If an app pops up with a notice asking whether I enjoy said app, I automatically give it one star. Not only is it obnoxious, it’s disruptive and disrespectful on a financial app.

I have four different investing platforms and this is by far the worst. The tools are limited. It will not even show my cash balance plan. We are being told we can call in for those balances. If I weren’t stuck with this for the moment I would move.

No More Dividend Insight
The new update inexplicably deleted the dividend option that shows your actual dividend income. Why??
Horrible UI experience for active traders; designed for low-/no trade, buy-and-hold strategies.
If you trade regularly, this app becomes infuriating. It takes 5-15 seconds to move between screens or to pull up tickers and that’s when it doesn’t get stuck in an infinite loading loop where you have to back out and then reselect the action again or otherwise restart the app entirely.
Likewise, the app does not have live pricing while you’re planning a trade (e.g., you navigate to the option/stock order screen and the bid-mid-ask prices are then locked at whatever the underlying was at the time you entered the screen instead of in real time to keep up with price changes that happen while you’re in the screen), so you’re always using stale pricing data when preparing a trade. there are also several screens before you can execute a trade which makes for a cumbersome and inefficient experience.
Lastly, the portfolio tracker UI is dated and designed for buy and hold, low- to no-trade volume users. The entire app seems to be designed that way. I rolled a Fidelity IRA into another Fidelity IRA which caused the portfolio chart to miscalculate my overall gains to where it seemingly added the rollover amount into the gains so the chart is now perpetually incorrect. Don’t get me started on the charting (lack thereof) either.
If you want to trade with more frequency, literally any of the other large brokers offer much better experiences where you won’t lose your shirt on a trade because of copious amounts of erroneous timeouts or or via sluggish UIs. Use ThinkorSwim, ETrade, IBKR, Even Robinhood or Webull instead as they all designed their apps to accommodate efficient, modern day trading for high-, mid- and low-frequency traders/investors. Be better Fidelity. This is for buy-and-hold investors and passive IRAs/401Ks.

Change In positions on the app
Why did Fidelity change the layout of the “positions” on the app, it’s horrible now. Looks like I’m on the fidelity website on my phone. Switch it back!

Elan just sent out an insulting “generic” letter to customers, even ones with immaculate credit relationships, telling them that since they aren’t good enough, rates are being raised. If you want to fire your customers, do this. Piss poor.

The selection of Buy vs Sell is implicit. Users should be asked from a drop down explicitly whether they want to buy or sell to avoid errors (like one website). There is also no option to sell a specific share vintage.
Colors
Do not like the new color schemes. They are too dark which makes reading the black font letters/numbers nearly impossible in some instances. It’s very difficult especially with options please revert to previous settings they were just fine.

My money never went into the account. Between Fidelity and my bank no one knows where my deposit went.

doesn't allow SELL on ipad
past 2 versions (at least) have broken sell buttons. Buying wirks, selling does not.
Color changes terrible
The latest app update made the red and green tints on positions so dark that they are unreadable. I guess it’s back to the desktop version as I hope they haven’t destroyed that too.

Very few features work. Impossible to open an account. I called customer service three times. Still nothing. My financial advisor swears by Fidelity. So far I hate it!!!
Tough transition from Web to App
I have experienced so much frustration with this. I was a happy camper on the web, could navigate easily. Not with the App. And i cant logon the web unless i have my phone next to me. Aggravating.

Why I’m supposed to change language settings on my phone to be able to use the app? Makes no sense. Yeah, instead of fixing the app let’s just force clients to change phone’s settings - what a smart idea!

Hard time setting up account
When I downloaded the app and tried to set up my account they were unable to send a verification code to my phone. After calling 3 times and having to hold and having to deal with one of the techs telling me “there’s nothing I can do, you’ll have to go to a physical store to verify who you are” they finally realized that they had put my number in wrong. The tech said “it looks like we fat fingered your number and put a 3 instead of a 6”. It doesn’t instill a great bit of confidence in a financial company that can’t correctly plug in someone’s phone number. It’s fine now and the problem was solved but it definitely made me feel a little sketchy about this company handling my money.
Creating an account
Don’t bother creating an account. I tired creating one multiple instances and it kept giving me an error message. Not worth the hassle. I might as well go to a different brokerage.

By far the worst app available for either investing and trading.
Scam option valuation and display
If you do options withdraw 100% of your money immediately and go to a better platform. Option value glitches. Often my 15k worth of options displays as $300. Do not use this trash broker ever for anything besides simple share trades. Pure garbage.
I can’t have access to the app
Even though my tracking shows that I am in the U.S., the app will not open and I cannot access my account. I have already tried restarting my phone and reinstalling the app, but the issue persists. I am also unable to receive the verification code from the Fidelity website. This needs to be resolved as soon as possible.

Slow - hangs
When I enter a trade, it stalls. I hit Transaction > Trade then a search for ticker screen comes up. It takes 10 seconds hanging, then another 10 seconds after each letter of a ticker that I type in.
Also, baskets are great but they often don’t roll up for one of my accounts so I’m left with numerous uncategorized tickers.

Initial setup
Trying to set up an account for over a week now. I’ve seen activity on my bank account so I know it’s been identified. But every time I try to enter funds into this account it gives me an error message. I don’t know what to do and I’m ready to give up on this. There is no option to talk to a person there. The AI is not helpful.

Can’t get out of their own way
Zero sign that anyone focuses on the user experience. The latest redesign in the Activity view added extra taps to see details for every single item where you could see it all before, in addition to hiding buttons in menus. Adding taps is moving in the wrong direction morons.

I’ve been with them for 50 years and would go nowhere else!!
