Terrible app
Bank of America integration is not working properly. Transactions are not synchronized, have to delete and connect again bank connection to pull up transactions every time, sync button does nothing. Transactions from bofa with the same amount are merging and the app shows only one transaction. I have two transactions $1000 each one, in app I can see only one charge for $1000 and spend is $1000 but spend is $2000. Support is silent. Buggy and useless. Had to cancel a subscription.
Let me at least try the dumb thing

Hi, not sure if this is due to daylight saving change, but after I delete a record. The app keeps crashing whenever I try to open it. Can you please fix it?
Crashing ever since the update
I’ve been a fan of the app but ever since the update, it crashes immediately upon startup and it’s unusable. Please patch this right away.
Don’t Buy if you use AmEx
I made the mistake of buying a lifetime subscription before thoroughly trying this out. It will not let me hook up American Express, which is my primary cards that I use. Been back and forth with customer service and they are blaming on a third party software integrator that they use. Salt somebody. I’m being frustrated as I’m having to manually enter in everything.
No privacy
The app is not working unless you give it your email and give the developers all your personal private financial information. This should not be required just to save some financial data on my phone. If the developers force you to do this they probably sell your financial information to advertisers.
Horrible
This app is terrible. No support from within the App, when I click on help I just get Mac OS help. The appearance of the app is similar to a grade school presentation for children. I attempted a few times to make this app work for me with no luck. I requested a refund, on day one, thru Spendee they say go thru the App Store, they also would not refund????? AVOID this app unless you are a total beginner (I am not) and then good luck!!
Spender charged me despite on trial
I signed up for trial for three days but was instead charged for 35.99 before the trial even begin. This is such a scam practice

Couldn’t even get started.
Due to the app pushing for the subscription I couldn’t even look around or connect an account. Every time I tapped on something there was the ad again.
Misleading “trial” - be careful!
They advertise a 7-day free trial, but as soon as you confirm the subscription, they charge you for a full month right away. The 7 days are just added on top, but that’s not a free trial - it’s a paid subscription with a bonus.
I contacted their support but got no response. Very disappointing. This kind of trickery shouldn’t be allowed on the App Store. Be careful - and honestly, better avoid this app.

No option to connect AMEX USA
Wasted time, connecting to my accounts then there is no connection to Amex. Deleted app after an hour.

Soy cliente Premium de por vida, mas sucede que en los últimos meses, no puedo consultar mis gastos específicos, por ejemplo mis gastos de compra en restaurantes en el mes. Se toma bastante tiempo ya sea con data de celular (LTE) o conexión de internet (Cable Modem de 150 megas). Tengo registros desde febrero 2022 y se demora bastante tiempo en dar la información que se requiere consultar.

I wish I could put zero stars. Worked the first month and then it kept saying “no transactions”…. re-added my bank which takes hours. And it says the same thing.

Paid premium for nothing and support doesn’t respond
I paid for the 1yr premium on the account and after about 5 months it stopped populating my credit card purchases from 2 cards. I reset the connection and emailed the company and got no reply or refund.

Sadly, I didn’t get any help so far about that. I would love the app otherwise, but it’s not usable if I can’t open it …!

Error message on bank sync page
I need an affordable budget app so I can leave expensive YNAB. (Oh, the irony!) But when I click “connect a bank” on your app all it shows is an error message: “An error occurred. Please try again.” No luck with closing the app and signing in again. :/
Thankfully I’m doing the free trial before paying for premium 😅
I’ll update this review if the issue is fixed. I would LOVE to leave YNAB for spendee if this is fixed.

Doesn’t support Apple Card
I recently downloaded the app and attempted to add an Apple Card, but regrettably, Goldman Sachs bank is not included in the list of supported banks. deleting the app.
Couldn't even get it work
I linked my bank account information twice, and it won’t come up. if I can’t even do that, the app is unusable for me.
WARNING SHOPPER
Even if you buy the premium pass, it will always ask you to manually sync data because 2FA is enabled everywhere and that is a technical challenge Spendee didn’t overcome yet.. and you will have to click the sync button everytime you want new data.
I don’t understand why not the are not developing an in-app setting that I as a user can enable that it will sync it for me….

