Finary: Budget & Money Tracker

I love the YouTube chain. Mounir and his team are doing more for educating people on personal finances than anyone before. It’s not pro bono as the service of Finary is not free and the financial products proposed mean business. Finary is certainly going to be a beautiful FinTech company. All my admiration remains for that. But the issue is more basic : the application does not work well. It uses Powens that does not do a proper job at agregating data or linking accounts. With bank 1 (a well-known brick and mortar French bank), it only picks the checking account data. With bank 2 (a US financial institution), the numbers are wrongly reported, by a long shot! With bank 3 (a well known Fintech), the link is simply impossible. I am sure that with online support and phone calls, it is possible to solve the issues but the point of the Finary appplication is to make personal finances easy. So, it is an absolute no-go and a personal disappointment.

When resetting one’s password, the button to save the new password entered never activates to save changes, it remains grayed out i.e. not actionable. Please fix, as there seems to be no way through the Finary website to reset user account passwords.

This app is not Free.

Uh you guys mention robinhood as one of your brokers but I haven’t found any opportunity to connect RH account. App useless to me so far as I use RH and KuCoin and neither of them seem to be supported.

This could be a 5 star app. I’ll explain why after I give my pros and cons.
Pros: Tracks my dividends
Allows me to import portfolios that other apps neglect
Can track other investments that aren’t stock related… houses, watches, etc.
Cons: Has trouble keeping certain portfolios/accounts
Seems to be mostly Europe based
Okay, first and foremost, the app is gorgeous. Design is definitely top notch. The UI is easy to figure out and is broken down into the different things you’re trying to figure out. I like that. Thankfully it can track my main portfolios, but it seems to be struggling a tiny bit. I noticed while it has the balance of everything, two of my portfolios are constantly loading/refreshing while the others are completely fine and up to date.
My biggest critic is I added one more accounts. My retirement account at work. Everything seemed to be fine but all of a sudden it was gone the next day. I tried re-importing it and now it won’t show up. It’s not really a deal breaker for the app, but I’d still like to see that included in my net worth. Hopefully a future update fixes any connectivity issues like that - especially if it’s because I’m based in America. I’ve noticed any decent app like this isn’t American based lol.
The only suggestion I could add is maybe add a tab for investors like me to chat about any finance related news. That would be super cool. Again, not a dealbreaker, but I would like to see the issues I mentioned addressed because this could easily be a 5 star app.

I successfully linked 2 major brokerages - Fidelity (via Flanks) and Ascensus (via Plaid) Neither pulls any data into Finary. Fidelity shows as actively linked but Zero dollars/funds/data pulling in. Ascensus “requires verification” immediately after successfully linking, and then shows repeated errors trying to verify/relink.
Trying this out in the free version to see if it’s something I’d want to pay to use for everything. Not based on it failing to link/import my most important accounts.
Interface looks nice though.
