There is no free trial!
I wanted to try this app because it offered a 7-day free trial. However, I realized it didn't have the tools I needed, so I canceled my subscription the same day.
Now Apple Support is telling me that the app didn't actually have a free trial, so they can't issue a refund. They suggested that I contact FaceTune directly, which I did. However, FaceTune told me that Apple is responsible for all charges and free trial subscriptions made through the App Store.
I've never had an issue like this before, and I'm honestly shocked that neither side is willing to take responsibility for what seems to be a mistake. In the end, I paid $11 for an app that I canceled immediately and didn't use.

I used to really loved FaceTune and then they got rid of all the good filters and put these stupid ones on ruining the whole app. I hate AI. Ew.

The app functions just as described, but you literally can't save anything unless you pay them or sign up for a subscription. everything is hidden behind a pay wall, and subscription; extremely misleading.

At the beginning, this was one of the best apps providing the essentials tools to edit photos, with the option to pay for upgrading features/tools . However, now you have to pay for everything, even to make an essential change. You could improve leaving the essentials free (like color adjusting)
Shady business
Twice I have gotten a free trial/paid for a short period. And twice I have cancelled and twice they charge me after the cancellation. This last time they emailed me confirmation of the cancellation and two days later was billed $77.99. Do not trust them.

No transparency
The app requires uses to create an account BEFORE notifying them that they must purchase a subscription to use any features. Seems to be their way of collecting data without providing any service.

Whatever you do don’t sign up for free trial. When I tried to cancel there was no cancel option and they repeatedly charged me weekly until I had to cancel my card. They know what they’re doing and it’s scammy.

This is the biggest scam app ever!! I used the trial to see how it worked, and cancelled it immediately 2 months later I’m charged $34.99 for it, Apple did nothing to help. I contacted the company and they said they can only refund new subscriptions

What happened?
The app worked perfectly a week ago. After this new update, the AI ad suggestions are out of control and the main menu to add a photo and begin editing freezes. Deleting and reinstalling the app twice does not fix the bug. I’m not sure if this was sold to another company, but the difference is very noticeable. Not a good app and I am subscriber. Will not be renewing. Awful experience.
Shady practices
I downloaded the app and received a 3 day free trial and when I attempted to cancel the subscription 2 days later I was offered an extended 2 week free trial which I accepted but never received because face tune didn’t honor their offer. Six days into my free trial they attempted to charge my credit card And said that my subscription had ended after only having it for one week….. now I feel I can’t trust having this app on my phone or anywhere near my payment info!!! Why offer something you have no intention of following through with?? Weird AF!!

Greedy, Terrible App
Facetune charges $13 a WEEK for access to this app. If you forget to cancel the free trial you will be ripped off for $26 because they force you to pay for two weeks!!! An app so disgustingly greedy and predatory does not even deserve to be on the App Store.
Took all the good men filters away
All of the looks filters for men have been swapped for ones that look horrible. It’s becoming a woman focused app.

The necessity to monetize every feature in the app is ridiculous and truly a sign if the times. I am not encouraging anyone to spend the near $100 a year on the subscription to buy an android and download an apk or learn to do edits on photopea/gimp

Why am I being shown these huge icons of ladies that will help edit your pic but it’s not like the one before. This one forces you to choose. You can’t edit yourself.

I have contacted customer service and had no response! It wasn’t what I was looking for and I cancelled it minutes after the download. There was a 7-day trial. I CANCELLED it! They charged my account $39 and I have disputed it with Apple.

Free trial is a trick
The free trial is fake. You try to cancel it and it does not end then when you notice the charge later Facetune will not reimburse you. Don’t take the bait.

Creepy “vanish” function
I have been working on a photo trying to remove clutter in the background of a room. Should be a simple task. Sure, the vanish tool has issues where it would add a discoloration but there is a way to tweak it. But this time… omg.. this time was something so creepy, I yelped. So there is a kennel in a background of photo of a room. It had stuff on it. So I wanted to make it a universal color/texture with a vanish tool so it doesn’t draw attention. When I selected a tiny area in it, it consistently turned that area into a female ai generated face, different faces, sometimes distorted. I took a screen recording of 5 attempts, and every single one had a face generated there - what the actual...

Do not trust this app. Unauthorized charge to my bank when I cancelled after my free trial ended.
I tried this app while I had a free trial active using my Apple ID. I did not wish to pay for this app, so I made sure to cancel my subscription as soon as my free trial ended. I even double-checked my subscriptions under the Apple Store to make sure it was no longer active (it wasn’t). Then, on June 03, 2026, I received an automated text from my bank alerting me of a possible unauthorized charge for $77.79 from Facetune. I marked it as fraud, and then logged into Facetune (after re-downloading the app) to see why they had charged me for a cancelled subscription. I then saw that somehow I was logged into an Apple ID that I didn’t recognize and was clearly randomly generated (it was a serious or random letters and numbers @privaterelay.appleID) yet was somehow tied to my debit card. This means that Facetune somehow tied my payment information to a randomly generated Apple ID and charged me for an unauthorized yearly subscription even after I cancelled my subscription with my actual Apple ID after my free trial ended. This is fraud, and absolutely illegal, and I don’t recommend anyone trust this app. I will be reporting them for fraud and will be receiving a new card from my bank, as my current one (the one Facetune applied the unauthorized charge to) is now locked.
UPDATE: In response to the developer: nice try, but no. I did not use this “hide my email” feature that you reference, and if that’s what happened, then it was absolutely without my authorization, or my knowledge. I only ever logged into the app using my actual Apple ID attached to my email address, and I know for a fact that I used my actual Apple ID tied to my phone when I started (and cancelled) my subscription for Facetune for my free trial, and I don’t recognize the Apple ID that was used to continue to charge me for a yearly subscription at all; I never once entered it, nor does it match my actual Apple ID AT ALL. I also never actually signed up for a yearly subscription, as I never intended to actually pay for this app; I only wanted to try it using the free trial (and like I said, I absolutely made sure to cancel it before it had ended, so as to avoid being charged). My payment info was tied to this fraudulent Apple ID without my authorization, and I was forced to dispute the fraudulent charge with my bank and now I have to get a new debit card as my current one has now been locked.
