The literal only thing this game has going for it is the main story line but even you get screwed out of that by OP bosses. Fix your rates I’ve been playing for years restarted multiple times simply because I love the characters. Tone down the craft essences I’ve literally got over a thousand green cubes just from selling craft essences I don’t need or want. Also the Valentines banners were an absolute joke. Zero guys in the banners all women what’s the point of having guys if they get left out in events where they should have just as much of a chance to shine as women do. Totally disappointed and made me just not want to even play the event after I made sure to give every guy on my roster I possibly could a Valentine. PS Your game has more than women in it act like it and start giving guys more events please.
The rolls in the game?
Great story and mechanics, won’t deny that. Five stars there
But the rolls? 80 $ will get you 168 sq, 30 sq is ten rolls, 50 rolls for 100 dollars? Criminal, absolutely criminal, and the worse part? You probably won’t make a pity for the 5 star on the banner. You could throw 500 sq to a banner and still NOT get the five star, that’s how bad the rolls are. You can grind sq sure, but you need to complete the full mission node for 1 sq, and usually it’s 3 battles against 3 waves of 3 enemies. So it drags on, so you spend a lot of time grinding sq or whale and not even get your time or moneys worth. What I’m saying is whoever’s in charge of writing and story and battles and character design deserves a raise, and not a soul else.

Needs a better sign in system
Had to delete to make space for a new phone update. Redownloaded and can’t sign in without a transfer number, which can’t be accessed anymore. I’m not restarting this game for a third time ever since my first forced log out
Game crashes
Can’t even finish the current event because the game constantly crashes even before the final grail front begins. Incredibly frustrating considering I’ve spent a lot of money on in-game purchases over the past several years and now I can’t finish an event.

Worst gacha rates of any game
This game has possibly one of the worst rates of any gacha game on the market currently. It also doesn’t give you enough opportunities to get gems if you’re free to play or on a budget. Their rate up claim, might as well be a lie.
Account recovery
I had lost access to my account and decided to contact support. I gave them enough info to prove I am the owner of the account but they refused to help. They claimed my account was still active when I had no access to my account. Even after so much proof I was the owner, they still “couldn’t verify I was the owner.” What a joke of customer support.

The only merit this game has is in it’s story and character art. Both are available to enjoy at any time on the wiki, on youtube, and so on. The day to day gameplay is the same, monotonous, stingy grind for materials with awful drop rates, with a clunky outdated UI, and the greediest gacha mechanics to ever plague our miserable species. The game shows you nearly a thousand awesome characters they have and then tells you you’re not allowed to actually experience any of their story content. Hope you also don’t care about any past limited time story content either because if you didn’t play it, it’s unavailable entirely. Character specific stories are also locked unless you’re wealthy or dumb enough to have paid thousands of real dollars to unlock them in the short windows they were rate up. If you’re not the child of a wealthy aristocrat, I sure hope you’re willing to forgo basic necessisities to afford a chance at any single character, with a pity system so pathetic it makes Genshin Impact seem like Mother Theresa for how generous it is. $400 USD isn’t even enough to guarantee a character fyi and don’t think you can just grind the gacha currency to avoid spending. The game gives you enough for roughly 3-4 summons of the 330 pity requirement per week. If you like a specific character and want to play the game for them, don’t, because it’s probably going to be a year or more before you have a chance to obtain them if even that.
Pick any other gacha. FGO does not respect your time, commitment, or intelligence. I reccomend Punishing Gray Raven a thousand times over this greedy trashfire. I’d hesitate to reccomend Genshin, Uma, Honkai, or ZZZ at all, but if you need gambling in your life I guarantee you any of them’ll be a better experience than FGO.

Dated gacha game
Games really old looking paper cut out style graphics don’t hold up compared to these amazing 3d gacha games on the market today. Go play an actual good gacha game with 3d waifus because this game does not have anything besides poorly drawn 2d characters
Jp app gives far more quartz for dailies and weeklies and the NA rate ups don’t match the percents provided it’s a scam.

