this used to be a good security app but it is just awful. ive been trying to figure out how to get in contact with customer service but it always brings me to their preloaded questions. im leaving my issue here bc at one point i thought i finally found a way to contact them bc it brought me to send an emIl but didnt have an address to send it to.
so here is my issue:
i have paid for premium the last two years yet on this app it is saying i do not have premium and in the web browser it is saying i havent paid since 2024. im frustrated and want a full refund for 2025, and for 2026 i just want premium to be fixed on my account or a full refund. in the past i felt secure know this app was in the background protecting, but come to find out it isnt?!
so here is my issue:

Every time I I’d scan the same Neiman Marcus email data issue comes up. It’s been years since that was discovered and I have since deleted NM. Do you clean up your data? How do I get the NM off the I’d scan?
Something rotten in Denmark…
I’ve had the app on my phone for years and opened it today after much time. I see a four month free promotion for their “total plan” and sign up for it through my account link. I provide my info and it asks me to create an account. I click on “login” and suddenly, my phone no longer remembers the password. I close and reopen the app and I’m still logged in on the app but to the basic plan and doesn’t upgrade. I go back to the website, click on “forgot my password”and I’m still waiting after my third attempt. They have my credit card number so I decide I’m going to cancel. Guess what…yeah, it’s like that. Now I will likely have to endure, what I’m sure will be a lengthy time consuming process to get rid of this thing and implement safeguards so they don’t charge me. If it sounds too good to be true…better the devil you know, I guess.
TO THE DEVELOPER; please don’t contact me telling me how sorry you are that I’m having these issues or going through this difficult experience, and to just contact your support team and they’ll be more than happy to guide me through it, because I did, three times, THREE times, and I’m still waiting. These are simple issues that shouldn’t be issues, because it’s a Mobile Security app and you should know better. You should know better!

I want to cancel subscription and it is just circles thru the same response. Ask question, told to cancel on app. Doesn’t cancel on app told to go back to original app. Go to original app, cancel subscription and then back to original app

What happened to Lookout?
This was so much better when Lookout ran the show. Back then, the developers and support actually cared. Now they’re owned by a soulless corporation based in Finland and their developers are all based remotely. It’s a dumpster fire now.
No protection

This app wants all of your personal data yet provides an inaccurate DNS update for a setting which is not in Apple’s latest iOS version. Thus “Safe Browsing” was disabled. Searched legal doc for “Trial.” There were nine hits but none gave instructions on cancelling (which I did through the App Store). Finally, the support site would not load without disabling my Lockdown Mode. You have to disable LM for the app just to get help/info? Not good.

I downloaded and signed it to the app and it just kinda set itself up. There’s lots of radio buttons to move on or off but I didn’t find it extremely helpful with what it is actually doing. Not sure how to review something that I am not sure about. So maybe that’s actually a review. In any case not something I would want on my device.

Won’t let me make an account!
Most recent reviews are more one star than not, and I have to give the same rating. I downloaded them deleted then downloaded the app again, and it won’t even let me make an account. When a touch the password box the keyboard comes up and covers it up. Hence, no account.
Dissapointed
Based on these reviews and what I’ve seen online, I am not alone with disappointment. I’ve used lookout since 2009 when the company just getting off the ground. Since the very beginning, I felt confident recommending the product to any and everyone. Since, the company made improvements on their mobile security products, I started paying for the premium subscription back in 2023 - because of the premium features that were introduced. Well since Lookout INC sold the company to F-Secure in 2023, there have been nothing but problems. Last year my premium subscription was changed to the basic tier although I was still paying for the premium at the same price. I’ve already tried reaching out to customer support, which was no help. They do not read any of the information in the support tickets nor look at the screenshots that they ask for - model of phone, where it was purchased, active subscription showing the history etc. Last year, the support team finally fixed my subscription and gave me the premium subscription that I was already paying for. Their “suggestion” to me was that after last year “I would need to cancel my subscription and re-enroll because of a glitch.” This year, I really tried to give it another chance - my premium subscription renewed and the account still showed basic. So after reaching out to customer support again, letting them know what the issue were and I provided the screenshots before hand letting them know that my premium subscription was active. They eventually responded after I sent several emails - to only ask for screenshots showing that I paid. It’s would’ve been amazing if they would have just looked at the thread that they responded to - and they would have seen the screenshots. I unsubscribed and then when I resubscribed under the same price for the premium tier, my account still shows the basic tier. I’m not asking for something for free, I just want what I paid for just like anyone would. I won’t even ask for customer support anymore - no one should ever have to work this hard at communicating with someone especially considering they don’t ready any of the information or look at anything that is submitted. I won’t be back, I’m highly disappointed and No, I do not want to reach customer support because we know how that’ll go. Just please get it together. If you’re going to raise the price, fine. Just don’t tell (or let) people pay for a service that they don’t get. I prefer to not leave bad reviews, usually In a bad experience, I typically prefer to not leave one at all. Between the issue with customer support and its lack of misguided communication, I filled out the survery and I’m leaving a review. Since I will never come back as a customer, please get things in order so that the same thing doesn’t happen to those that are still willing to support you as lookout aka F-Secure.
Dangerous App
The fact that this app asked for social security, billing address, and other things you should never give an app is extremely sketchy. This app needs to be taken off the App Store. I mean come onnn. Scanning my ID!? How dumb do you think we are. So sad some people are paying to get scammed!

This use to be Lookout security which was free to use, didn’t cost me nothing before, but now all you want is money money money which is very greedy ! I want the free version of your app ! I have had this app since 2013 when it was LookOut. It used to be simple to manage my devices , switching it to a new device was easy and tracking a device was simple. Now I cannot manage my devices or track a device. After paying for a year, I am unable to remove it from my old phone to transfer to a new phone. I can’t even get any help from F-Secure. Worthless to me at this point.

Features that don't work
Location features don't work and there seems to be a discoordination between Lookout and F-Secure where as I have an account on Lookout's site (where locate device doesn't work, features & fuctionality of the Lookout site appear to have been downgraded) and F-Secure's website doesn't have my account info and doesn't even recognize my email address. The two companies merged quite a while ago and you'de think they would have addressed these issues by now.

On my android it shows all three of my devices on my iPhone. It shows I have only one. To find your phone you have to log into the website and that is even worse than the app.

May 7th 2025 I upgraded to to an I-phone 16 Pro. I then asked F-Secure to change my annual billing to my Apple Card. I saw it come thru for $99 or $199 and then it promptly got downgraded to the BASIC Plan. WHY?
Now per, instructions on F-Secure sight, I’m told to delete the app, resign up, choose existing customer & PAY another $59.
Someone PLEASE explain what is going on????

Says there is a free trial THERE IS NOT. My identity has been stolen so I have been trying to secure everything the best I can, these apps i would like. To try before I purchase 60 dollars and it won’t let me.
