение уже больше месяца. Главный экран с уроками в вечной загрузке. Wi-Fi соединение стабильное. Так как куплен премиум - обидно вдвойне. Написать в поддержку в приложении тоже нереально, письмо просто не отправляется. Все обновления были загружены.
Так как продуктом пользоваться нереально, хотелось бы вернуть деньги, потраченные на премиум доступ.

PURE ROBBERY! CHARGED $39 AND REFUSED TO CANCEL!
This app is an absolute financial scam! They use disgusting "dark patterns" on their website to trick people into quarterly subscriptions. I was misleadingly charged $39.00 for a 3-month subscription, and I HAVE NOT USED THE APP EVEN ONCE! NOT A SINGLE MINUTE!
When I immediately tried to cancel it through their official payment system (Paddle), their support chatbot was deliberately programmed to trap me in an infinite loop. It completely blocks the cancellation request and refuses to stop the automatic billing, trying to force you to email EWA directly so they can ignore you.
They steal money from people who don't even use their service and then block every legal way to cancel it. This is a fraudulent trap, not an educational app. I am demanding a full refund and filing a chargeback through my bank. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS TRASH!

BEWARE - IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL
I’ve sent three cancellation requests through Paddle, the third-party company use the process their payments. There’s no transparency on any invoice what this chart is for. In any event, I’ve gone through paddle three times requesting a refund and they say every time they need to email the company to get approval. I will now have to call American Express and block their charges and request for refund. I’ve never had this situation with an Apple app before and beware of this company.

False Advertising and Poor Customer Service
I am at an advanced level in Spanish. The app said it could help with growing my vocabulary and getting to a more advanced level. I decided to try it and signed up. Despite my profile saying advanced, all the lessons were beginner level. I reached out thinking maybe it was a technical issue and their reply was instructions on how to cancel. I followed up again asking if they can resolve the issue instead and once again they replied with how to cancel. I’ve canceled and have asked for a full refund since they did not provide the service promised. I sincerely hope they refund my money because it was a total waste of my time.

Deceitful
You can’t unsubscribe in the app. It doesn’t show up in Apple subscription sections. The only indication is the email they send as SOON as they charge you - not earlier to ensure you even want the charge. They use AI, not humans, for support. You have to login on the website to cancel. They don’t even make that easy they have a pop up ad to redirect you to the app (where you can’t manage the subscription) with the tiniest “X” ever seen so you can close it to get to your account online. It’s a deceitful practice. Buyer beware - they don’t gaf, they don’t respond, they use AI and their business practice is shady in how they treat spending your money. I don’t recommended and I’m stuck with the charge and an app I don’t want through August. I’m keeping it to make sure they don’t charge me again and I alerted my card company of never accepting a charge from them again. Horrible, horrible business practice.

Bait and switch, lame interface
The 5-star reviews must be bots. No matter what level you test at the beginning, you can’t skip ahead and have to test out of each tedious section. The whole dubbed movie clips thing is gimmicky, not like natural language.
The abridged audiobooks are ok, but selection is very limited and you just have to scroll through all the titles to find what is available in your level (no filter in search ).
I purchased a three month subscription thinking it was a low-commitment but after 3 months, they renewed it automatically for another three months. There is no way to cancel in the app and it isn’t listed in your Apple account subscriptions. To cancel, I had to log into the website. They tell you this in “terms” that you receive in email after signing up, but you never see this in app on phone.

I was excited to try this app but it would not work on my phone or PC. Every time I tried to use it, I got the message that I needed to subscribe, even though I had a subscription. Wants money every time I try to use it
Absolutely not worth it, I paid $139 for a year, and haven’t been able to use the app once. On a session to set it up I chose watching movie clips to learn, but they were poor quality and clipped quickly so they were very difficult to use. I contacted customer support and have not received any response or help. I can’t figure out how to get my money back within the 7 day use trial, but I hope to because it is disappointing

Warning Hard to Cancel
The content is descent but I couldn’t figure out how to cancel the subscription. They don’t make it easy. I wonder why! I couldn’t find it in the phone app so I tried the web app and founded it (still was hard). I was a couple hours too late. They already charged me. I asked for a refund and they said it was not possible. That of course is a lie.

I tested into intermediate level but the app made me start with beginner work. I went ahead and did the lessons and sent multiple emails to them asking about it. Double charges
I have been charged for both the annual plan and the yearly plan. Support has been unhelpful. They want copies of invoices and will not accept copies of payments. I only gave it 2 stars because I liked the app. Be careful with this app!