Doesnt work
I used this app for months and it was great. However, now for 4 months my info wont sync. I have contacted customer service to fix the issue and they do not seem to be able to get it working. It has been a huge waste of time.

Honestly too many disappointments. Bank doesn’t connect properly, reading articles to learn how to use the app is daunting. Why not have a step by step intro like every other app? None of the features for tracking or creating personal recommendations didn’t work….at all! Do not download, waste of time. Better off carving your budget into a stone tablet.
No Longer Works
I’ve been using this app for the past few months. At first, everything was great. And now, my balances are off even after I triple-checked everything.

I’ve been using this app more than 1 year but at once it stopped to sync my 2 main bank accounts. As I was very loyal to company because I really liked but over month of talking with support team they didn’t solve my issue. Only one solution- to make new connection and categorized all my transactions for whole year from the beginning. I’m disappointed! Even worse they suggested me to merge my old wallet with recent added wallet, I did it and as result I lost access to old wallet and all my categorized transactions. Trying to ask about new solution of new problem, they just closed my case and have not replied for 5 days.

The connect bank account flow is broken. Plaid takes you back to your site and nothing. You’re just in your site. The flow dead ends.
This app is a fraud
I wanted to try out the app and it offered me a 7-day free trial for the premium version. So I clicked a button to activate it and it immediately charged me $23 without giving me any free trial period.
Not good anymore
I have used it for 5 years and it was great even with the increasing ads that keep asking you to subscribe. But recently it won't load and it crashes everytime I edit something. It won't even export my data.

Missing key features
Two things most people need in a personal finance app are “how much do I have until my next payday” and “what do I have right now”. This platform gives you neither. I really wanted to like it, even was prepared to pay for premium but it didn’t meet my basic needs. It gives you some sort of net worth calculation that I could never back into. Finally it did not have my main bank in the us but have the uk version. Sorry but this just didn’t do anything for me but waste my time.

I hope eventually they find a way to make this app usable again, but for now it’s time to find an alternative.
Good luck trying to share wallet
Glad I started with a trial and was able to cancel before paying. Tried so many times to share the wallet with my wife. Logged out, logged back in, deleted app, reinstalled, deleted account and made a new one.. no success. Really like the app if I’m the only one using but if we can’t share the wallet, which I assume most families will want to do, then it doesn’t make sense to keep it. I tried via the mobile app and via the web app. Pretty frustrating. Guess we will try something else.

Don’t buy subscription
I decided to buy an annual subscription for the features but since downloading it 10 days ago it’s been nothing but issues. My bank keeps getting disconnected, the app was glitching that I couldn’t open it or refresh. Don’t waste your $ on a subscription.
NOT FREE
as with many budgeting apps, it says in its description it’s free and you can download it. But before you can actually make a budget you have to pay either $4.99 a month or $99.99 for a “lifetime purchase”. There is no way for me to know if this app it worth it, but from my short experience I would not spend $5 to try an app that seems so simple and doesn’t allow manual spending documentation.
Currency change is not saved automatically
I wanted to change the main currency but even after changing the settings to another one instead of USD, each record i create is still using USD and when trying to change it it always ask me to put the exchange rate, FRUSTRATING!!!!!

Promising but does not deliver
The bank autosync was one of the big selling points, but my experience has been pretty spotty. Only 2 out of 4 banks I tried adding worked, and one of them suddenly stopped syncing.
Support tries to be helpful but they mostly tell me to try again only for me to hit sane issues over and over.

Imports Every Transaction Since Bank Account Opened
I wanted to set a date range of transactions beginning January 1, 2023 but the system uploaded years and years of transactions. The system will not allow you to delete ANY transactions.
I paid for the Premium app, and it turns out this is just a list of transactions you can assign a category name. Very weak!

I really want to love this app but I am having so many issues. It has everything I am looking for: Ability to create my own budgets with the dates and frequencies I want. The interface is easy to use. But here is where I am stuck:
1. Transactions not updating on a timely fashion.
2. When the transactions do update, it reclassified some of the transactions it updated before. This messes up my budgets because it moves items out of the buckets I have moved them to.
3. The dates on my transactions is a day before. Example, if I make a purchase 12/20 with my credit card, once that transaction appears on Spendee, it shows as 12/19. Is almost as if the app itself has the wrong date.