Drop rates…
You shouldn’t have to draw to pity to get a 5 star every time. The drop rates seem to have gotten even worse than they were before I’m barely drawing anything 4star and above without paying for it with real money when they have guarantees. Play at your own risk you will be disappointed. Gameplay is boring and you can’t auto it. Story is meh. Save your time play something more worthwhile

Laughably Terrible Rates
The story on this game is solid, bordering on great, the unit rates are abyssal and predatory and I would highly recommend people stay far away from this one unless already invested
FGO six years later
This game was outdated four years ago. The voice acting is nice for characters, but you will not hear any of it during the story.
FGO is not new player friendly. Any new players out there have missed on numerous events and that is the main source of collecting a item to max out a character’s skills. This game demands a heavy time investment to make progress: that point you may as well just play FFXIV and get better rewarded for your time. The following two years (based on upcoming JP events) players will need the over powered units to clear the most optimal grinding spots in events.
The gacha system for this game is one of the worst currently in gacha games. They somewhat recently added a pity system but it is one time and requires a heavy resource investment.
Story: if you get past chapter 2 Septem, the rest of the story is amazing by comparison.
Turn based combat feels nice up until the second main story where the fights start feeling more and more scripted as story gets added.
If the game improves to point I can recommend this to other people I will probably return to update my rating of this game.
Update (May 15th, 2025): Class Score was introduced and it is a way to buff entire archetypes(servant class) in the game, but the issue is time. To get all the main currency to unlock the passive buffs (not including any extra materials that are given as handouts) will take a minimum of 128 days to complete one archetype out of fifteen. Completing all of it would take an estimated five years.
NA server side will see no changes in the future. As long as the JP server side is complacent with the state of the game the rest of the world is stuck with this excuse for a game.

Horrible customer service
I had lost my account for unknown reasons, and when I tried to address the issue with F/GO support, they not only disregarded my SUFFICIENT proofs of ownership on the account but also ignored me for months after. This means the money I’ve spent on the game is lost and there’s no way to get a refund despite me having the purchase details. It’s honestly a joke and I would not recommend this game to anyone as a result.

Twenty minutes of “touch here, now touch here” followed by endless pop ups is not a game.
What happened
The gatcha system is so broken that it’s not even worth pulling let alone spending any money on got so annoyed that I’ve decided to delete the app entirely. Why am I gonna save so much if I can’t even come close to pulling the character I want. Wish I could give it 0 stars. Shame tho I used to have fun with the game.

Banner exclusives are cool and all but characters locked behind a banner that only returns ONCE A YEAR OR EVEN LONGER is god awful. I want one specific card and thats it I can understand maybe featuring once every 3-4 months but YEARS is a terrible decision and design. I would even pay for the card with money but I CANT cause they DONT RETURN for OVER A YEAR

I saved up 120 saint quartz and I still didn’t get to pull the featured servant pickup summon. Only 1 4-star servant and bull craft essences.

Units have special abilities to mix things up, but a vast majority are percentage multipliers or immunity to a specific condition. Pretty pedestrian stuff for characters you’d need to spend $300 to guarantee.
Welfare is non-existent, expect one 5 star guarantee for the entirety of the grind. Updates are literally repeating JP servers from years ago, so they’re not spending a cent developing this garbage while you feed them your cash.

Don’t spend money on this
I’ve been playing now for around 5 months consistently. Game is overall really enjoyable, literally play it all the time, but the game has terrible rng and gets repetitive with no pvp, also very hard to make your servants worthwhile you really need to upgrade their NP. To do this you need duplicates of that servant, and the rng just to pull one 5 star is absurd. I’ve spent over $100 worth of currency used to buy packs and just get duplicate craft essence and a couple duplicates of the secondary servant you usually have no interest in, this means if you’re f2p and save tons for packs you could easily not get the servant, and the next time that summon banner comes around could be forever, meaning servants you really want you’ll likely never get and when they come around you’ll just grind and get disappointed, and even if you get it eventually you need to get duplicates of it if you want it to be really strong. This game also lacks any form of PvP meaning the grind is simply to do the same thing over and over to npc’s just to save rolls for a chance at a new servant (or trying to get duplicates) and even though the storyline stories are decent, you’ll feel the urge to skip all cutscenes just to get the currency to spend on a banner that is on for a very limited time. This gacha reminded me even spending any amount of money on these games is completely regrettable. Very sad.

Tried starting 5 times, the “tutorial” is absurd
The tutorial of this game is so long and so asininely boring and repetitive it’s just a terrible first impression.
Good game but time-consuming
I’ve played this game for a while because of my brother. I’ve been a fan of the series for quite a while too, but this game has taken up more of my time than a couple of daily tasks have. If I could, I wouldn’t have started the game in the first place. there’s no way to auto battle so there’s that that could fix it. Everyone else uses third-party apps to farm you can’t do that on this platform. I would give it a four star review if it had an auto battle feature or better exchange rates for farming. The summoning pool for characters is horrendous. I can see why there’s a lot of people who drop it And never come back. I really wish better for this game. I’m just gonna say I’m tired, Cheif.
